It's amazing how many things in life we "put off" until we have time. I guess the only positive thing going on right now is that we all have time. Thanks for keeping our spirits high BSR.
Thank you Brian. Great tutorial. I just got my Japanese Mk2 (1987 model) and it came with a loose dust cover. I was wracking my brains trying to figure out how to re-attach the cover to the TT. Not anymore ;-)
Thank you Brian. Since I started really getting into collecting vinyl I have wanted to reattach my dust cover to my MKII. As I Type this I am spinning Chicago IX Greatest Hits. The sound of vinyl compared to any other format is nothing short of amazing.... Thank you for everything you do for the DJ community..... I wouldn't doubt some regular folk find this really helpful as well....
I just swapped out my old Technics brackets for the Reloop brackets and ran into the wobbly plate issue. I was able to avoid taking the whole deck apart by putting it up on its front and gently shaking the unit until the holes in the plates were visible. Then I carefully threaded the two screws through the bracket and into the hole by feel. Voila! No disassembly required. Just a bit of balance.
Hello there! I bought the Reloop dust cover that is almost a replica of the Technics one. Thing is that the screws that came with the Reloop cover doesn't match with the Technics bracket. You think that i have the wobbly plate issue too or is just the unmatched screws? Thanks!
Nice useful video, thanks! I used it to guide my reinstallation of hinge brackets after I took them off and couldn't figure out why I couldn't simply reattach them.
That’s not an old turntable. 1982 models and earlier the bottom part is a lot different than the one you have The old models you can get to the tone arm with out removing that black rubber bottom part You can do it directly. By just removing 3 screws Thanks for the info about the length of the screws. Thanks for sharing.
Hello, where can I buy the original dust cover with hinges as well as the pockets that mount to the plate on back for the cover hinges to slip into? Technics SL1200MK2 Thanks
So if you remove the brackets do the plates come loose inside? As I have removed mu hinges toput int cases but was thinking of taking them out and putting brackets back on?
I appreciate the video. I just got some brackets and went to put them on and couldn't figure WTF I was doing lol. Thought it was just a 1 minute job with a few screws. Didn't realize I had to do all this extra sh1t.
Old video but hopefully you see this, you said this is an old Japanese model? Does that mean it’s the 100V version? If so, how do you handle it being plugged into US outlets? Thanks!
Hi Brian, I'm glad you were able to get the covers back on. I've been meaning to do the same with my pair, but the thing is that I can't find the covers anywhere in my storage. Us there any place on line that you know of that I can buy a pair fairly inexpensive in good condition, like yours?
