I bought the Mark I in August partly because of a generous cashback offer. Since the Mark II will have the same optical construction and similar image quality, according to the press release, I see no reason to upgrade. When the Mark II hits the camera store I suppose we can expect that the price of a Mark I will drop, making this an attractive buy.
If this thing comes out at $1295 I might buy it. If it comes out at $995 it's an immediate "add to cart". If it comes out at $1595... no chance. Let's hope Fuji doesn't get greedy.
When they slap a “Made in Japan” label on a lens, is it possible some components were manufactured in China and shipped to Japan for assembly? That sort of globalism is an issue with many products.
