My family and I went to New York City and planned on walking everywhere everyday and I mean walk from 8 am until late at night. All the young people said, “ Bob don’t wear your cowboy boots and make sure to wear something comfortable .” Well guess what, my Tecovas are very comfortable and I chose to wear them all day and every day because they are so comfortable! Love these boots and I have a lot of different high dollar boots!
When I first found these boots, it was in a Tecovas store in Nashville,TN, and just fell in love with the texture and look, but alas, they didn’t have my size. They were always out of stock…so I waited almost a year before I could get them. When I could finally order them, I did and I love them. I’ve had them about 1 year and a half and they broke in so well and conformed to my foot and heel. The color will darken the more you wear them and they will become your daily walker if you like boots. Thanks for sharing.
I just worked on a new western series coming out on Hulu this year (2024) and my first day getting fitted for my characters costume they handed me some hand made boots they made specifically for me. After wearing them for a few minutes I told them id be wearing my Tecovas Earls for show as comfort would play a big factor into the long days ahead. I worked 6 months at least 12 hours a day on my feet in those boots and at the end of day would change out of the Earls into my Cartwrights and my feet never complained once. Great. Boot!
On the shafts being tight on the legs you can take them to a western store near you and ask them to stretch the shafts. I used to work at a western store and used to have to do that all the time for customers.
Good video, thank you. I have several pair and no longer wear shoes or snealers... boots are so much more comfortable and great support for lower back.
I just ordered a pair of these in hope it’ll help with back pain and foot support cus after years of vans and Nike skate shoes I think I fucked my feet up without any support smh
I like the distressed look. I have a pair of Tecovas in Suede which Tecovas calls the Johnny. They fit great and look great. I have been looking at these and based on this video will be ordering a pair. Love the reviews!
@@nathanroark3339 Real well. The actually look great with use. The more you wear them the more comfortable they are. Only issue is suede is easy to stain with oils so a protective spray is a good idea.
Nice follow up, History Nerd! I wonder if these boots were named after Ben, Adam, Hoss, and Little Joe??? For comparison, I'm in my late 60s and my shaft has no sag. My boots aren't sagging either.
Dear my buddy the nerd...I am Jeff white from indiana...I have ridden horses all my life and have big calves. Have the shoe shop cut the the front and back at the v in the shaft and sew around the new deeper v.....
Just ordered a pair of these. It will be my first pair of Tecovas. It’s kind of crazy that they break in as fast as they do. It took my Ariats close to a year to look that worn in.
I ware Tin Haul and I love them but I will be ordering the Cartwright. Boot in the goat leather I like the distressed look. Great video I’m a new follower to your page
Just received my Cartwrights in Scotch Goat a couple of days ago. They are really comfortable and look great. Love the leather smell when I opened the box. I will be ordering another pair in a calfskin .
Great job pal, thank you. I have a pair of Durango Westward (thick cowhide I believe) boots which I've been wearing since last year. There is still heel slippage however the front sits perfectly fine (sq. toe). I am wonder if the slippage ever going to go away? Your thoughts are appreciated.
Amazons sells inserts they call "shoe fillers" that you put in the toe of your boot so it pushes your heel against the back. I've got some in the Justin boots that I reviewed on my channel because they're just a touch too big. You might want to give those inserts a try.
I’m interested in these boots. They look comfy and nice vintage look. My concern though is that they won’t hold up as well in the long run. If they wear out fast in general than that’s probably a sign they won’t last as long as a calf skin
They're fantastic boots and don't "wear out" fast. They just LOOK weathered and broken in faster than other leathers. I give these boots a four-star, two-thumbs up recommendation.
Tecovas makes a short shaft boot with a zipper I have thought of buying those because of a back issue I have and boots being hard to pull on but worse off and I do not have a boot Jack ,
Brother, just buy an inexpensive set of boot pulls and a cheap boot jack on Amazon, and you won’t have to wear those little zippered booties. Of course, if thats your style, you be you, Chief.
Just going to wait and see when they look like they need a little tender loving care. My experience has been your boots will usually tell you when they need conditioning rather than requiring you to stick to a specific schedule.
After the first treatment with Bick 4 leather conditioner, my Tecovas boots look awesome. Give that a try. You don’t have to treat goat leather as often as other leathers, but you still need to condition it from time to time.
The Tecovas website has a fitting guide that can help you determine what size, width, etc. to order. Just google - Tecovas fit guide - and you will easily find it.
Tecova boots do not hold up. I had a pair that the stitching started coming apart on 2 weeks after I purchased them. Customer service and warranty was a huge hassle and Tecovas would not fix these 2 week old boots. Seriously, they're probably fine as a fashion boot, but these are not meant for anything more than the mall.
I have had mine for over a year and I'm on a farm and on horses very often. I've had no problems at all and the have held up fine. I don't know why people keep saying they are having problems cause I love mine.
@@robertvezse1234 I'm sure they can make a decent quality boot, but it sounds like they've got some QC issues. I could live with that if they would fix the problem, but they won't. For the cost, I can think of a lot better boots.
Have a pair of smooth ostrich and wear them all the time for the past 2 years and they are great zero issues and fit like a glove. They still smell brand new on the inside which is nice as well lol
