I tuned this band on my PL-330 down by the lake in Toronto yesterday, with just a Sangean wind-up antenna strung up in a tree. I heard plenty of traffic on nearly every frequency. It's a great little radio for sure.
I was checking again to be sure as I had noticed a few different brands of long wire reel antennas for clipping onto portable SW whip antennas were all 23 feet long. That seems to be a standard length for some reason, could it be that those different manufacturers all feel 23 feet is the maximum length to safely clip to a portable without risk of damage from static or is there a different reason ? Your advice please
it get me crazy when tune and speaker is going to be muted... Try tune 10m amateur band with such muting each 1kHz step. I sell it ASAP, as well XHDATA 808 and keep PL 600
My PL-330 has just arrived today. It sounds so good! Too bad the knobs on the right are so touch sensitive. The volume knob is tiny bit wobbly, not sure whether it's this copy's fault, or all of them are like that.
I enjoy your videos. I am torn between the 330 and 990. Is it worth to get the 990x over the 990. How can you tell you can get the latest firmware for any. Seems Anon-co is the way to go. Thanks.
Do these radios provide a way to calibrate the frequency display to a known frequency. I realize it's not a thousand dollar hf high end receiver but just curious if it has some form of adjustment to tweak it.
