Man, I wish I could work for you. I'd leave my job in a second. Love these videos and I really wish you success. Will be buying something from you soon.

Love these talks! It sounds like what you’re saying is, the best baffle is no baffle at all. What are the benefits and drawbacks to putting each driver in its own enclosure that is cylindrical and only the diameter of the driver itself?

another great explanation. My Linn Keltiks have surface diffusion patter machined into the front baffle face to try and alleviate some of the surface diffraction and reflection, but I can see you're never going to elliminate it

Like most things, speakers are a compromise. You can have clarity or sensitivity. Quality or quantity.

Eureka! Thank you Danny! I get it.

hi thx for your fine videos ! couldn't/ wouldn't ? didn't the convex ( curved outward mid ranges and tweeters ) of the Allison acoustic speakers solve many of the issues you discussed and be the perfect solution? it was said they had VERY wide sweet spot and back in the day many thought they were the BEST speakers! is there a good reason someone has not continued to make them and copied, them ? improved upon them ? are there better designs now ?

Thank you Danny. I´m learning a lot on your videos. I have a question for you (sorry for my english i´m from Argentina). I see on the lgk you use a Baffle step circuit with 3 components. And always i see using a resistor and a inductor. How do you use the capacitor in that topology? Thank you so much. Best regards!!!

The cap allows the highs to pass.

@@dannyrichie9743 it's like a bypass capacitor? Thank You so much for the info

Thanks for the video(s), Danny. Why is it that with some music, the speakers totally disappear and all content resides in a wide, deep sound stage behind the speakers...but with other music, I can hear high frequency content originating from the physical location of the tweeters? The best examples are high hats, cymbals and sibilant consonants. Sometimes, I hear all of these things separated from the physical location of the high frequency driver and located appropriately in the sound stage behind the speakers. To elaborate, hi-hats and cymbals will be reproduced in the sound stage as an accurate depiction of their actual physical location within the context of the drum set and how the individual pieces are configured in space (hi-hats just inboard or close to center and behind the speakers), and sibilant consonants come from the center image (or maybe slightly off center and recessed if it's a background vocal) where the vocalist is perceived. But some other times, all the spectral content below the high frequencies is depicted in the sound stage away from the physical location of the drivers, but hi-hats, cymbals and sibilant consonants are perceived as coming right from the physical location of the high frequency driver...as if they're being sucked away from the virtual sound stage that's happening away from the speakers and being projected right from the tweeter? I hear this happening with all different styles of HF drivers....horn loaded compression drivers, domes, planar, etc. and in an acoustically treated space (early reflection vectors eliminated) and with varying degrees of toe in and always with speakers several feet away from the front wall. Is it just in the recording...the way it was engineered?

Some of those differences have to do with how the recordings are made. Some of it has to do with the time arrival aspects being maintained correctly by the speaker.

I wonder if an enclosure that is just a couple of cylinders the same diameter as the drivers, so a speaker with no baffle at all, would sound any good.

B&W Nautilus look a bit like that, but at what Price ?!!

With regards to fullrange drivers, would an LRC contour circuit work as well as a BSC circuit?

Hey there Danny. So guess what? Mistakes are made, then here are your videos with the answers, after the fact. Martin J King has a long article on the circuits. SuperPencil 12s with MarkAudio 11MS drivers, really bad.

sir i want to know if a loud speaker is good in frequency response i mean having almost flat curve what if i add felt on the all baffle i mean is it any improvement doing this?? and if i can add felt on my speakers baffle or in driver surface ??? thanks.
