The Whoop Band being a subscription and not a one time buy is a disappointment. You never own the product and if the company changes its mind or goes bankrupt, "your" band becomes useless.
@dexterie
@dexterie 9 дней назад
I that case, you stop paying and stop using it. Better scenario than buying it and then the company going bust and you end up with a toy that can’t be used.
@harvivekdhindsa6809
@harvivekdhindsa6809 9 дней назад
@@dexteriethat is the exact opposite mindset to have for products 😅
@dexterie
@dexterie 9 дней назад
@@harvivekdhindsa6809 I see it the same way as leasing a car. Or renting something. With the Whoop I feel I’m paying for the service, not the band. Once they have a new model, I get it without having to “buy” another one. I don’t need to own it… I just want to have the service it provides.
@dexterie
@dexterie 9 дней назад
@@harvivekdhindsa6809 just as a real life example (it’s happening to me right now): Sonos ruined the experience with their new app. My whole system is unusable. Had it been subscription based, I would have stopped the subscription, send the speakers back and get something else from a company that respects their customers. I wouldn’t even think twice. But because I bought the speakers, I’m now either stuck with paperweights or I have to spend a lot for new speakers from another brand.
@Tovkal
@Tovkal 9 дней назад
While that is true, the subscription also helps the company cover ongoing expenses needed to keep sold products working. If 100 people buy the band and then nobody else does, the subscription increases the likelihood (though it does not guarantee) that the company can continue running the servers the band requires. The alternative is to skip the subscription but raise the product's price, considering the expected longevity of each band, to cover server costs. Cheaper product with a subscription or no subscription with an expensive product-each has its pros and cons, and neither is ideal.

Honestly, having plants around my work space has really improved my quality of life. Just having something green and alive to look at and be able to spend a little bit of time once in a while to take care of them has really helped destress and calm my mind.

It may seem simple...but a bicycle. Especially around town a bicycle forces you to get outside and turns something as simple as a commute to school and back into a physical activity. It is especially good on busy days before exams where I may not really have the time to play tennis or go to the gym.

Having a neatly cable managed and organized desk setup has greatly improved my quality of life. It is so nice just to be able to sit down at a clean space that doesn't look a total shambles and this has encouraged me to spend more time being productive at my desk.

Honestly, Adaptive Cruise Control. I have it in my ‘23 Subaru Forester Sport and it has been a game changer. When the car brakes and accelerates and keeps a consistent pace based on the vehicle in front of me, it makes stop and go traffic so much easier to navigate.

Believe it or not my 13 mini has improved my quality of life. Along with uninstalling social media apps from my phone the mini has helped me use the smartphone more as a communicator. My screen time is less than an hour a day. I make calls, send some text, check emails, gps, take some pics, and listen to music on my phone. That’s it! So refreshing not be tied down to my phone. I don’t have to carry it with me everywhere around the house and if I miss a call or text well I’ll see when I see it! 😂

The BenQ monitor light bars. I know that this might not be as unique as some others but boy when I tell you how it changed my life, its crazy. It provides so much more visibility when working at night or even in the day while it still looks good imo. Subtle so it doesnt stand out as much and the easy controls. It's amazing

hello man, so tech that improve the quality of MY life : 1. 14" MacBook Pro M1 Pro, very similar to yours. it just works SO well and its so enjoyable to use i feels everybody who is working from a laptop should get this one (if they're into Apple already because i'm sure other laptop are also nice to use etc.) because there nothing worse than working with tools you don't like. 2. AirPods Pro 2nd gen : you put them in, connect immediatly, play a song, it sounds really nice. awesome noice reduction and lot of cool software feature. i feel like it's a really good investment for someone who listen to music a lot outside and is in the apple ecosystem already. these are just fantastic. nice video btw, i really like the visual quality, the different shots, really cool.

I’ll never look back after buying my first noise cancelling headphones 6 years ago. Since then I’ve owned Bose, Apple, seinheisser, and my pixel buds pro. My partner has the Sony and loves them. Love NC technology for work, travel, entertainment, or simply to enjoy music that little bit more. I get distracted very easily by sounds but also sound is very important to me when I want to hear it. Honestly now that we have it, would be so sad if I didn’t have NC technology in my life. Side note the Nomad Goods pixel buds cases look very appealing after seeing how good the iPad case is 👀

I’ve got a little portable waterproof speaker for my bathroom. I think it’s a Sony xb100. Originally 45 quid or so but it was on sale. We have google home minis in every room in the house but for privacy reasons (and difficulty of getting mains power/water everywhere) we got this little gem. It’s perfect for getting psyched with hot showers and loud music before a big day at work, AND i can just take it to the park when I need to. It’s powerful enough. Also the orange one is adorable. We named it Carrot in settings haha 🥕

12.9” iPad Pro (M chip) with LTE - extremely versatile - very portable and light - journal, take notes and doodle - connect via airplay to 70” TV to teach my kids - very helpful as a youth basketball coach to draw up plays and have pre recorded plays at my disposal - great screen for watching movie and videos - video game play and ps5 remote play - with the Magic Keyboard you can easily get basic tasks done - it can connect to an external monitor in a pinch. Disclaimer: iPads cannot replace actually computers* I’m a Mac Studio user* former MacBook Pro user as my M1 Max MBP sits in a drawer*Oliur is very right about being able to disconnect*Ipad can’t get any serious work done, it’s more fun than serious

Word of caution on the Dyson Vac, our experience has been that the battery only lasts about 2 years before it starts to fail and a replacement is in the realm of 100 USD. Not a dealbreaker, but it doesn't hold up well over time without needing parts replaced fairly often.

Recently got a 34 inch ultrawide for my setup at my office and it genuinely has helped my neck so much. I used to have 2 24 inch monitors one in the middle the other tilted towards me on the right but for some reason my neck would hurt having to turn (I don’t like the bezel in the middle). W this new monitor I can screen split 2 tabs and just move my eyes rather than my neck, and it makes me more productive and less fatigued when working!

The Ember Cup. It keeps any drink to a perfect temperature you chose. I got mine in 2022 and have used it every day (seriously). Before, my tea was too hot, then quickly too cold. But now I can have my tea on a perfect temperature for the whole day or up to 2 hours when I use the battery. I would instantly buy it again and will when it dies. People that say it is too expensive (150$) don't calculate how much use it gets. Only the app was bad two years ago but you don't need to use it (I used it once). No online-forcing so it will work even if the company dies.

I have gone all in on Bellroy products. The best has been the phone pocket which holds a few cards, one or two keys and my phone. As I have a 1-year-old, I want to switch off from my phone and have it out of the way and this does it perfectly. I can then set my Apple watch to only show important notifications during "Family Time".

When I don’t want to carry such a large heavy set up I just take my small pocketable camera (x100vi) and iPad mini + Apple Pencil and I’m set for the day to day. The Dyson vacuum is honestly one of the best purchases I've ever made. I used to wake up every morning with a stuffy nose and scratchy throat. I had to take an anti-histamine pill every single day (not joking). But when I got the Dyson, I vacuumed my bedding and furniture with it and I swear I haven't taken an anti-histamine or woken up with a stuffy nose ever since I did. It's incredible. Worth every penny. I'd re-purchase in a heartbeat if I need to. It also makes vacuuming so much fun with the green laser light (if you get one of those). Highly recommend.

For me it was letting go of my Apple Watch for an automatic watch. The peace of mind that comes with not having to recharge your watch every night and having it always juiced up when you're still out and about at night and need to be out again in the mornings. I thought I loved being able to have instant notifications pop up on my watch but I found that distracting while I'm working (I work from home too). I love not having to lug around the watch charger too when I'm traveling; I've downsized to just a MacBook Air M2, iPad mini 6, and iPhone 15, AirPods Pro 2 and they all just charge with the same usb c charger! What helped me the most was actually upgrading to an iPhone 15 though; the Dynamic Island is such a niche but useful feature for me. I use it to keep track of timers while I'm cooking or doing laundry, it's there for me to see the music I'm listening too, etc. I guess the added feature of the new AirPods as well where it can adjust volume straight from the buds. All these just made my Apple Watch obsolete

I agree with the Dyson. I have the same one. Sometimes I want the one with the lasers and all the other bells but for now it’s good enough. My unusual pick would be a transportable external monitor. I initially got one for displaying things on certain events, but now I always have an additional 14-inch screen ready to plug in with my setup at home or with my laptop when I'm away. Using 27-inches felt excessive for me, but a single one was sometimes suboptimal for certain tasks. This is the perfect balance for the times when I want that little bit extra screen real estate. I also agree with some comments about a monitor light bar - I got a cheap model that simply does its job well - and a Kindle - you don't necessarily need one to read books from the Amazon Kindle Library, but it certainly improves "quality of life".

My products that changed my life for the better would be: IKEA Styrspel chair - Not quite an Aeron, but mesh and very well built. It's like 60-70% Aeron in terms of comfort. Still, much better than any gaming chair. Keychron V10 split ergonomic Alice layout keyboard - I'm old, so I've started suffering from wrist pains, golf/tennis elbow and such, so went back to ergo keyboards and this one has been a real blessing. Affordable base keyboard, which I changed the switches (Tecsee Ice Candy linears) and caps (Drop + MiTo MT3 Godspeed R2 Ares/Apollo) for to make it more "me". Almost zero health issues in the past year with this. Looking forward to upgrading to a physically split ergo keyboard though.

Tbh it’s my Omega x Swatch Moonswatch 'Mission to Mercury'. Though it’s just a analog watch, but it does bring me away from a screen and also as a watch enthusiast, I love the design of it and it being memorable to me as well because I queued up for it way back when during the original release but didn’t get it and in my recent trip to Sydney I managed to get it. So I would say that it is a memorable piece, a useful tool and beneficial to my life.

Bro I bought the hand warmers over a year ago when you talked about them in a tech video.. they were seriously the BEST investment I've made lol.

Air Pods Pro 2. I always thought they were way too expensive, then I got a set and the sound quality blew me away. I lost a set and didn’t baulk at buying another set straight away - the cost was immaterial compared to the pleasure I get listening through these and how well they integrate with all my Apple devices.

This is going to probably sound odd but a pocket (and I mean pocket) diary! I have always struggled with 'brain fog' and procrastinating in general and whilst calendars on phones or devices are great, there's just something about actually writing things down that helps me be more organised throughout the day/week!

iPhone 15 Pro Max -- excellent cameras for content creation, helping me start my RU-vid channel. WD Black Gamedrive SSD -- since I'm constantly reviewing new laptops, having all the installations, game files etc

1. Shifting to a business laptop. Currently using a Dell Latitude and everything just works like a well oiled machine. Unlike my previous laptop, which was the HP ENVY. The build quality, battery life, aesthetics are just so much better on a business laptop that I don't think I'l be going back to a regular model again. 2. An 8-inch tablet. By far one of the most used gadgets I have. It is the Xiaomi MiPad 4 (old model, I know), and its helped me get back in to my reading habit again after being away for nearly a decade. I have academic books, comics, and tons of fiction/non-fiction books on it and the portability (and the Android ecosystem) make it very easy to simply dump as many books on to it and take them with you wherever you go.

Govee smart temperature sensor - I live in the Gulf too and I use it to know if my a/c's gone bad when I'm at work or traveling. Hate coming back to a boiling home.

I like a personal camera that looks cool. I have the Fujifilm X-E4. It has built-in film simulations which means I can take and upload photos on the go that look way better than a normal iPhone photo.

For me the K2 Stand from nexstand has been the best purchase in the last few months . I use ROG x13 flow laptop(arch linux btw) and i prefer having single display so having a laptop stand comes in clutch.

Not a single product, but the combination of two competitor's products. My Galaxy buds live + Apple Watch (on a Nomad Sport band). I started running with these two products and I can listen to my music while running. I have lost 30 pounds and am much healthier. These products have improved my life tremendously. I have AirPods Pro, but the galaxy buds are much better for exercising.

A very nice water bottle completely changed my water drinking habits. I got a Stanley (not the massive one) and I drink orders of magnitude more water now, and carry it with me everywhere from office to gym. When the new WatchOS comes out, please comment on how the new features compare to the Whoop. I want to purchase an Apple Watch/Garmin/Whoop in the next year, still undecided.

My 16" M1 MacBook Pro is a total game changer. I've got 2 external monitors that I hook it up to but I also take it traveling. That and my iPhone 13 Pro are the perfect pair.

Garmin instinct 2. All the tracking features and notifications of other smartwatches without having to recharge it every night. 20 days battery life, light and not too big. Airpod pro. I switch often between android and ios. This pair of earbuds have been fantastic and I don’t think there’s any better sounding pair at this price range. Sony RX100VII. Super small but very capable camera. I just wish it was USB-C rechargeable
