The frustrating part is all these hearings, all these public floggings, all mean literally NOTHING. Nobody is being held accountable for any of this.

The federal government is so bloated. You can get rid of over 50% of the workers, and nobody would notice. Come to think of it, this is also true for local governments.

If we could just get government bureaucrats to quit coming in altogether AND quit being paid, we be better off.

USAID is the absolute worst example of this. Over 90% of them work at home: while they are getting bloated expat salaries and benefits, including luxurious residences where the rents are paid for by the US taxpayer. Unconscionable.

Why should absenteeism be an issue for government employees? Our country is being run by an absentee rotting corpse.

On one hand, it’s disgraceful for these federal employees to be so lazy and entitled. On the other hand, do we really need or want these parasites to keep these bloated departments running?

My personal experience at the VA was that a department head making six figures stayed home, and dumped everything on me, not even a direct hire.

I wish I could have had that much flexability and still recieved a full weeks pay.

I’m a federal employee. My agency pays $300k every year to lease office space for about 30 people. I loathed every day I had to go into that office and watch employees waste time talking, drinking coffee, surfing the internet and making non work phone calls. Zero accountability and supervision. We hire incompetent diversity candidates. Self sufficient, accountable adult employees have no issues working remotely, especially those who don’t interface with customers. I work from home 100% since Covid, I pay for my own electricity, internet and office space and my time wasted has gone down to virtually zero. I know I’m one of the few.

No accountability. No answers. No useful info. No idea what their employees are doing. Pathetic and shameful.

So if people don't need to be in the office than you can save our tax dollars on those that don't show up and actually pay those that actually show up for work. Treat federal workers exactly as the private sector.

There are a lot of government jobs that don't necessarily require in office work. For instance, the Veterans Administration has now computerized all their claims folders, all claims that come in are digitized. Those tasked with processing these claims can do so as well from home as if they were in the office. VA managers track all those who are working from home to the extent that they can tell when their computers are turned on, when they're turned off, and how many key strokes and can actually go in and view exactly what claims are being worked, and can track how much time is spent on each case. When an employee wants time off, he or she has to request leave either annual or sick leave. By not having every worker in the office has allowed the VA to reduce the amount of space they need which means that some money is saved. Truck drivers, construction workers, nurses, etc., are not in jobs that lend themselves to be done from home, so to bring them up is nonsensical.

Everytime anyone answers a question they dodge everything, no matter what level or what dept....no average citizen would have this right, every citizen would be facing penalties as soon as the response was given. Its so obvious 2 sets of law, justice and rules is in place. Its horrifing to know an everyday person ( citizen) facing legal prosecution, inquiry or any type of "on the record legal questioning" would be railroaded for being so uncooperative while those with certain political or governmental positions or connections be exempt from the same actions.😢

I am an idepedent contractor and i show up to the office whenever i am not in the field! I am not even required to show up, but to be taken seriously and to be successful i do! To earn my money I do! These are the American Peoples Employees. We cannot personally moniter whether they are working or not. We cant believe what their supervisors say either. We pay them so they should only be paid with reading from a time clock. Period

My co worker , literally came to work , talked on his phone all day , watched me lay sod for 4 hours by myself , watched me weed eat about 700 feet of ditch , watched me cut about 7 acres of grass , and refused to help me all day long , and then had the nerve to call the man who hired him racist for firing him . I truly don’t get why these people still get to play that card , when truly staying home when you have an office is just lazy , and people trying to make money while doing nothing to earn it . Workers of iniquity is what the Bible calls them . I’ve been a landscaper for almost 6 years . I’ve worked in the rain , in the snow , in the mud , in scorching 100 degree heat . I’ve cut my hands I’ve had blistered my feet ! All to remain a good standing person in the community and throughout my years , I’ve watched over 100 people come and go . To say any job is too hard , or any task to great , is you not only sellling yourself short , but it’s also a cause for many to fall Behind . If you have an office , then your boss should make it mandatory to show up ! Anyone who tries to sneak around the rules of life , are the reason why our country is starting to collapse in on itself . Ted need to learn the difference between not showing up physically to work, and not doing your job. So long as the work is being done, who cases if it's done in the office or at home? The fact he brings up jobs that MUST be done in person as examples shows he's not being serious here and just wants a sound byte. As a tax payer all I care is the work is done. How or where is immaterial to me. If it's done at home and that works better for that employee then that's fine.

Taxpayers cover $2.7 Trillion a year. To pay for their Salaries. Pension Funds. Premium Medical. Vacations, holidays etc...And they still can't show up for work..Shows we can cut their jobs. We can cut the debt in half in 5 years..
