got one for Christmas. loving it so far. I agree with you about the bungee. I like to strap my phone to it the way you did with the inflatable. Or put one of the shoulder straps or handles of a backpack or duffle bag handle when I'm going thru the airport or something. kind of bummed i didn't get the inflatable since mine was a present. But that kind of tempts me to buy another one since you can pair them and use party mode. I haven't had a chance to check that feature out yet.
+becuzimjj There aren't many portable Bluetooth speakers that can left-right stereo pair, and not all of them are worth buying two of. But the UE Roll? Heck yes. With it's high volume output for the size, careful placement creates a respectably wide and active soundstage. Can turn any size cardboard box into a boombox, haha. If you're planning on purchasing another and not in a hurry, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND to check Ultimate Ears frequently. I'm kicking myself for missing their limited edition 'Holiday Sweater' design. Google the images and you'll see why. I think it's super cool. I'm a little surprised their PR didn't give me a heads-up about it either.
+El Capitan Haha, thanks! It's a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone, which seems to perform better outdoors for photos/videos than indoors. I've been wanting a mid-range mirrorless, but the Note 4 is pretty darn versatile overall. When I created this video (a couple weeks before the UE Roll officially announced), there happened to be a group of kids/teens playing in the shallow end of the pool. Apparently, when I jumped in with the UE Roll while recording, all those kids expressed shock that "that dude just went in the pool with his phone and speaker!!?!" The Note 4 had a waterproof case - can't really do that so easily with a mirrorless!
+Shelby Weinberg Ultimate Ears is still running that "while supplies last" promotion for a free inflatable floatie, but it's only if you order the UE Roll directly from their site (i.e. not from Amazon.com or retail stores or elsewhere). I'm not sure if they're selling it separately yet.
+Mirjam Weibel You can! It's waterproof, and safe under water up to 1 m for 30 minutes. It sinks in water, slowly. I threw it into the deep end of the pool to let my kids dive and bring it back up. Just shake the speaker to get the water out of the material and it plays perfect, dries out all on its own.
+Sphenix I think that Ultimate Ears' promotion to include a free floatie may have run its course? It's hard to say, because their site had (still does) only said "while supplies last".
Maybe it changes depending on country it's supplied or something, but I have one that was ordered from amazon (US site) and it came with the float ring in the box. Great speaker, would recommend!
When you open the box take out the speaker and there should be a little rolled up thing that says UE ROLL FLOATIE and it should be in there. Otherwise they might sell some on their website.
