Teddy Thompson has one of the most beautiful voices in the business, whichever genre he chooses. And it's wonderful to see him make his own place, separate from his talented parents. He is SO gifted, on his own.
Reminds me of many (too many) nights playing to dead crowds and wondering two things: 1. Why do we do this? 2. How much longer? Thank the music Gods for the few who do enjoy. We played for You.
Teddy always has the few hundred viewers of his videos lie this one wondering: why isn't he bigger?! I think he falls into that category of recent singer-songwriters who mostly came out of country, including Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan. Strong voices, great songs with interesting lyrics. But Teddy is even harder to categorize, being English and from a folk background. Funnily enough, he reminds me Glen Campbell, too, someone who also had a great voice and was one of the best guitar players in the business -- he also crossed categories. Teddy doesn't need Jimmy Webb to write his best songs.
