We need peoplee like Tedd to do a total overhaul at Eskom. Our energy minister Gwede Mantashe has no clue how to manage Eskom. He is simply icompetent, and our President the same. Think of all the SOE's and departments of state that are substandard and need to be recued - Eskom, SAA , SABC, Transnet, department of healt, SA Police service and the justice system. It is simply a matter of bringing in competent professionals.The same goes for municipalities - they are going to become obsolete. The ANC has to take accountability for this mess. Cadre deployment on a huge scale ruined a once productive economy.

Notes that the lodshedding schedules are being updated to follow Eskom’s loss of load…last weekend Stage 6 was three stops of varying lengths, but by the weekend it is changing to 4 stops a day, same as Stage 8 at the moment…hence by the weekend we will technically be on stage 6 but actually on Stage 8. So they are changing the schedule to hide the fact that we are actually at Stage 8 already. This is like changing the definition of a recession to hide the fact that you are in fact already in a recession…

What a mess…and there are probably 200 wind generators scattered around De Aar, with more being installed, for years now. They are happily spinning away and being maintained by a team of Chinese experts, as per the locals, but the power is going nowhere…with Eskom lines witin eyesight of these farms. What is the deal with places like these?
Another story doing the rounds is that the power is actually being sold to Namibia or Botswana…I do not know which is worse, wasting power or selling it to our neighbours while SA sits in the dark!
believe you me, it's much bigger than what's really being told, just think for yourself the ANC can't give out the truth because then those same ANC supporters' names must be given, the excuse being used by them of the story of the power stations are all old is the biggest nonsense being told, yes they are old but if they get maintained properly they can last much longer, i worked for many years on the gold mines in SA and it all goes about maintenance, and we know a certain ethnic group do not believe in maintaining equipment, they believe in using a item until it breaks down then thy scratch their heads and say "eish what happened now"

@@barbarasattler9138 Not here in Holland. We have too many sources of energy as well as gas and the biggest company , Shell, with sources from outside , not to mention the biggest oil depot at Rotterdam , itself the biggest port in Europe.
The quickest way to add sufficient electricity baseload is to have the French company Total , to develop the gasfield , “brulpadda “ which was found offshore close to Plettenberg Bay . This gas can then be brought to shore to power 12 to 20 large gasturbine generators eg . 7HA General Electric 540MW units . This will add between 6000MW to 10000MW capacity to the grid . The gasturbine waste heat can be used to generate 45 bar steam which can be used to generate a further 1950 MW via steam turbine generators . This will obvious have to be funded party by Government and partly by the private sector .
There has been more load shedding so far in 2022 than ALL previous years combined. The trajectory is only getting worse and worse. They have done nothing to change anything so you can only expect things to get worse.
I've been working on off grid power and seriously most people can't do it or afford it. There is nothing like baseline power and they can't even manage that because of the typical corruption.
