My best memory of him was on that Def Comedy show where he had a woman (Big Lez, the choreographer) stand behind him and use her arms and hands like they were his. And had her express how they were supposed to move based on what he was saying. And of course he ended it by saying how as a black man he liked to hold his privates.To which she hesitated at 1st but then did it to the eruption of the crowd!

Bro everybody is not going to get into Hollywood that is a fairy tale they pick a handful of comedians to make it to ALA Eddie Murphy and Kevin Hart Katt Williams level that's it if you're a comedian that can be prime time and can sell out arenas I ain't even going to say arenas theaters improvs whatever have you in that realm and you can do that consistently for 20 plus years you're successful you're going to make at the minimum a few million dollars in that span of 10nto 20 years , YOU ARE A successful comedian if you're making millions of dollars just telling jokes every comic is not going to make a hundred million like Kevin Hart like wake up man those are anomaly people

@@stellargentlemen1121Exactly. And when a major celebrity comic and a pure stand-up comic have a beef and people immediately side with the former and mock the latter, it's cringe. It's like they're proud to be ignorant and don't respect the craft. That's what bugs me about the Katt Williams fangirls in his beef with Ali Siddiq beef. Katt went the Hollywood route and Ali explicitly rejected doing film or sitcom roles, but that doesn't diminish Ali's skill or credibility. Let's also look at 3 comedians: TK Kirkland, Theo Von and Ali Siddiq. -TK's been doing comedy since the late-1980s and only blew up in the 2010s when he did VladTV and now people call him a legend. -Theo Von's been doing comedy and was on TV in the 2000s but only blew up in the 2010s after doing Joe Rogan and now people consider him the funniest podcaster in the world. -Ali Siddiq's been doing comedy since the late-1990s and was on TV in the 2000s, but only blew up in the 2010s after he worked with Comedy Central and now he's considered one of the greatest storytelling comedians.

Whether you work a job and you watch the "kiss ass" coworker get promoted, or the girl who get pregnant by the professional athlete and now wants an enormous amount of child support, or the actor/ actress giving sexual favors to get the next role in the movie....................its all a game and everyone has a role to play. All he had to do was shut the fuck up but his ego got the best of him and cost more than a million in my opinion. But when you understand how the game is played you'll become more successful, but at what cost?

When I was with the Apollo they paid main artists around $755. The others on stage w the main artist were paid less than $400, if I remember correctly.

I appreciate his openness and his ability to see what he did right as well as what he did wrong. I love Teddy Carpenter. He definitely deserves some light and stage and screen. Burning bridges can be costly.

@pierre I know he said he wished he had a OG to school him but would he have listened. When we are young sometimes we think we know it all. I tried to help younger people but it’s takes them experiencing what I was trying to warm them about to really learn.
@willia3r
@willia3r Год назад
Yeah you do that now, but that is because you listened to not only your experience, but the experience of others. In my case as I am now middle-age, I had no one tell me anything and I was willing to learn. To me whether he wouldve listened or not is immaterial. He should have at least been told.
@sassysamuel4554
@sassysamuel4554 Год назад
@@willia3r true you have a point on he should have been told but on the flip side too not everyone has your best interest also. I have had people older that I thought were giving advice from a loving place but it wasn’t.
@willia3r
@willia3r Год назад
@@sassysamuel4554 you have a good point there, that’s why I called of these previous generation folks _”olders”_ and not _”elders”_ because elders is a prestigious title only to be given to those who have and are willing to advise the youth in a positive forward moving direction. And that hasn’t been the case with a lot of these old folks, they dropped the ball badly and the results are now revealed obviously😕

Pierre's Panic Room is one of the best shows i have seen and it's a much needed forum for comics past and present but truth be told i have only gotten a few chuckles when it came to Teddy because majority of his jokes were recycled and flipped from past/present comic's routines.My OPINION may not be a popular one but it's an honest one.Regardless of the nature of the business there is a reason some comics go on to be superstars without having an "OG" to game them up.

I remember Teddy in DC in the 90's . He was the man. He used to drive a Porsche. He was before Rock. He always gave love to his people, and he looks the same while we all aged. 😂
