A promising start even though there was a mile either side of that boat!

I'm not understanding! Lots of yachts in the 40+ foot range have bow and stern thrusters. I have watched lots of them move sideways. Why do the commentators think moving sideways is so awesome? If the system is reliable this would be helpful for single handing a big boat. "Sensors on the dock" doesn't sound like it will be useful for the passage maker class.

Is there some compelling reason that we shouldn't expect people to be able to pilot their vessels competently?

Censors on the dock???? Well that not going to be much use if they’re needed.

This is a very long docking process....and surprisingly didn’t approach straight. With an IPS system....if you need this system, you may want to look into another hobby

Far more stressful letting the boat dock itself. I thought Swedes were smart???? You could park to of those boats in that space.
