Since 1970, people have followed a U-shape curve - happiest in their youth, lower in their midlife, and then back to happy during the wisdom years. 🔵 The Washington Post shared 9 helpful social media etiquette habits, including our "Don't overshare your kids." In the age of deepfakes, less is best when posting images and videos of your children online. 🔵 Nebraska joins a long list of states suing social media - this time, it's TikTok. Alleging their algorithm is a "sophisticated gambling machine" and alleges deceptive trade practices, while contributing to unprecedented increases in mental health strain among youth.
🔵 Families of victims of the 2022 school shooting in Ulvade, Texas have sued Call of Duty, Instagram, and Daniel Defense (an AR-15 rifle manufacturer) for marketing guns and violence to the shooter before he turned 18. We know kids are being exposed to dangerous and mature content too soon. And it's harming their young, pliable brains. 🔵 Ravi Ivey, a data scientist and moral psychologist, explored the idea of device-driven protections for children in a recent article. He argues, and we agree, that our phones know enough about us to force age-based protections automatically.
