I have a sledge on order as we speak. It would be awesome to see the impact force numbers on some of the larger vehicles when jumping them to various heights. I suck at math, but if I understand the online force calculator correctly, dropping a 12lb vehicle from 20ft will produce about 338 pounds of force. Imagine those little rod ends and pivot points, bumpers etc, soaking up this kind of force. For those brave folks who don't hesitate to launch their toys 20+ feet into the air, I bet they might be surprised at the force those toys tolerate before finally breaking. Love the channel and have learned a lot. Thanks!

Such a great job as always on a video! You guys was the first video that I seen show how much flex the arms had. WOW!!! The design just makes me wanna go get one. The only thing I personally would like to see is that all the blue aluminum parts be available in different colors, including chassis.

From all my running so far I match you video from issue to fixing the issue and legit have not been able to break it yet. I’m going to my local spot Sunday afternoon with my ramp and planning to send it! Taking my outcast to get the feel of a relatively good amount of money into it as a comparison.

Very well done with the video. Really went to the extra effort to show little tricks and fixes, while detailing the quality of this vehicle. It’s nice to see Traxxas FINALLY find inspiration from many decades of racing development. Hope they create some entry level race rigs some day.

This is the first traxxas platform I've been interested in (nothing against them, just an rc guy on a budget!). I'd want belted beasties to avoid the ballooning, and then I'd want more batteries!!! Excited to see this progress!!! Thanks for the video!!

The tire issue out of the box isn't unusual 🤣 Got 2 Xmaxx and an XRT, and not one of them didn't have at least one tire come unglued within a day or so. The XRT's tire come unglued and threw out the foam. No issue, 5 minutes and ye ole Traxxas glue and up and running with no problem. Great Video! 👍

I have no problem with the sledge at all, apart from that crazy price. I can buy an kraton 6s for 4200kr(623usd) vs the sledge 6400kr.(949usd) Yes pricing in Denmark sucks. Thanks for a good review.

Its funny, I noticed the dogbone issue last night before even running the car. Added an O-ring on the inner drive and hopefully no issue. Now seeing this vid and the exploded view confirms I was right. I'll bet they revised the parts list because 9680 doesnt seem to exist as a Traxxas part. Easy fix though. Great vid!

I taco'd my chassis on the first run. Not a big deal, I replaced everything with M2C racing. It's a beast! The plastics are much stronger than the Arrma Kraton. I had to put RPM arms on my Kraton. Both are great bashers. Where the Sledge wins is the quick battery swap and the body is so easy to remove and install. Arrma needs to step it up in that department. If they would do something similar it would put them back on top.

Kind of like how when my buddy got one the other day and didn't know he needed the Easter Egg body clips for his batt. tray and it didn't tech. break but it just sat there while he figured out foam and velcro to get his car to run... Ya, those dang technicalities lol

Seems tough for sure. Already having a couple 1/8th scale truggies the 900$ is a little steep for me and gonna pass on it but it does seem pretty solid.

The best fix I found for dog bones is, using the little springs out of a pen. I cut them in half and use it on each side, the spring provides perfect tension

I saw one of these in a hobby shop and I was tempted to get this when it came out, but I didn’t know how well it would do, so I just bought a XMaxx instead. I’ll definitely have to think about one of these in the future!

That's insane! That truck needs some belted tires. They seem like they balloon real easy. I'll wait a little to see if they make any improvements.

Looks like, as a traxxas "hater" (did have/drive slash, bandit, revo but didn't like durability/need for upgrades etc.) they are improving there cars quite a bit lately. Think the xmaxx and this truck are very good examples of it. Only thing is still the price point, but if i didn't have 10 cars already i would give it a shot.

thing what gripes me is the plastic cover skid diff cover plates that always are always produced to sit flush with the screws that always die very quickly because of exposure to the elements especially skateparks on the curved banks.. why not sit the screws more inside and not flush to prevent this.. Still great truggy 👍

I like my 6s Kraton but I think the Sledge has better diffs and some other parts. Body braced on the inside in very nice unlike using a tower by the center diff.

wholly crap, i know their engineering on this is at a whole other level than version 2345 of the ARRMA counterparts, but COME ON TRAXXAS! The Rear dogbone flyin' out?! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! right down to the poppin' dogbones. it happens in my Talion EXB every few rips. Great review as always! Cheers, from Texas!

I think its a fun platform. Would be nice if the servo was better. Replacing that adding droop screws and possibly sway make this a $900 rc easy before tax. I really hope it holds up as Trugs are a blast

I am looking for an upgrade from my JLB Cheetah, and this looks like the one. However, I am not a fan of ballooning tires. I would order some belted tires along with it. Another solid review and information. Love this channel. 🤘. The dog bone issue seems to be a QC problem with the initial release. Happens in manufacturing all the time across various industries with new product launches. No doubt Traxxas will address it. I mean after all….it’s not as if they’re having LSD diffs failing 😏 From there I have two concerns: 1) $800 is pretty steep for a truggy. $700 would be more attractive. Especially when you consider the hop up parts that Traxxas is offering that tie this rig together like the color matched aluminum parts, etc. $800 just misses the mark and I think Traxxas could potentially sell more at a friendlier price point. 2) the tires ballon waaaaaay to much. The slow mo parts of your video really showed how flat the tires get at full power. They expanded like pancakes. Traxxas is supposedly using a new and improved glue compound on these tires. Yet this is the second video I’ve seen where they came apart. Think I’ll give it a few months to see how they hold up over time from those who share their feedback. Keep up the great work guys!

Not alot of room to go bigger, yes tires and dog bone issue, and something eles to check ur mesh, motor may slip, not sure not all the time but it is not easy to readjust if the mess is off motor mount is In The way, bit it looks solid, is it to solid though??? Is vibration running to fewer give points??? Just thinking out loud

Everybody wanted the Erevo when it first came out when I was a kid and the Traxxas sledge came out so now I want one real bad as an adult.

Traxxas got me into this hobby but I've slowly moved towards arrma. Better pricing and the option of getting a roller is great. 800 seems a little too much if I'm spending that much I might as well add more and get the 8s arrma kraton

My slash keeps going, my nephew ran it into curbs like 10 times at full speed no issues.

Our first drive, made it fifteen minutes and the pinion gear fell off. Otherwise, it was a beast!

Got mine 5 days ago :). It's not unbreakable but so far seems more durable than my kraton exb. Waiting on a wing mount, rear body mount (protector over shock tower snapped off), front hinge pin and a rear hub captured pin so far. Pin backed out in the front center drive cup as well. Luckily had another that fit.

I have only two things to say: 1) Replace the stock tires with one of the Pro-Line 3.8" Belted options. Better yet, get the Belted Street Fighters for street use, and either the Belted Badlands MX38 or Trencher HP for off-road use. 2) I want the blue one. 🤙🏼

You guys should put a set of proline hole shots on it and see how it performs on the track.

Way back in the day in a long long time ago Traxxas had a truck called the sledgehammer. Which is where the tires get their name and possibly where this truck gets its inspiration

Where did you get the plastic ramp at? Was going to build one, but the price of lumber might be cheaper to just buy one.

I’ve seen this on a few cars, but I find it interesting that the spur gear sticks out the bottom. I’m sure there’s a reason for that, but if the car bottoms out while you’re giving it a little bit of throttle, couldn’t that grind against the ground? This is a huge car but I’ve seen it on smaller ones. I’m sure it isn’t a problem or else companies wouldn’t do it, but found it interesting nonetheless.
