Nice work. Don’t know the UK price, but it is half the price of the 7B in Australia, and that’s on shopping around a lot to get a good 7B price. Seems to suffer a lot more from plosives than the 7B, not sure if you are just more accustomed to using the 7B. Being a musician I’d be interested to hear it with vocals or instruments, as even with talking the 7B has that full warm sound, which is doesn’t.

The pop might be because I wasn’t using the filter with it. And you might definitely be right about being used to speaking so close to it! I’ll try learn a musical instrument next time if I ever do a microphone review again! 😂

I read the sm7b is not really used for VO and the X2 supposedly emulates the daddy of all VO mic's the U87, weird then how they both sound so similar here and if anything i prefer the warmth of the sm7b

The sm7b is such a popular microphone for the warmth it brings to your voice. No post processing was done to either microphone which is incredible. You’ve just got to decide if you want less work in post or spend a bit more money for that warmth. Either way, both are fantastic microphones

I think both microphones have different applications, but subjectively speaking I think the Stellar X2 is better based on the price compared to the quality alone. It's a real bang for your buck
