Uwe Grosse, did you ever find that this machine left marks on the leather? I am looking to buy one to work on veg tan and handbags. Do you think it would be good for refurbishing luxury handbags?
These patchers are good for making repairs, but they are not gentle. The sharp toothed presser foot is the only means of feeding material and it will mark certain leathers, especially veg tan. I would not recommend it for repairing luxury handbags. True luxury handbags likely deserve stitching by hand to do them justice. Putting a Louis Vuitton bag on this machine would be a crime.
Good video, this machine looks like Consew 29, is it same ? I have a consew 29 bought used and I'm having a lot of problems with. I know you are too far from me in NJ, any tips on getting it to sew leather properly. Thanks, John G
I'm not really an expert on this class of machines, sorry. Try the Leather Sewing Machine forum at leatherworker.net/forum/forum/50-leather-sewing-machines/
Do not buy from this company, extremely unhappy with their service and machines don’t work nice. Don’t waster your money, You are better of with a Consew, Seiko, yuki or another known brand. Believe me. My Techsew will go to the garbage.
I only owned that machine for a short while. I had acquired it together with other machines, but wasn’t planning on using it, so I sold it. It’s actually one of the nicest clone patchers I’ve come across. I like to fix machines and there was really nothing wrong with this one, so nothing for me to do other than make a demo video and sell it.
