This does not work. When I swap the 3 phase wires to reverse the rotation the motor appears to try running in both directions until the fuse blows. How do I reverse the rotation easily? Thanks

It's not possible to connect a 3ph motor directly to a single phase 220vac like you have in your house. But you can do it with a vfd. Some vfds even let you connect the motor to 120vac. Go to www.automationditect.com/videos and search on vfd ... you will see lots of examples there. If you are looking for an inexpensive solution search on CFW300, it's an awesome vfd that can run up to 5hp off of single phase!

Given the four wires you have (three phases plus neutral) you just connect them to the motor wires per the diagram on page 2-12 of the user manual here: cdn.automationdirect.com/static/manuals/ironhorsemanual/ironhorsem.pdf Is that what you are looking for? (BTW - You want to use the "Low Voltage" diagrams. The "High Voltage" would be for 460VAC operation).

Why some people swap between l1 l2 to reverse and some like yourself reversed l2 l3

@mindsetmasterytoday319 It doesn't matter which two of the three lines you reverse, as long as you only reverse a single pair. Many manufacturers (such as Fuji, who is manufacturer of the contactors in this video) make reversing bus bars that automatically reverse the phases for you to help minimize the chances of mis-wiring. Take a look at the "Recommended Items" section for one of our contactors at AutomationDirect.com and it will show the bus bars I am referring to.
