I bet it is like floating in a mist of awesome sound in there!! Loved that EPIC face on 3:47 ...somehow it reminded me of Nap Dynamite's bro. Thanks for the vid!
I have had one of these for years. Used to have two before I traded one. I found a new use for it. I own a Fender Super Champ XD that has a line out. I hooked the Tech 21 as an extension cab for the SCXD and it sounded fantastic. Or you could use it like a small stack and put the SCXD on top of it.
@knikk77 No need for a preamp w/ Nova Sys... it has an analog front end so its warm. I've used it direct to board to record... directly into 2 Power Engine 60's for live gigs (MY FAVORITE)... also used it into the front of many different tube amps and it sounds great every time!
@TheyBeingMyBand I use the Spk Sim at all times... I accidently left it on after a session where I needed to go direct. I didn't notice it until I went to turn it on a week later when I needed to go direct again. It sounded good on so on it stayed since! LOL!
This dude sounds like Charlie from Always Sunny in Philadelphia lol! Totally a compliment. Cool vid! I'll be picking this thing up to use with mac running mainstage.
HELL YEAH, BACK to the FUTURE!!! lol :) Nice Pedal Board nd Guitar, and yes, those Tech 21 Power Engines seem to totally Kick Butt.. might look into them soonlike (=) ROCK ON!!!
@ByDefaultUK No, but it could be a number of things... bad or cheep cable... bad ground, try a ground lift... if you have single coil p-ups... make sure all your gear is plugged into the same power source.
@Mikefly23 Hey man thanks for the compliments! Since I used a separate acoustic rig for the Piezo on the Parker I used the XLR ins for that and 1/4 ins for the electric . But just use the 1/4in on the PE's. I just got a POD HD Pro rack and will be demoing that soon. Stereo is so KILLER man! Sounds huge! Enjoy and thanks for watching! \m/
Dude you are cool I wish we could jam together. I love the way you have the acoustic idea and how your delay kept going after you faded to acoustic hOW IN THE WORLD?
Thanks!! Appreciate the compliment!! Go for it!!!! Actually get two you won't be disappointed!!!!! Since this video I've updated and have a POD HD Pro into two PE's and it sounds great! I set up a rig for a friend after he tried mine and he's very satisfied! \m/
@lantyboy696 As in Native Instruments Guitar Rig? If so take the audio outs of their foot ctlr and plug into 1/4 in on the PE... you need 2 PE's to take advantage of stereo effects.
hey man, thanks for the vid, it helped me pull the trigger. I ordered one and it will take a while until it gets here in Canada but I think it will be worth it, I was tired of compromising my tone by "preamping my preamp" lol, nice playing too
@TheRussloner Well I'm not sure of your Q? You can't have true stereo if you're using the TM60 as the main amp & the PE60 as the ext speaker as it sounds in your description. If you want amp like ctrls then go w/ 2 TM60's set clean and use effects in front of the amps. You really need 2 get out and try things in a store before you buy anything because the way effects react in front of an amp compared to an effects loop set up or direct into the PE60's all sound drastically different good luck!
I dont really use a processor or special preamp. My question is, if i got a trademark60 and power engine 60 could they be set up as one stereo amp? My goal is to be able to use a custom panning pedal to move my sound from one speaker to another. I want a simple guitar amp control interface (like the tm60) and i want both cabs to sound the same and work from the same controls but be true stereo in the sense that they can bring stereo effects to life.
@Zhorellski I'd call or email them directly on that one... my guess is no, they are designed for guitar not for a PA type situation. So the clarity that a PA delivers will not be there.
I run a Fender Floor into the Tech 21 it sounds great. Plan for a second one for stereo and or for my piezo blend. The tone is clean and pure. Perfect for pedals or PA system.
I got mine today thanks vince. This thing is loud almost as loud as my podhd500 through my fullstack. And much better tone. Not fuller but as loud and better sounding. 4 pw60's would be as good if not better than a half stack due to the pw60's eq capabilities. And I don't have to change my settings from one amp to another. Tech21 has made a fan for life. Now I just need to find a way to get a endorsement so I can get more on a discount lol. The pw60 gets a 5 star review anyway. Great product!
Hi! You said you are using the Boss AD3 and running into the PE60's using XLR's. How do you set that up? I know the AD3 does not have XLR out. Is there a special cable that you use to run from 1/4in to XLR?
@vincew0w Hey Vince I have question for you sir. Let's say you are using your Sansamp GT2 with the British setting with a good amount of gain running into the Tech21 PE60. You also have the nova system that you are using for effects which sounds better placed after the GT2. If you wanted to use the overdrive from the nova system for some added warmth for a solo or something, would the nova system overdrive sound good if the unit is placed after the GT2? Thanks
Are you using the Speaker Sim ON or OFF in the Nova System? I'm thinking of running my NS into a DI, then send one signal to FOH, the other to the Tech 21 as a monitor. With speaker sim on, how does that sound? Thanks!
I bet it sounds like floating in a mist of sound in there! Loved that EPIC face on 3:47... somehow it reminded me Napoleon's Dynamite Bro. when he was happy. Thanks for the vid!
Vince great playing. Just wondering if it sounds like 60 true watts as far as being comparable to a half stack. And would the seventy/80 speaker handle loud scooped metal tones from my podhd500 without bottoming out.
@Vasckin Yes it does! Its basically power so whatever you're putting into it will determine that... but honestly it sounds great at low and krannnnnkkkkked volumes! Enjoy thanks for watching!
@Bflatest Thanks man! You have some skills yourself! Aaaaahhhh now if I told you I'd be giving up the secret all guitarkind want to know! LOL! I explain it at @4:03 Thanks for watching!
Your vid just sold me this amp !! I´m gonna get one to run with my Digitech RP500 , they´re perfect with multi effects and the Celestion is a bonus !! Also it´s all american made :)
@1FenderGibson I'd go and compare the GT10, Vox, and my personal fav is the Nova Sys by TC. Also I dig the Line6 M9. Its hard to say what sounds best b/c everyone is different. I'd make a day out of trying gear and listening to the gain sections of each w/out effects turned on! Then you can get the best idea of how the clean & distorted tones will sound. The effects are like icing... if the cake sucks the icing's not really gonna make it better it'll just mask it.
Hey Vince, you play great. I love the info and demo. I was thinking of getting the Boss GT 10 and running it through the Tech 21 Power Engine 60 in hopes of getting a great sound that I can set specifics for specific songs while jamming with others. I was also considering the Vox Tonelab LE. What is your feel on this basic set up and which multieffects to go with? I am new to this and want your professinal opinion. Thanks!
Hey vince! Nice video, you have some killer chops! I have a PE60 (2x12), I use it to run my Line 6 POD HD500. I have some patches in stereo that sound pretty cool when using my headphones. I'd like to get an extra PE60 to plug myself live as you do so I can experiencie that same panning vibe in the room. My question is.- Do you use XLR & 1/4 inch stereo cables or just regular mono cables? Thanks for uploading this vid and keep up those mad skills!
@vincew0w Hey Vince! Excellent playing! U have killer chops! I also have a PE60 (2x12) and I like it a lot. I have a preamp (Line 6 POD HD500) and I've made some cool patches that sound killer in stereo when I'm jamming with my headphones. I'm planning on buying an extra PE60 to plug myself in stereo like you do. My question is, when you plug left & right through your PE60's do you use both XLR & 1/4 inch stereo cables or standard mono cables? Thanks a lot for uploading this video!
The new Power Engine Deuce Deluxe can handle both guitar and bass! Thanks for watching... If you dig what I do please SUBSCRIBE (if you haven't already). Sorry I didn't reply sooner, your comment was held as spam!?!?!?!?! What the????
Only problem with demos of gear like this on YT is that I'm actually not listening to the gear being demoed - the clarity comes over fine but it's impossible to get across the presence and power of those active speakers no matter what is done to it at this end so it's not really much different than if you'd DId your unit. No criticism of you intended it's just the inadequacy of the medium.
Each one is 60 watts. 120 total and never have a problem keeping up with a drummer or band. Also it has a DI out for FOH if 120 watts isn't enough. \m/
