Uncle Ted is a masterful guitarist, an American Patriot. I wish more Conservatives in Government had his courage and charisma. I'd give anything in the world to meet him. Cool as Elvis Presley in my opinion.
Pisses me off that political beliefs have anything to do with it. He supports our constitution and bill of rights.... Wow that's controversial!!! Let's get back to the music, shall we?
I absolutely have to agree regardless of my political views. I have resisted listening to the song since 1979 because when it was popular my grandfather was dying and it felt like my whole world was falling apart. At this point in my life though, even though I feel like I have so much more worldly knowledge, music absolutely has nothing to do with politics. This man at the time and the music that he made in this moment is timeless.
Whoever said Nugent isn't one of the best guitarists in the history of Rock is either out of their mind or they're tone deaf. This man is an absolute legend.
One thing is for sure the solo is too long in this song, I like the original version I don't know if this live version is a little longer but it seemed a little too long for just guitar solo and no singing
Yeah he just does things like live with a 17 year old girl while he’s in his mid thirties, have kids with other women while married to a different woman and not give proper cowriting credits to bandmates screwing them out of money. If there was anyone who would have benefited from a DMT trip or two, or dozen or more it’s Teddy.
He also dodged the draft in Vietnam (even though Ted loves guns). Courtney Love says she gave Ted a blowjob when she was underage...that happened a lot with these 1970s guitar gods (Jimmy Page). Still, the '70s was a great time to grow up. SO glad there was no internet/social media back then.@@awcindy
Ted definitely liked the YOUNG teenage girls back in the 1970s. I will NEVER defend a man having sex with an underage girl, but the '70s were a crazy time; great time to be a kid, though: biking, skateboarding, reading books (not iPhones), surfing, and listening to all that amazing music: Zep, the Who, Stones, Eric Clapton, AC/DC, Nugent, Queen, Humble Pie, UFO...you can go on and on.@@awcindy
❤❤Totally Perfection love Ted Nugent and all of what he stands for PATRIOT AMERICAN CITIZENS FREEDOOM,TRUTH LOGIC AND COMMON SENSE AND MUCH MORE ,HE IS PERFECTION THIS ROCKS MY DAY TO FULL AWESOMENESS ❤❤
Regardless of your political beliefs, to be in a neutral position, Ted Nugent is nothing short of a guitar God!! He is without a doubt and without dispute a rock and roll legend. That, will never be taken from him! I agree with Ted Nugent this man not only is a rock and roll God capital g!, but he is also one of the greatest Patriots in the United States of America fighting the fascist lift
Ted's been killing it for over 50 years and still going strong! To those who wonder why he's NOT in R&R Hall of Fame im pretty sure people running Hall aren't fans of hard rockers or conservatives
I saw him in 78 when he opened for black sabbath,I sat 30 ft.from the amps and my ears wrang for a week.to this day it's still the best concert I've ever been to.
Did Ted sing the lyrics? I believe on the studio version it's the rythm guitar player's voice. All of it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4kBIhOn_9CM.html
@@ravenbishop5232 hi.. he sang at that concert that night.hes a wild man for sure. I'm going check and see if it was recorded that night.if I find it I'll let you know.just watched some of his more recent ones.the man still got it...stay safe
What a showman, definitely one of the top 100 guitarists of all time and who cares what Rolling Stone magazine says? Ted Nugent sold over 40 million albums, not singles but albums. Joan Jett was chosen because she's a lesbian and that's it. Nugent was and is about as cool as you could possibly ever be and he never used drugs or drank and just like President Trump the more they hate him the more likable he is.
Ted Nugent is not only one of the best guitarists of the 70s rock era but had 11 top 100 hits (most of those big hits he wrote)...and a buinch of triple-platinum, double-platinum, and gold records in the US and Canada. He was HUGE - THE top-grossing live act in the USA 1977 thru 1979!
I've often heard that about him being the top grossing act but I can't find proof, and if you can't give the link to these RU-vid dipshits they say you're Lieing.
Plus some years ago he was on Miami vice so he a actor all so. I was working at k mountain bike's some of the painters were hunters an they new all about Ted Nugent I had pass thence a friend he said that he didn't like Ted so I stopped an said get out of my truck . End of story
He WAS the biggest grossing touring act during those years. It was Zeppelin that were the biggest selling rock act in the 1970’s. Kiss dominated selling merchandise to kids.
One of the greatest rock songs ever written by any band. In the league of Detroit Rock City and Heartbreaker. Definitely one of the best guitar solos ever played.
I love Uncle Ted's Music, Politics, Hunting beliefs and care of animals in the wild and on his property. While none of us are perfect, Ted lives a life as close as it gets.
The only problem is that Trump is the greatest liar in modern history and a cancer on the soul of America. An absolute scumbag. You haven't noticed somehow??@@regularjoe621
Mastodon. Dave Grohl. Chris Cornell. Alex Lifeson. Killing Joke. Queens Of The Stoneage. Incubus. Luther Dickinson. Anthrax. Prong. Billy Corgan. Nita Strauss. Evanesence. Electric Wizard. Nashville Pussy. Halestorm. Tetrarch. Devin Townsend. The list goes on. Lots of hard rockers and metal heads playing hollowbodies.
@@skeletalwreckmost of them play semi hollow guitars with blocks in the middle. Ted plays a weird short scale fully hollow guitar with no noise gate. No idea how all his concerts aren’t just uncontrollable feedback 😂
The campus security walked around the Assembly Hall at the University or Illinois in Champaign-Urbana in 1978, measuring the decibels. That wall of speakers....Yeah, it was the loudest ever! And every 16 - 20 year old loved it! Rock on Ted! 🇺🇸
@@RedtideFla yeah Jeffrey, let me tell you a story. My mom work for the cowboys since day one (the Texans), her and tex shram, my mom knew the owner of Ticketmaster, I could be anywhere in the country, (probably the world) and I could ask my mom for as many tickets as I want to see a show, that would be waiting at the courtesy booth. I like a band that can sound like your album live, there are people who argue or they like for a band to freestyle, I argue if I go to hear Tchaikovsky's 7th movement, I don't want to hear it any different but then the way it should be, Boston live was incredible (you would think they were lip syncing it was so perfect). My favorite band live is ZZ top, for a three piece band, they sound awesome. I seen them in '79 at the Winter garden in Dallas, New Year's night, 3000 people capacity, I can assure you it was the best, the band was just so on point.
I've seen Nugent Live 4 times in my life. Three times as Ted Nugent, and once with the Damn Yankees. Make no mistake about this, Nugent can still plug up and jam with the very best of them!!! He's absolutely one of the greatest guitarist "LIVE" that I've ever seen strike a note!!!
@@kathyproctor3165 the song is a metaphor about defiance… mostly regarding the government and those in control. It was written in the 70’s when a lot was going on… Vietnam Nam, etc You should read up about lyrics and what the writer is trying to say instead of assuming. TN has been married for years to a beautiful wife and he isn’t abusive. Please do your research before commenting.
Ted Nugent has that gritty rock sound, that only he can produce. It's like heavy country rock, and almost punk sounding at times. I think when you can produce great sounds that are hard to classify, that's a sign of real talent. He goes full blown heavy metal with the guitar by the very end. His guitar skills are extremely underrated! I had no idea. I'm a drummer, and I think the whole band was solid as well. This is my favorite song of his, and this live version is like a testosterone injection!
I'm from the Detroit area, and grew hearing the Motor City Madman, but never got the chance to see him live until last year. He rocked the hell out of the place! When he did this song, it totally blew my mind!! OMG, 60 years old and still played as great as ever, and actually looks better now than when he was younger. He's the perfect example of what REAL talent and passion is in music.
@@KittyGrizGriz he says he's never spent one dime on alcohol in his life. Claims to have never smoked pot or done drugs either which were not to judge... We'll leave that to God.
@@KittyGrizGriz I don't judge.... His wife Charmaine is beautiful and intelligent and kind and he does run one of the best sporting shows on TV... Spirit of the wild.
Just amazing the way he can switch pickups on his guitar and then change the tone and volume so effortlessly. If you weren't watching, you wouldn't know. At the same time he could sing to you or talk to you like the guitar part was just second nature.
I saw him in the warehouse in New Orleans, the place capacity was 2000.Some how they ended up with 5-6 hundred more people. They had a fence around two feet away from the stage. The crowd was pushing so hard it knocked the fence down, broke it along with a few broken legs that were against the cemented fence. I was in the front row for a while. I had a t-shirt on when I made my way to the back of the crowd my shirt was touching the ground. There will never be another like Ted Nugent, thank you Ted Nugent for sharing your unbelievable talent❤
First time I heard this tune I was at a carnival riding the toboggan or something lights at night the song just blew my mind I didn't want it to ever end, bought the album and wore it out, in Detroit Ted was king
Thanks, mister Nugent...Great song, great performance...I loved this song from the 70's...And i'm now 55 years old and still loving it!...You're great man....Thanks!
Love ted definitely knows how to play that guitar as good as any guitarists in the world been really getting into his music since I came across him few years back
I saw him in 70's at Salt Palace in Utah. He came out on stage swinging on a rope,in a loin cloth with that long wild hair playing Cat scratch fever..That was awsome. He's a great guitarist, no doubt...but very egotistical..& nowFORGET IT!
Black and didn’t even get offended about the hat joke. This man is a LEGEND. Not too many musicians built like this man. Stayed true to himself from the beginning of his career all the way up to this very point. He didn’t go for the crossover. He is unapologetic. A disciplined musician. He is a MUSICIAN. I listen to everything but when it comes to rock……Ted is definitely in my Top 10. I’d love to sit and listen to this guy tell stories about his rocking days and his hunting stories on his ranch. The skills and knowledge this man has is something else. Rock on Ted 🤘🏾 🤘🏾.
The R&R Hall of Fame is GARBAGE. As political and "woke" as Jollywood -. If you have a different opinion than theirs then your OUT. Unfortunately, this has happened to Ted - but the COOL part he Doesn't Give a Crap. He Knows he's one of the Best guitarists EVER, so he lets his music do the talkin' - Nothing but Love and Respect for my friend
I got goose bumps and tears listening to stranglehold the memories of my Michigan life man I had a Olds 442 Woodward Ave Detroit cruising to Ted what a blast.!
Amazing how he took a guitar that would normally be HORRIBLE when using huge amps like that…He uses the big body jazz type guitar and uses the uncontrollable feedback you’d get because of all the vibration to his advantage😂Gibson Byrdland is iconic because of Ted❤️
He takes a guitar with more disadvantages and uses it to his advantage. When Bell invented the phone, he might have had a missed call from Chuck Norris, but when the guitar was invented, it was the Ted Nugent model.😂😂😂😂
Ted had a show scheduled at an outdoor venue in Charlotte, NC back in the mid 70s. I was mulling around outside the gate when a group of guys came throlling by. A dude said, "Fall in, we're going to crash the gate". So I followed them. We marched around the outside about twice, each time the crowd getting bigger. It swelled to several hundred. As we made our way near the main gates, we heard the first thundering chords of Ted's guitar. At the very moment, this crowd of Nugent maniacs ran towards the gates. You could feel the ground shake as the security guards took off runnig. We pounced on that gate and scattered like rats through the crowd. What a night. So, Ted, I owe you $5 the next time I see you.
Excellent! Would like to see Trump use this during his campaign. Love watching Ted on Spirit Campfire. Tune in to this show if you haven't yet. What a great patriot and a talented musician!
