I did 105hp back in 2007, tore up everything to the left and right of the crank pin. I liked the short stroke my 06 dyna came with, had a way better looking small end on the rods but the number grew and came easier wth the 07 crank. It was within .002 so we tigged it and stuffed it together. After the trans and primary shit the bed, I went to the Mackie Megasphere and to this day, I've never heard the motor ping but I swear my bathtub heads with 1.980 cut down valves had more low end... Love what you're doing here brother, those that listen and don't feel the need to repeat the mistakes others have already made will take away a priceless gift from your videos!

Thanks for the video, and the good info! How long do you think the stock tranny, and stock clutch is going to hold up?

I think Mr. Bryce may be off a bit on his timeline for 100 HP Harleys, but that may be because he was chasing bigger things at the time. In the late 1980s and early '90s we were all trying to duplicate Jerry Branch's 100 HP 80-inch Evo. Many came to the conclusion that he was lying and he had really used an 89-inch stroker (he didn't- his claims were legit). After a bunch of attempts I hit the number with three different motors. Two of them hit 107 HP using Super D carbs with velocity stacks, but the other was maybe a bit more impressive making an honest 100 with a G carb in full street trim. By the fall of 2003 we were making 120 HP from a 95" Twin Cam with a 1.940" intake valve and ported stock head castings. By the next year the same 95" motor with the next "generation" of head porting using a 2.0" intake made 130 HP. As I recall, through most of that time period, almost any well ported 95" Twin Cam would make 100 HP unless it had really "cool looking" (and bad performing) pipes on it. And to be clear, I wasn't the only one getting those results. There were other guys porting heads in our area that were getting results very nearly as good (maybe better and I just didn't hear about it).

And count on heat control up to a air cooled system. Yikes.

Darin Morgan said I should listen to George Bryce. I listened and I like what I hear. When I was younger the only way to get rich information like this was through extensive research, trying to find the right magazine to read and the right article. Videos like this are light years better than those goofy influencers.
