@@lawrenceferriter7010 so do you hunt in a big field of grass??? With no corn, beans, water, acorns, hedgeapples, within 1,000 acres of where you hunt?? It's ALL BAIT you fucking idiot. Whether it's planted by a farmer, by God himself, or bought in a bag or block or liquid. And used where it's legal. Let us know how you do in that grass field pussy
Maximus Durden: I think it’s because you/we elected them. You have the opportunity every so often to un-elect them and elect someone else to complain about. Or you can run for office yourself!! Then everyone can complain about YOU and YOUR decisions.
Thank you Mr Ted Nugent for being the voice for us hunters that have to work for a living and cannot get to meetings to defend our self and our sport against the political bureaucracy. Thank you
Because they are conservationists! They pay mose of the tax dollars to pay game wardens salary. Hunting game keeps the population to a safe level so ALL game stay healthy through the winter months. Hunters pay hundreds of dollars a year for licensing to hunt. Most go without getting anything but good time.
If you think about it, if you're a farm owner and deer are eating your crop, you can apply for a permit and kill every deer in season or not, at any age. Isn't that baiting in a way? You grew a crop that brings in deer. Why can't I throw corn down, nourish the deer with a good diet, then kill it when I feel it's well matured? I hunt farms all the time. I have a soybean farmer that can't wait until rifle season starts so we can start thinning them out.
Vici Veni Viddi nobody is trying to stop us from hunting. especially the deer biologists. for the record I agree that the ban is ignorant, but come on... take off the ted nugent tin foil hat, it has nothing to do with guns or car insurance companies.
haha and all you high IQ geniuses can stop hunting. no anti hunter or baiting ban will stop me from hunting. if you knew how to hunt you wouldn't need bait anyway.
@@mattmeekhof107 lol that's the problem, liberals always stick together, agree with each other but Republicans, are soft people that would cast another Republican out because of things not always even political
Hell YES!!!!!! Thank you for standing up for this subject and hundreds more on hunting. Thank you for your conservative views and being a GREAT AMERICAN!!!!
30 years go you could have blown Ted off but today he has proven his knowledge about wildlife. He spends hundreds of hours each year studying his prey. Like an old time long hunter he has more knowledge about the game he hunts”responsibility “ than most of these weekend experts will ever have.
@@billmanus8917 From what I see there she was 17 and her parents consented. Not a pedophile. Unless there's something else i was missing. (it's perfectly legal to marry anyone 16 and 17, if the parents agree in most States, and Countries.) Further from what i saw there, there was no grooming going on as one of the posters alluded to. I also have no problem with him dodging the draft, it was unlawful of the government to do in the first place. Now, is it really morally or ethically acceptable to marry someone that much younger than you. I'd say no. However I only fault him for getting a divorce from his previous wife.
People that are for the bait ban will pay in dollars when their kill tags cost more next year in order to make up for the lack of hunter participation.
@@scottdaley1672 no it’s not. That’s the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard. 🙄 I’ve eaten deer my entire life of 20 years and not once gotten sick from it. Deer is just as healthy as pork or beef.
@@scottdaley1672 Deer meat is actually some of the healthiest meat you can eat. Also, it’s disgusting of you to wish sickness on someone. What a horrible person.
I salute you Ted! You speak the truth! They wouldn't know the truth if it hit them up side the head! Thank you Ted! Come to Tennessee and tell it to the numb nuts down here!
Of course, they did it anyway....then had to bait and use spot lights and hire "sharpshooters" to thin them out...at our expense. In my area, hunter harvested deer numbers are down...and roadkill numbers are up.
@Austin Martin and with insurance claims come higher premiums for EVERYONE insuring cars in that region. That’s secondary to the medical bills and ,unfortunately, loss of human life resulting from deer strikes.
@@testy462 "Do as we say, not as we do". I work at a county airport, that is fenced, but deer still get in from time to time. We're usually able to get them out, but sometimes, they'd have to be "taken out". We used to get tags and I'd take em out, butcher them myself and divide em up with people that worked there. They changed the rules and now we have to hire "sharpshooters", that come out in the middle of the night, with spot lights and thermal scopes on their rifles. We're not allowed to even hunt with rifles (southern MI), and certainly not at night. During the last bait/feed ban...numbers increased so much, they'd dump corn by the truckload...then pick em off (at night) by the dozen.
I'm not much for putting anything down on RU-vid... thank you for what you do! I'm almost positive that theres a million hunters who look up to you! Thank you again!
@Clarence Kayser: Ted Nugent’s idea of hunting is to fence in a bunch of deer, throw out a handful of corn and then pop them off with his big-boy gun from the back porch, so he doesn’t hurt himself walking through the bush. Michigan should actually ban Ted Nugent, the great white hunter, like Alaska and the US National Parks Service had to do for illegal bear hunting. The guy is an embarrassment to real hunters.
@Clarence Kayser: You need to educate yourself. Oh never mind, I’ll do it for you. Ted Nugent was convicted of, and admitted to an illegal black bear hunt in Alaska in a court of law in 2012. He was fined $10,000, prohibited from hunting or fishing anywhere in Alaska for 1 year, prohibited from hunting or fishing on any federal parklands anywhere in the United States for 1 year and was placed on 2 year’s probation. As for his fenced compound, he has animals trapped inside that area and he sells tickets to groupies to “hunt” them. He’s NOT a hunter, he’s a washed up billy goat. I spent a good deal of my youth getting to know the woods since I grew up in the country. When I moved to the city in my teens I still maintained a deep infatuation with the woods and I continued to hunt and fish when the opportunity arose. I gave up hunting many years ago but I still fish once in awhile. BUT there are two things I’ve never done - I’ve never hunted animals trapped in a cage and I’ve never fished in a bathtub. You can idolize Mr Nugent all you want but I grew up with real hunters. That’s your education for today, and I’m sorry if I burst your fantasy with truth.
@@harry80124hill He does not deny the existence of the disease at least not in this video...he is telling the brain trust that is the state politicians elected by the people of Michigan, that you can't control deer behavior or stop CWD simply by prohibiting baiting. He would be dead right about that. The man may be lots of things but an idiot is not one of them. The intelligence of those that make that claim are the ones I would say are idiots. Liberal idiots at that.
Take it from an x Californian, It's all about control. When the game wardens stopped their salaries being paid by tags and licenses and started getting paid out of the general fund they immediately turned into gestapo Nazis . We love Missouri.
You do get vote for the governor who appoints the head of the DNR. So when the governor runs for re-election get off your ass and go vote. P.S. Where were you when she was elected? Did you vote?
He's an idiot. He says they're gonna swap spit anyways so let's just create an act (baiting) where they swap spit even more? Stop being a baby and hunt correctly
@@patrickbuildsit I have hunted deer since I was about 18 and I am 62 now. I have never been able to use bait. In fact my daughter and I have each got a deer so far this year. However what Ted said are all facts. In Michigan as far back as I can remember they have as always been able to bait deer. So I can see where a lot of hunters there could possibly stop hunting, or turn into criminals if they continue to bait. Everything about the licking branch, and licking each other were true though. I would think feeding through the winter when food is more scarce, would be a much bigger problem in transmitted disease than during hunting season, because deer will congregate more due to the loss of abundance of natural supply.
@@patrickbuildsit everything is bait you cottonheaded ninnymuggins, you wouldnt go to a big field of short grass to hunt would you? no. there is no reason for the deer to be there. baiting is no different than waiting by a corn field for a deer.
First off, I'm not a hunter. I agree with Ted... And for those of you who are ageist baiting... Do you fish? Better not put a worm on that hook then. Or use artificial lures. How about hunt ducks or geese? Don't use calls or decoys. How about trap? Don't put anything in it.... Just saying.
You're trying to make it seem like dumping apples on the ground is the only way to kill a deer. Except if you actually put in the time and the effort to find the deer and setup where they travel, they can walk right up to you without having to use bait of any kind. Baiting is just cheating. If its applied by humans and it's a guaranteed thing. Whether it's apples, corn, salt blocks, mineral blocks, cmere deer, deer cocaine or what have yah. Hunting over that site is just cheating. If a person just puts bait out and hunts over it, that's not hunting. That's cattle to the slaughter. Or in this case deer. At least with food plots theres the risk of the plot not growing and dying before it even has a chance to bear anything, and with a plot of a decent size it still gives the deer more of a fighting chance because then they aren't exactly secluded to one spot to eat what's attracting them. Whereas with bait, they have to go to that spot the human has laid out if they want to eat that particular item. Hell, they could ban all baiting during season and I'd be fine. If you cant harvest something without putting bait out, you're not much of a hunter. And I'm not sorry for that comment. However, exploiting an already, nature available resource is a different story. If you find a grove of apple trees and hunt in that, I feel that's different because at least you're not the one putting the apples out.
Quinton. Whether u bait to hunt or if YOU believe its not ethical is not the reasoning behind the ban. Its not to give poor little Bambi a better chance so you feel better. Its to stop chronic waste disease,,,, which is absolutely false. So to ban baiting because of CWD is idiotic. So, if they want to ban it because of someone ethics, say that then. But, dont ban something that will not have any effect on what you want to achieve by banning it.
@@2ndamendment1776 What you are missing is that skill level is not the debate here. If you choose not to bait, or only to use a longbow and hunt from the ground, that's your personal choice. What is being said is that eliminating baiting will not keep deer from having nose-to-nose contact or eating after one another elsewhere. Therefore it is simply a political decision and not a scientific one. Now, as far as the "cheating" comment goes - do you think that hunting is a game? It is not; it is merely a food-gathering activity and a resource management tool. How you choose to gather your food (or fail to) is up to you, as long as it doesn't hamper logical, ethical, and effective management of the resource.
I'm not all in with Ted Nugents ideas on everything. He does make great points on many topics tho and I'm always open to listen to anyone's views on topics concerning me. I absolutely agree with him on this. Legal baiting had rules of its own and you could bait enough to increase your odds of feeding your family for the year. I got 20 hunts in this year working around my work schedule. so some were only 3 hrs long but I put good time in. I didn't get one deer this year!! Not ONE!! I process everything myself to make sure quality and cleanness of the processing is good and it saves a bunch of money. Two deer is plenty for my family and one we just have to make due with fewer meatloaf and taco Tuesday nights :( . With zero deer this year. Its just going to be hard and sucks that I have to buy beef from the store. Our freezer is empty. My dad didn't' get one and my brother was in the same boat. Thanks for trying Ted. I do appreciate you and your free spirit fighting for us. I'll keep praying next year is better for me and the family.
@@candicecolbath8781 He wrote a song about it called jail bait where he jokes about telling a cop not to arrest him but to arrest the underage girl and they can both share her.
Never used a corn feeder and I’ve brought home the at least 3 every year since I started hunting years back. A hunter doesn’t need bait. Because were hunters. Not baiters.
I’ve said this for some time now, the deer will make contact with each other, and we can’t stop that. So I’m now buying a tag this year, I’ll be hunting deer in another state!! Screw Michigan’s DNR!!!
@Matt Nicholson whole I fully agree with the way you feel,I don't know if that's the best way to go about things, you gotta remember things like Waco,Ruby Ridge ,and Rainbow Farms,in the end the government will not be shown up
You old fucks are really quick to defend a chomo... I'm all for hunting for food rather than supporting the bullshit meat industry but if THIS is the asshole you guys elected to represent your cause, you fucked yourselves from the start.
Wow, everyone's very sensitive... I do not know Ted or Courtney, I wasn't there at the concert when courtney went back stage. I'm 40yrs old, just stating if you weren't there you prob don't know the facts either! Don't be careless by throwing out words like rape and pedo.
Torn on this one. I have to travel miles from my home to hunt a turkey. And I won't hunt near my home cause the womern feeds the turkeys. All about hunting not on point with baiting. Find em wild, throwing food is bad, knowing where food grows naturally is just smart harvesting. Hope no one hates me, love ya Ted.
@@eldoabrahamson who cares the constitution. Say you have the rights to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, no one should be forced to die for foreign situations, the draft was seen as a bad thing hence why it’s no longer used
The government wants the American people to be dependent on them. This is why they pass laws that don't make sense and force people to pay a hunting tax/hunting license to steer people away from from being a hunter/gatherer. Why let people harvest rain water, hunt for wild game, cultivate their own land when we (the government) can force the American people to be slaves and tax them to death. Being a hunter/gatherer is a life skill. It's passed down for generations and possibly for thousands of years. It's a God given right! No one can take this right away from us!

he didnt do anything but make himself look bad to us hunters. why is mr hunter baiting instead of hunting? baiting is for those who cannot hunt, plain and simple
@@Bidwellz9 lol you do not hunt. Go tell that to someone else. If you don't understand what he just explained i can not help you. But no you do not hunt.
Big thanks to uncle Ted for all the MI hunters. For youngsters especially, baiting allows a fun experience while hunting and allows a higher chance to get some deer in close; in return, it will keep kiddos in the woods if they have fun while doing it. On top of that, I believe baiting can fit in with normal deer management practices allowing access to minerals and late season herd recovery. I do food plots and the whole 9 yards and still feel baiting should have its role in deer hunting. Just my own thoughts.
I grew up with a father who hunted moose duck all kinds of animals we ate what he killed people don"t understand. If the deer population gets to large they can starve and become sickly that to me is worse on them than becoming food for your family. My dad said we are thankful for there life and Blessed they nourish our bodies. We respected all animals
Ted is the best Conservationist on the planet !! And an excellent 2nd ammendment spokesperson. Pedophile ? NOT !! I personally was a 2 Ted sponsored Kamp for Kids weekends. Ted was unbelievably sweet yet stern with the kids. They all adored him and he was mentoring and teaching about hunting and being an outdoor steward !!
And my Father was in the Korean War. He ABSOLUTELY hated it. And told me the truest words ever... On American soil , I will fight to my death. But I will refuse to let my sons go fight a mishap war in another country. That , has never helped Americans !!

He doesnt know shit, he "hunts" cage animals in a 10ft high fenced in property. Im a hunter he is a worthless loud mouth that makes us all look like idiots
Parker Carter: Yeah, like when he whined he didn’t know Alaska’s bear hunting regulations after being heavily fined, restricted and placed on 2 years probation for wounding one bear and killing another because he couldn’t be bothered to track the first one. You’re right...he knows sh*t.
Ted knows his shit he's hunted everywhere in the world low fence - no fence wide open he does know what the fuck is talkin about and as far as the bear that got shot and he got in trouble that's a bullshit law that's like saying hey you shot 15 times that's your limit but I seen you shoot three or four of them and knock the feathers off of them but they kept flying you don't count the ones that you knock the feathers off of and you limit you didn't kill him the same with deer hunting if you shoot a deer and wind it can't find it whatever that's not part of your bag limit and any person that says otherwise is a liar any hunter every hunter that is hunted a good amount of time has shot and wounded a deer that he could not find and he went ahead the next day the next week whatever and filled his tag anyways because that's the law you didn't Harvest animal you don't tag it if you harvest animal you tag it it's not rocket science I don't know how many people that have shot did and thought they hit them good couldn't find them come to find out a month later come walking right by them again perfectly fine So for anybody that wants to disagree with that answer next time you shoot a deer and even knock the hair off of it go ahead and turn your tag in your done hunting
Yep, all the whiny Michigan baiters might want to try something new, it’s called actually hunting. It’s fun and rewarding. At least the playing field is leveled, so you can’t use the excuse that the “other guy” is using bait, so I have to. Many states have had baiting bans for many years, and they still tag deer.
I used to live in North Carolina Greenville North Carolina to be exact a bunch of hunters found out I love to hunt and asked me if I wanted to go deer hunting with them of course I said yes. We went to a set of woods they turned a bunch of dogs loose at one end of the property got in their pickup trucks and drove about two miles to the other end of the property got out the rifles and lay them across the hoods of their trucks I waited on the dogs to run the deer to them. then they shot the deer I didn't shoot that was a poor excuse for a hunter. I got into a big argument with them I said you guys are not Hunters you're just butchers you ruin the sport. how can you brag about the buck you shot when you're sitting here drinking coffee smoking cigarettes got the radio on your pickup truck on your gun on a sandbag on the hood of your truck is that hunting. When I deer hunt I sit in my tree stand and wait for the deer to come to me I don't use any sents I don't use any bait I hunt how you're supposed to. I rattle deer antlers together that usually will bring them in
When you plant a field. You're improving the habitat for deer and other animals as well. I do it to give something back. It's a rewarding hobby. Bait piles do not improve the habitat. It's simply killing a deer with as little effort as possible. Apple and corn piles at 20 yards from a ladder stand is not hunting . Tell me it's legal as your excuse to do it. I'll tell you you're not a sportsman.
