How to SET UP your VETERAN / LEAPERKIM Electric Unicycle (EUC)

Couple of things to note/correct: Lynx does balancing at lower voltage also. It uses different bms ic than all other previous leaperkim wheels. That ic is what enables smart bms features and also controls balancing mosfets that bleed voltage using resistors. I couldn't find exact ic just from pictures or battery test pdf, so I don't know exact conditions for balancing to happen(is only in charging or is it always when voltage difference is too high). But I can confirm that it works, I have set charger to 4.15v/cell for more than 20 cycles. And smart bms shows at max 0.017v voltage difference between cells. Also I wouldn't recommend 22A charging on sherman S. Manufacturer states maximum charging rate to be 15A. I have fried bms in sherman s, and wheel has been disassembled for more that half year due to slow communication from manufacturer. It broke while not in charger, but I have used 20a charger on it before that. It should not affect anything since Bms uses exactly same port for wheel use and charger. You'd get a lot more charging current with hard braking than with charger. But you'll never know.. investigation is still ongoing. Also please refrain from talking about politics. World events are much more complicated that we make them to be..

Great info... much of the info your provided applies to any wheel (the various settings and the theory behind the settings, info about charging and battery life, suspension setup, etc.). So I found many useful tips that I haven't been able to find elsewhere (I don't have the Veteran). So once again., awesome video and you rock 🥰

Adam the voltage on the display menu is a cosmetic value, it can also be miscalibrated (sometimes by a whole volt), you have to check the value of the BMS with the APP which is correct and then calibrate the display value according to that. Also you don't have to think about riding only to 20%, that is for individual cells, wheel only lets you ride to about 3.14V per cell before tiltback (113V) unless you enable low battery mode.

There’s a setting in a menu you left out on this video, one that’s in the lynx instruction book, has to do with cell balancing. But as per usual, the instructions for it are vague. If you look a page 3.2 and 3.3 there’s a mention “set running background time to perform battery balancing” and there’s a button press procedure to get to that setting. Anyone have any idea of what that is all about. Is there a balancing function on the wheel itself?

People keep characterizing the 100% charge issue as a problem on hills. I'm having the 100% charge issue on streets with a downward slope, not terrain the anyone would consider a hill. Thx for the video.

Hey! love the videos man. I am thinking of getting my first EUC. I watched your Top 6 Beginner EUC video, but I gotta say. I am not completely convinced. I do get they are slower/more comfortable wheels but I want something I can invest a lot of time in and really push to it's limit, eventho it might be harder for a beginner. I would like to be able to reach a speed of around 80km/h (more doesnt matter of course, since one can always drive slower). I dont plan on driving that fast, but I would like to be able to, if I change my mind in the future. I plan on using it more on regular streets, so the tire should be more on that side, but I would also like to casually drive around the forest or more "off-road" terrain and maybe do some jumps in the future. Is there a good hybrid wheel thats capable of both but leans more on the "road-side" of things? I would also like something with suspension. I heard the Begode Master V4 and EX30 is really good and they also cost under 3 k on sale. Any help would be highly appreaciated. 🙂

Will cells ballance when we full charge even if we lowered the output woltage inside the charger on that tiny knob?

So i just got my Lynx today and my last wheel was an MSP. I have several thousand miles on the MSP but the Lynx makes me feel like i know nothing. Turns are either hard or just too wobbly. Feel like i have to relearn to ride entirely. Currently using 65% Ride mode but if anyone has advice on making it less unstable in turns i would appreciate it. It may just be that I have to get used to the weight increase of this new wheel

What about the 2 silver screws on each shock? I can't seem to find any info on what to do with those

If you want to save your setting change faster you can just hold the ok button again to exit settings mode. That works on the Patton at least. Also when changing the numbered values, you tap the ok button to go up as seen here, but you can also short longpress the ok button (about 1-1.5 second press) to go down.

Is there difference in torque if you are on High speed Off/On?

NOTE:: 23:48 Adam, leaving High-Speed mode on, will drain your battery faster even at normal speeds. Here's the relevant quote: "Torque is proportional to field flux * current. So field weakening will cause an increase in current to maintain torque." Google "Using field weakening to increase max speed of an EUC?" for the source article with links to physics papers on this

My Lynx came with small rubber pieces and a buzzer that I don't know what to do with. The Lynx rocks!

Can you get the full 15 amps from plugging in the wall in the usa?

Using a CE200 to measure voltage, my charger stock was running 152.6v before I reset it back to 151.2-3

WW. Great content! Have you tried using snowboard/ski boots? They have a stiff upper that allows you to leverage the heel/toe pressure by simply moving your hips forward and back. I’ve used snowboard boots on my wheel. (I don’t use power pads) It feels different but there’s definitely more control for acceleration/braking. I don’t have to use as much upper body. I think it strengthens the interface between rider and wheel. You have a lot of experience and skill and more than one device, so I value your opinion. If you can, try it. If you think there’s potential for it, give me a reply. Thnx.

Was tried Shinko 241 at 32 psi.. almost killed myself how unstable it was, but at 26psi its start to shine. So psi depends much on tire thread

I don't have stake in the matter, I am south American. But I think any genuine discussion about suffering or civilians should start by. I feel sorry for the 1000s of people that Palestinian terrorist killed in October past year, some of them burn in the their own houses, and all the still kidnapped in Gaza, followed by the victims of the Israeli RESPONSE. the fact you mention one and don't mentioned the other makes your unfair and bias. everyone should try to remain unbiased. in the case of Ukraine, the is no argument there. Russia should leave Ukraine.
