I feel like most Atiny agree that even if Mingi isn't your bias (or bias wrecker) he's still your bias. Everyone just loves Mingi.

Mingi is actually missing from ALL of kingdom and this music video. Interestingly that might have been why you precieved Hongjoong as getting a lot of screen time during Kingdom because they did the competition with him as their only rapper

fun fact: ateez were so busy at fireworks era, because back then their schedules were piled up. they had to do promotion (perform at music show) for their comeback (fireworks) and prepared for kingdom stages, while half of them (San, Yunho, seonghwa and Jongho) also had to shoot for their first Korean drama. Wooyoung even told us at behind the scene of making "Symphony no.9 from the Wonderland" stage that they didn't sleep for 2 days because it was so hectic. I can't even imagine how tired they were but somehow they still manage to do all those activities and give the best performance everr

The reason you won't see Mingi in any of the Ateez things filmed from 2020 to around mid 2021 I think (?) is because he'd been taking a hiatus after getting diagnosed with anxiety, which is why he wasn't in kingdom or this mv- he resumed all group activities with the deja vu comeback, though I am still a new atiny so I could be getting my timeline wrong

The only time Hongjoong puts himself in center is because of their arrangement in which they are standing - from smolest in the middle to the twin towers Yunho and Mingi on the ends haha. Glad you loved it, because fireworks is one of my faves for over a year now and to this day it gets me hype af anytime i put it on 🔥

So funny thing here is that the ATEEZ schedule at this point was reeeeediculous. Basically any content where San has this bright pink hair was filmed at this period in time. This includes this video, a video for their b-side Celebrate, the Kingdom stages, a few episodes of their log, a Studio Choom performance for this (hi, San's abs part 9375), Jongho and 3 other members finishing their filming of the drama 'Imitation' (yep, acting credits for ya boi!), and allllll the comeback activities for this album besides. Booked and busy. Of course we were all thrilled when they started performing this as OT8 again after Mingi's hiatus, because he really does bring his own energy to this, it just happened that they had recorded the audio way in advance enough that when he went on hiatus, the group didn't have tons of songs where he's absent. When you get to their b-sides like you have with SKZ, you'll start to truly see the colors emerge. As everyone's suggested, The Real is the song referenced at the end of this track, and it appeared in the last episodes of Kingdom (not a spoiler, just a note), but then was released half a year later as a title track beside Turbulence. Also, this video is very lore-heavy, so it's very often cited among loreTINY for its references which go all the way back to Say My Name.

Yay thank you for all the reactions lately❤❤ Usually the leaders are the center which although you'll notice hongjoong being the center, the more you get to know them, the more you'll see, but hongjoong LOVES his members. Like he'd rather give the spotlight and let them shine rather than himself. Often you'll see him just being quiet and staring and smiling at his members while they talk. It's super sweet. He does play the leader role very much, and he used to be more strict as he's def one of the most mature (but knows when to be playful and is talkative lol) and is one of the most hardworking people, but as the rest of the members mature and are starting to become leaders themselves, he actually prefers to sit back and let them shine while he works behind the scenes. For example, every song he makes, he makes it for ateez and never for just himself. He also talks often about the members even when he's alone and doesn't like doing individual activities much. He also encourages other members to speak out more and he wants others to get more lines. He was just invited to the Balmain fashion show presentation and the entire time he kept talking about how empty he feels without his members and how he wishes they were there with him and more. He's def one of the most caring leaders I've ever seen, and if you ever watch their variety shows or other content like their predebut show, he gets really emotional towards his members because he loves them so much. I can't wait for you to get to know them more. He does a ton of charity work too. And he also is the one that helps the members with their solo work and is the biggest spender, constantly buying Ateez member things. Ateez members are also super appreciative and often talk about how much they care about him or appreciate him too. Ateez are the most kind and humble beings ever❤

I do think you'd enjoy ATEEZ' *To the Beat* (it has selfie MV), *The Leaders* and *The Ring* , I think you will find something new and different in each of these songs and of ATEEZ as well

And yes this was the comeback they had during kingdom. Mingi was on hiatus for about 8 months I think, and was gone the entire time for kingdom, I think a few immortal songs, their JP and Korean comebacks, and any other content they did at this time. He still recorded in the songs, but wasn't present at any activities. Also side note- you're fangirling over Jongho is killing me and so relatable 🤣 And OMG NKOTB you're so right 😂 I feel like those long notes are such a 90s thing too! Not even just them but so many artists from that time did it too! And single was my first song too! I just listened to it the other day after so long! Still a BOP! I started as a STAY happily minding my own damn business, then came ATEEZ. I came across a Halloween Wonderland and OMG... I was DEAD... like literally. It was the damned demon line that sunk me but it was it was especially Hongjoong that caught my eye (because he's literal perfection). I searched Ateez and again.. OMG, I was whisked away into WANTEEZ, ALLLL the MV's, Vlives, Woosan, the chaos, absolute hilarity, Yuhno talking about pooping, the whole 9 yards. Their production is genius and let's just say... perfection. HJ is a prodigy and Eden is a musical god. ATEEZ is my ult now, though I have such love for Stray Kids - each group has their shining stars for different reasons. Jongho for his soaring vocals, Seungmin the puppy for his voice that sounds like a perfectly tuned violin... Changbin for his rap - Bang Chan and Hongjoong for their production and leadership, ALL of their visuals, San, Yuhno, Lee Know, Hyunjin for dance, Felix, Mingi for the deep voices, Han the all-rounder... I mean, the list could really go on and on, It's easy to love both groups for different reasons, but ATEEZ is my ult. You know which group you love when you have literally every song on your Spotify and you can listen to it everyday and never hear a bad song. I am a bonafide #staytiny but... my heart goes to HJ and ATEEZ. That boy stole my heart

I started with Ateez with Halazia too but of course right now I listened all of their songs and I love them. My fav group is Stray Kids and I never believed to meet another incredible group but Ateez made it.

Oh! And since you're a Jongho bias- they have a special video for the song Celebrate that was also on this album and its some INCREDIBLE vocal work from Jongho. Also their Leave the Door Open cover is great and also from this Era

Since you're a Jongho bias - his favorite ATEEZ song is Be With You! It's a ballad so idk if you'd like it but they definitely flex their vocals on there ^.^

Mingi actually didn’t participated at Kingdom at all.. Around this time (and when they came back with this mv) he was suffering from anxiety and had to take a hiatus

Not sure if anyone else pointed it out, Teddy, but the ending melody in that last cinematic clip is a little preview of ATEEZ's song, "The Real", which they performed on Kingdom and added to their album ZERO: Fever Epilogue. The boys are always doing this in their music vids, and even in the actual songs themselves or in the last track of their albums!! In their MV for "Answer" back in January of 2020, the final clip included a preview/teaser sound bit from "Sector 1", which didn't even some out until July of 2022. That's a whole 2 and a half years LATER!!! They love to leave little clues like that for us ATINY to discover ^u^

Saw them at the O2 arena in February… honest to god the best concert I’ve been too 👌🏻👍🏻 They performed the heat-topping remix version of this… so ducking amazing live 🤯 - would defo recommend this version to listen to as well.. I think you’d be surprised 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also, forgot to mention until I saw someone else comment, but hongjoong is the leader and most of the time the speaker for the group. Leaders have to know how to speak well which hongjoong definitely does, and the members usually would rather have hongjoong speak as many are more quiet. Also, hongjoong knows the most about their stages, songs, and lore, and most of the members don't know much or don't want to spoil or just can't bring it across as clearly as hongjoong does so they usually always get him to talk and hongjoong lately has been trying to get the members to talk more and it's super funny lol! In radio interviews especially or when being asked questions they always want hongjoong to talk for them so he was the one who always did but he still lets the members to when they want

The thing about Hongjoong is that he will often step back and let the other members shine. He's a really great leader in many ways but I've noticed that especially. If he thinks one of the boys wants to say something he makes sure to bring attention to them. I think with kingdom especially as a competition show they love evil editing which is why you got that impression of him the first time when he mentioned stray kids that first time. He was complimenting them but the way mnet edits it can almost seem like he was being off.

The other version of this song (I’m the one - heat topping ver) has a special place in my heart, I honestly cannot choose which I prefer between the two but the other ver has some really cool sound effects that I’m a sucker for. Take me home from the same album as this is also incredible and has an English version which is equally as impressive but I highly recommend those!

Ohhhh thank u for always reacting to ateez and i get why u thought that about hj but when u see him in the center a lot that is because first of all leaders must be well speakers and hj definitely is also most of the members are quiet or shy even sometimes when he tells them to speak they prefer to let him talk instead also because he is the one who knows every detail about their work and when they are in their comfort zone or space he usually sits back and just watches them doing their things and even when he talks about his work he always thanks the members or says they are his inspiration like when he produced his first song "from" he made sure that all the members have credits for it because they inspired him and he always helps them with their solo projects he is the most caring loving human being i have ever seen not just with ateez but with atinys too when u get to know them well u will see how amazing soul he is he does a lot of charity and his kind and beautiful soul is an inspiration to a lot of us u can know that just from the way his members talk about him or treat him and omg he loves them sm u will never imagine how much he loves his members

I always expect a lot because these reactions to Ateez are the favorite things that brighten my day, Fireworks is the song with which I learned of the existence of Ateez and is one of my favorites.

Mingi was on hiatus for a little over a year and anything that Ateez did during that time Mingi was not there. So he was not on any of the Kingdom episodes/performances. He did record a few songs but that is it. Also, you have 1 bias and/or 1 bias wrecker in a group and out of those you can have an ultimate bias, which in your case would be Changbin.

Bangchan and Hongjoong leadership styles are different but both of them can be categorized in "nurturing leader" bc they not only lead but also are very finely attuned to the needs of the members, when someone more quiet get's talked over or someone is too loud, they are SO got at moderating. I have nothing but respect for those guys.

Mingi was on a hiatus during this comeback and kingdom. Fireworks was being promoted at around the same time as the first episode of Kingdom (I think).

We do call it an Ateez curse :) Hongjoong is very good at leaving the space to shine to other members but there's no question then when he's the vanguard we're in for a treat. Both Wonderland and The Real are the proof, especially live, although in different flavours.
