Thanks for the video. I recently changed the PDK fluid in my 991 and sent it out for analysis. I used Blackstone Labs for the OE oil analysis and wanted to share it with the Porsche community. With 49,000 miles on the oil, the SUS viscosity @ 210 F was 48.0 (should be between 43 - 51), the cSt Viscosity @ 100 C was 6.67 (should be between 5.1 - 7.9) and flashpoint looked good at 395 F (should be greater than 335 F). However, there was iron in the oil, which is apparently normal as the PDK wears down (gears, bearings, shafts, some cases and clutch plates). Long story short, you can probably run the oil longer without any issues, but I don’t like the idea of having the iron particles build up too much and potentially cause issues. According to the analysis, these iron particles start showing up more after 29,000 miles.
Hello, 991 2011-2015 991.2 2015-2019 the pdk change on 991.2 one of internals they add are advanced synchronizers consist of precision-formed steel rings with Carbon friction linings that fulfill the highest performance expectations. This is made by Oerlikon company who also made for 991.2 new SUMEBore powder-based thermal spray cylinder bore coating solution by plasma rotation.
I believe he is wrong. There are two procedures. 1. PDK clutch. 2. Oil. The Pentosin is the hydraulic PDK clutch fluid. That gets changed every 60k miles. The oil is changed at 120k miles. Misinformation to the maximum at this place.
You are absolutely correct. Jeff Richardson has some excellent videos. His PDK video is OK. But his Servicing the Boxster/Cayamn video is very thorough. Starting at 11:12 he details changing both the clutch and gear oils. If you don't have access to PIWIS I would get an Infared heat detection gun rather than trust my hand. here's the link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f5FMuLzA89w.html
This guy doesnt know what hes talking about. You dont need to disassembly the transmission to change the clutch fluid. I just had the clutch and transmission fluid changed on mine
