I just purchased an Apple iPhone 16 pro and looking for a heavy duty external drive. Will the OWC Pro Fx work directly into the phone to store photos and videos and transfer to windows laptop?
@@VanLifeStorytellingI’d recommend buying a cheap usb c sd card reader and some uhs-ii sd cards. Smaller, and if you’re transferring to a windows laptop it’ll be easier as you won’t have to worry about the formatting of the hard drive
Just got the slider. Yes you can use another app for recording - but you need the Joby app to control the slider *continuously*. Unlike with other sliders, you don’t use the app to set in/out points and speed - the app must be running always. As soon as you exit the app (say, on another phone) - the slider stops. Very very bad execution. Do not bother, do not buy. Will be retirning mine
Why would I do that? I've had the watch for a year and it provides accurate health data. Are you seeking validation for your purchase? If so, you most likely won't find it on a video about a complete different product.
Everything was shown using a Mac, but you can use an Android, IOS, PC, or Mac to control it. I'd recommend a Mac or PC though. Bed size is 20 x 220 x 250mm
I have a TV with built in Fire OS. The browser on it is unusable and the UI is extremely buggy and messed up. I would like to use the internet on my TV to use sites like gumroad and redbarradio, however, my TV's default OS is too laggy and buggy (It plays ads perfectly fine on the homepage however). I then started researching which was better, the AppleTV or the Nvidia Shield TV. I soon found out that the Apple TV does not have an Internet Browser, so I was leaning towards the Shield TV. I then saw a video talking about how the 200 dollar Shield TV plays ADS on its home screen. I then ordered an iPhone (Previously Android) so that I can cast my browser to my Apple TV once I get it.
Hey! They’re not simultaneously setup, I have to switch inputs on my monitor and my keyboard to switch between each machine. The usb switch under the desk switches out the speakers for machine to machine.
Great review there Chris. I actually own the edelkrone sliderone but was looking for something even more portable. My use case is recording a camera angle with slider going back and forth in a loop. Other reviews state you can’t use a „pro” video app with the swing but I think you can if you set up the swing with another phone. Can you just program it and let it run, or better yet - program it once and then restart it each time without needing for setting up? Thanks!
@@ChrisWilmshurstthanks for replying Chris! I think I’ll order one and then return it if not happy. My edelkrone is also not without flaws and the Joby is much smaller. I pack my whole multicam studio in a backpack!
Hey Chris...thanks for the video. Surprisingly few for this model. Got the Mini 2 recently and have been really enjoying it...but feel limited by the weight. Wanted a little weight capability, but as a newbie to filming, wasn't sure if I needed all the bells and whistles of the more expensive model. Thinking my M6ii for this gimbal...but I have to remove the cage it lives in to change lenses, so my Sigma 30 (fav lens on that sensor) just lives on that camera now...wondering what focal lengths you've found most useful with this model? Also wondering if you still find it useful a year later...as I recognize this is (I think) the oldest of their current line up?
I went back to a larger gimbal not long after this review as the limitations were causing too many problems on shoots If it helps! I’ve been testing the zhiyun cinipeer gimbal at the moment and it handles my a7iv and 16-35mm perfectly!
If you want all the features minus the action button and best battery life, get the series 10. If you want an action button, slightly bulkier and heavy design with the best battery life, get an ultra 2
Hi Chris - could you show us how to create a long scrolling ticker text from right to left - for the life of me, I am out of ideas... I tried using the frame & fit method but the text is too long for that... thanks in advance.
Hi, unfortunately I can’t. I’m no longer creating content for / or using lumafusion as I believe it’s a very underwhelming app. I’d recommend trying you davinci resolve if you are editing on iPad as there are hundreds if not thousands of tutorials for that.
Are you able to set the volume levels for Siri, calls, navigation, etc. independently, much like you can do on the iPhone directly? For instance, on the phone, you can press the volume buttons during a call and that'll change the volume for calls only; do it while Siri's talking, and that'll change Siri's volume; and so on. I'm asking this because I bought a Carpuride YT09 which _replaces_ the car stereo entirely, but lacks any way of setting volumes independently. It does have a general "sound out" volume slider (which isn't even that great, to be honest) but it has no "knowledge" of the various audio streams that CarPlay receives. As a consequence, I was able to increase the volume for navigation because e.g. Waze does have a navigation volume slider, but Siri and calls remain at a very low volume. Pressing the phone's side does nothing, and the volume slider in Control Centre is locked. Apparently, when CarPlay is engaged, the streams are sent out "without a volume" and it's up to the CarPlay receiver to handle them -- which the YT09 doesn't do. Do these newer, separate add-on units work better in that regard?
These versions use Bluetooth, (at least how I connect it) so however your phone would normally interact with a built in car stereo’s Bluetooth is how it’ll work with your cars
@@ChrisWilmshurst So the phone connects to both your car stereo via bluetooth for audio, AND to CarPlay for the "video" part? Can you confirm that if you are in a call and try to change the volume using your phone, it lets you do that? Forgive me for being a pest and a little thick 😀 but I'm coming from a simple Sony stereo that acted pretty much like a simple BT speaker. It had its own volume knob, but I was still able to adjust the phone's streams independently if I wanted though (though I just maxed them out and called it a day, using the knob for the general volume). This one just doesn't do it, as CarPlay completely "takes over" and I can't bring the calls' volume to the same level as the music, for instance.
If you are looking a way to use the interface without hearing your voice except when recording, the solution is easy (also let's you charge the thing without having to plug 2 USB cables). Just connect your Mac via bluetooth to it.
Thanks for the help, i used 'Go to Folder' and it looks like ~/Library/ also works to access library. I have found some 30 Gig of unintentional screen recordings!
Having one was worth it just for the color calibration you can run via your iPhone. I had a tv that just seemed off and could never get the colors to where I felt they should be.
I'm on 14.6.1 Sonoma and can't find a Reduce Clutter function anywhere? Any ideas anyone. I do see I have nearly 80Gb of System Files, but I can't open up that icon and see what makes that 80GB... ??? After watching the rest of the video I was able to delete a bunch of junk off my SSD, even programs I had deleted still had stuff there.
@@ChrisWilmshurst Ya I saw it but you skim through it fast so I don't know how you plugged all of that peripheral. I will just search around for that particular extension later.
The noise: I don't understand why OWC products are so Noisy, all of them and changing the fan is not going to help a lot (being there done that). You can buy the empty box and buy a pair of Solidigm 31TB ssd 7998$ and get a better price, or buy two thunderblades, link them via thunderbolt and pay far less and have a totally silent platform, aldo with two cables and two power supplies (bricks). The other option is build your own with Sonnet technologies's Fusion U.2 (with haraware raid or software raid) or the M.2 Silent 4x4 or the M.2 8x and the Echo I for example, less expensive very quiet active colled.
Not sure what you are on about with changing the fan, but I’ve had mine running continuous since making this video with a changed fan and it has been completely silent. It has never made a sound. Try the noctua fan next time. But regarding the second half. You’re absolutely right it’s cheaper to buy other setups or configurations, or build your own. that’s the same with any product really. Do what you find affordable and stick with that is all I can say. But mines silent and works great 🤌
That’s not actually a charger. It’s a 3d printed stand just to store either mouse when I’m not using it. It’s designed around the mx, but the 502x fits into it. I use the power play mat to charge my 502x and a usb c cable for the mx
I bought this because I wanted the battery life. I already had a Panerai and a Seiko Samurai, so I'm familiar to big watches...this one is actually really light compared to my other big watches.
0:27, one thing in the start, I noticed that you kept the desktop far off from the monitor on the wooden rack. How did you manage to do that?? I also wish to do the same.
If you are noob in 3d printing then how come you are able to do 3d modelling for 3d printing purposes. I also want to make my 3d design into reality but don't know how to. Can you answer my query.
I didn’t make any of these models, they are all free online. (Links in desceiption), but I have learnt to make some designs in shapr3d on the Mac/ipad. I simply watched a few tutorials online to work out the basics and then went from there
Yes, I know and agree with you about the Xbox being good for all those tasks, but like I said. A lot of people don’t like console gaming (myself included) so I’d rather an Apple TV than a big and loud Xbox. 😊
Any benefit to getting an Apple TV 4K connected to my computer monitor? despite having my MacBook connected to the monitor at all times? haha prolly a dumb question.
how is your computer connected being so far away? extra long cables for everything or do you have a type of doc or station the PC sends a single/couple cables to that then connect to everything?
