Good to see you with a helmet. Head injuries are terrible. I knew a guy that crashed his motorcycle in his neighborhood. He did not wear a helmet because it was a quick run to the store. They thought he was going to be brain dead, but he had a miraculous recover back to normal. It took years.
Haha yeah man we are quite spoiled here. Some of the roads can be a bit iffy but they are rarely terrible. I love watching clips of you NYC riders zipping around between cars. Live in particular is pretty fearless on his Nik. Fun stuff!
I am really hoping that other wheels will be also be able to modded in this way. When Simon and I were riding and getting his Sherman Max to beep we were both under the impression that it starts the beeps at lower than 80% PWM. Turns out they start at 82.5%! And yeah man I will definitely wear the helmet for the pothole video. I will actually probably wear my Lazer for that one.
It has to be close to that, I have been ignoring the beeps from the wheel on mine as they are pretty hard to hear or I wasn't in tune with them yet before I put them in my ear via Darknessbot. And I had the speed beeps set at 36mph since that is about where the 80% beeps start when I'm finishing my daily commute if I keep my speed a bit below there. I just got the S last week and use another phone to hook up to t that so I didn't have my headset set up yet, but the beeps don't come from a speaker buried inside the case on that so they are easier to hear at speed. They definitely seem to start around 80% PWM so that is probably good enough for me now. I have definitely hit 100% PWM almost daily on the MAX and the darknessbot beeps (Android) may be a bit to subtle to distinguish the decrease in percent of safety margin than the wheel's beeps. Comparing them to the Max that is, I have hit 100% on that plenty of times, but only for a millisec. No cut-outs yet though... That I noticed anyways.

I use Apple Music too and I love it! Man i'm not surprised. Winters in Toronto were sooooo snowy they way I remember them way back in the 80s. Thanks for the feedback about the format. I know what you mean. It sucks out a lot of the feel of the real time reporting. Like making a voiceover of me eating a hamburger lol.
Mike, in your opinion, which EUC won the battle between the King Song 16x and Gotway Nikola? When both of the wheels released it was the first high power match up in the 16’’ category I can remember. Thanks
The 16X is definitely stronger. If I had a black motherboard on the Nik I would for sure flash it to 245 phase amps. Right now it is at 200 which is quite low! Then maybe it would be able to compete with the 16X. My Nik is a fat Nik though with much bigger battery, better range, higher speed. At 10% battery my Nik is still faster than a 16X at full battery lol.
Good question! This is older modded firmware that we were testing. In the end after much testing Bill agreed to make the 80% PWM standard. The firmware available on EUC World is C30 Accelerated Stability with some added features. Lower discharge and also higher phase amps. Firmware versions that Begode release after accelerated stability were also nice but a bit slower by a few kmh. The latest version from Begode even corrected the pedal dipping during turns. But if you want the fastest and most assistive in medium mode then the EUC World one is the way to go.
