Great info I have a tecumseh hsk70 130282t with oil coming out heavily at the governor rod. It has no seal on the top. is there one one the inside tha would be causing this leak. thank you
It's a lot to ask but would you do another rebuild in real-time? Thanks. A lot of us would like to give a rebuild a try but need a good video for starters.
Do you have the model number for this engine? I have a tiller and need parts but I don't have the model number for it and your engine is close to the one I need, but not exactly the one
You can use brake kleen and a cloth, I use old micro-fibers so they don't leave any little hairs on the cast parts. A small brass wire brush works great for getting into tight places. If you want to remove carbon, soak with Marvel Mystery Oil.
I have the same HH60 from a tiller, was taking my engine apart to get the flywheel cover off to clean a mouse nest that had been made inside of it. Horrible design imo, I had to take off the fuel tank bracket which meant I also had to take off the entire head, since the bolts that mount the fuel tank bracket are head bolts. Didn't realise that until I got those two bolts off, so I did my best to try to prevent warpage by unbolting the remaining ones in a somewhat even way... hope it's not too warped...
Good to know. Hope it isn't that badly warped. If it is warped, I'll give lapping it a shot. By the way, how did you get your flywheel off of your crankshaft? The service manual calls for a specialized puller. Surely there must be another way, any ideas? If not, I might just go and find one of the pullers, but that would take more time than I'd like.
