I met uncle Ted working at a gas station in ‘80 or ‘81 just north of Lansing, Michigan. He pulled up in a lifted camouflaged Bronco. Was the coolest cat I had ever met. Nicest guy you’d ever meet. Gave me a $20 tip on a $36 bill.
If I am living in the past, so be it. 1950s-2000s was the era of the greatest music in history. Facts are facts. Some great music is still being made, but nothing like 1950s until 2000s. The R&R hall of fame has done an injustice not recognizing so many bands that contributed greatly to Rock and Roll.
My wife and I used to work security for concerts. We worked at one of his concerts about 4 years ago. I saw him live back in the 80s and he still rocks. We got to meet him and he was a great guy. Not everyone we worked was.
I have attended every concert in colorado that Uncle Ted Nugent has performed at beginning in the 70 s that was Sunday 1# At Mile High Stadium Like says Ted says I will Blow the Balls off charging Rino at 60 paces no problem promise to Rock Your Ass off no other way He s one of Best put s on a Great Show Every Time Rockin n Roll all you you mother s. To Say The Least God Bless Freedom!!!!!! I
Ted filmed a short video of condolences for my friend, Tom S., when he died unexpectedly in June 2021. Veteran. Cop. Father of two. Husband of one. We all still miss you, Tom. Ted was a class act sending a video for Tom's funeral service. Tom and Ted met while Tom was working security for one of Ted's gigs. Conversation and friendship followed. Ted's a great guy.
I wore Aircraft quality deep earplugs which my dad gave me just prior to leaving for a Ted Nugent concert in Dallas, TX. I wore them to every concert and I went to many. That is why I can still hear just fine today decades later.
In 1977 I was at the Super Bowl of Rock, Soldier Field, in Chicago. Ted Nugent, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Journey, and REO Speed Wagon. Ted broke the record that day. People 40 miles away were complaining. Twin 75,000 watt towers. I was all the way on the other side of the field, and it was like he was in my ear. Loud as fuck. Great concert.3 carloads of us went, all tripping on Orange Sunshine mescaline.
Uncle Ted has been overlooked for his guitar playing ability but he is an amazing guitarist. Not to mention the mountains of great songs he’s laid down like this classic that never gets old but songs just as great today as it did the day it was released.
Ted, I'm that kid that yelled your name out at Pittsburgh International Airport in 1980. I cut my lower lip open running and falling to the Bronco to get to your Concert the previous evening. Always was always will be forged by your music.
Always has been, always will be my hero. Ted is 100% badass. He is solely responsible for me picking up a guitar in 1976 and haven’t put it down. God bless you Uncle Ted.
Saw him in about 78, Super bowl of rock at Soldier Field in Chicago..Ted Nugent, Lynrd Skynyrd, REO Speedwagon, Journey and 38 Special. What a concert. Mid field.! Forever memories.
That was 1977. Skynyrd's plane crashed about 3 months later. I was there. I think it was in July. Ole Ted was knee deep in water jugs. It was awesome. Loud as fuck.
Hi Peter Good morning I hope my comment didn't sound like a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful man with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this compliment. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌺🌺🌺
Ted rocks! His former bass player (Johnny Sauter was in my band inthe 80's) I've seen him several times and I was able to spend some time with him after a show in 1988. (He played the concert with a 104 degree temp, jumping off of speakers and rocking the house!) Ted in intelligent, articulate, funny, and intense. I met him a few years later at an NRA meeting in St. Louis . He rememberd me and we ended up having dinner that evening. Shemane and my wife joined us. They're both very good people and they did a lot for the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
You are NOT bullshiting,, 3 days,,, a reporter with Hit Parade magazine ask Ted at Texas Jam 85, what is your greatest accomplishment, Ted says the farmers were mad at the loud music coming from 20 miles away at Arrowhead stadium when I played
The Whole Cat Scratch Fever album is kick ass Deadly Tedly on guitar and Derek St. Holmes on vocals are just the shit. Everything with those two together is killer.
I live in the South and y'all know that we ROCK IT DOWN HERE!!! Always tip my hat to one of the greatest of all time....Ted Nugent!!!! CERTIFIED BAD ASSSSSSS!!!!!
I was in attendance when ZZ-Top and Ted Nugent shared top billing at Yankee Lake for the "Beer Drinkers and Hellraisers Tour. So many bare chested women you couldn't imagine, and the music was FANTASTIC!!!
Hey Ted, In the 70's & 80's Me & my friends had a saying, "You Cool Man, You Ted Nugent", I once brought my guitar strap to your show thinking you'd take it and beat the stage with it, LOL.
Rick. I did too!! Same year. I was in the 7th grade it was my birthday. My Mom took me to see him at a little arena called the Santa Monica Civic. And he was standing on those amps. It was great. Loud..that was a great birthday weekend. Because the very next day she took me to see Thin Lizzy in Long Beach.
Loved the Motor city mad man when I was growing up. Very under rated guitarist. Stranglehold is an all time classic. Top 10 song ever. Love your attitude too Teddy. Tell the truth, dont matter what anyone else thinks!
When it comes to love songs, no one out did Teddy! He knew how to write them and perform them. Lost count at 13 times seeing him- he ROCKED!!!!!! Still going strong. God bless Ted!👍🎸🇺🇸❤️
Ya, he what you say he is. He does love the USA! Still one can love this country and not be a rabid right wing radical! Ted and I chose to disagree on many things!
Alot of political issues & many don't like him now, but you gotta give credit where it's due. He was one of the top rockers at that time & left his mark in the history of Rock-n-Roll Grew up on this & glad I did
@@michaelstratton6701 Ted's "political issues" are that he's an outspoken conservative... and soy-boy (sorry, soy-its) don't like it... so they claim he has "issues."
I saw a clip of a video from Cal Jam ; he was standing on top of an 8 to 10 foot tall speaker with the sun coming up behind his back. Tearing it up,then he jumped all the way down to the stage without missing a note. I grew up listening to uncle Ted; we had some great music on the 70's and 80's Oh, I had the double live gonzo on vinyl , until my sister took it to a party without asking.
@@JerryRiceBall I wondered about that going back to "Journey To the Center of Your Mind". As a kid high as a kite on LSD, I was sure the song was about LSD. Surely Ted knew that. His guitar leads are stony as in that 1968 psychedelic hit.
Gotta say the halobody with the humbuckers with fender amps cranked to 11 he made it his classic sound .Can recognize it when it come on the radio. Long Live rock & roll
I was introduced to Ted Nugent as a senior in high school. 1977 and I heard a song coming from a boom box and it was Ted, I was then a fan for life. Cat a scratta fever.

Finally a live clip of Nugent where you can actually hear Rob Grange. His bass seems to get buried in the mix on alot of the live clips. His bass stands out pretty good on the records though. Great Underrated bassist.
I LOVE TED NUGENTS SUPPORT FOR FREE SPEECH and SUPPORT FOR DONALD TRUMP. Love Free Speech, Ted Nugent,Donald Trump and a Free Constotutional American lets go Brandon
@@KittyGrizGriz some men are supportive..not every man can reach down and say.the waters fine.. when we stand on the field.hes on my side..so.go take a walk ,and when you come out.look.what side of the field are you on. Semper Fi , free hole..
@@billysheppard6091 thank you for serving. Both my father and only son are Purple Heart combat vets. Dad was Army 10th Mountain Division WW2; Son was Afghanistan~Iraq. Saw Ted perform several times in 70’s. Can’t get behind MAGAt~White Christian Nationalism taking away women/girls healthcare & anonymity today. Power and Control from the so called “party of small government”. Anti LGBTQ; taking away books etc…right out of Hitlers playbook. Peace💞.
God Bless America.......... why is it some Americans parrot that idiotic line so much? Is it brain washing? Like God (if it existed) would give a shit about America given what it does.
For those of us that used to rock this very performance, intro and all, on Nugents greatest hits, it's crazy seeing the video to it 25 years later. I just remember being a teenager listening to him talk and thinking it doesn't get any larger than life than that. I still feel that way, Uncle Ted has confidence for days.
Saw the nuge at cal jam 2 at Ontario motor speedway in 78. He was flanked by giant walls of speakers and hits this note as a crow is flying by in front of the stage. The bird went down like a rock and the crowd went nuts. Granted, I was high as shit so maybe I just imagined it 😅
Saw him half a dozen times when there were 3 bands like Aerosmith and Kansas joining him then several outdoor venues like Chicago's Superbowl of Rock at Soldier's Field(Skynryd, .38 Special, Journey, REO).
