I literally almost cried listening to just how fucking powerful this band truly is. Warren ? Stop by any time my brother ! You and Derek and Susan are the best.
Seen the Allman Bros Band 100+ times. Nothing like the Beacon Theatre. I used to worry that the wood spiral would come crashing down from the ceiling. LOL. That version of Dreams was as good as any I ever saw in any Allman show. EVER
I am still missin them...Greg, Duane, and Butch...and because I only got to see Duane once, I'll say especially Greg. The music always brings them back to us. Uh and I guess I have to mention Jerry too, cuz he was part of all this. My first AB show was in Feb 70, 2 nights after my 2nd GD show. The 2 bled together. Well, there was the other Brotherhood that may have had something to do with it. ;-) The Allman Bros from the South, and the Dead from SF. I remember shortly after Jerry passed seeing the Allmans do a Blue Sky with a kind of baby's face in the cosmos projected on the backdrop of the stage, while they morphed into Franklin's Tower and back into Blue Sky. May the Cosmic Winds blow you safely home, Boys.
Lockn Festival 2018 had what I like to call “what’s left of the GD & ABB was there man!” Plus Funk-George Clinton!! Man it was a special Lockn Festival! Everybody was there except Warren Haynes.
Here we go!!!!! Thank you!💖💕❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Those two guys compliment each other so well, both of them have tone for days!! Two of my favorites! Thanks for sharing this awesome rendition of Dreams! 😊❤️
i know warren and derek need to do their own thing...and I get it...but man...it sure would be nice if every march...they got together at the beacon for some kind of 10 show run...with all kinds of great tunes...and a bunch of ABB stuff sprinkled in...those two NEED to be on stage together...its just awesome in every way...they both REEK of ALLMANS...the feel...just all of it...why not every MARCH....then go on their merry way....
I second that. Without the brothers I don't think either one of them would be the players they are today. It's going to be strange life without going to church a couple times a year and seeing the brothers and warren and Derek. I love the mule and TTB but the brothers with those two it just didn't get no better. There's going to be a huge hole. Rip Gregg Allman, butch trucks, Alan Woody, Duane Allman, Berry Oakley and supporting members of the band.. thank you for all the years.
Gosh, Tremendous amount of emotional content. This combination of artists just brings out the best in them all. They've poured out their souls into this song.
I like seeing people from other backgrounds who have discovered "our" non-commercial music. By "our" I mean the community of roots to jamming music in America. Despite the audience quality recording of this mix, you perceived the emotional relationship between these 3. One NYE night in Oakland Ca. when Derek and (very pregnant) Susan's marriage was spilled to us by Phil Lesh, I laughed because Warren was over in the corner jokingly making the voodoo spell gestures with his hands like Phil was cursing it by telling. They are all related...Warren took Duane's place, Derrick - nephew of Butch took Dicky's place, and Susan, well she's just so soulful and bold but feminine, how could she NOT be brought into the fold. Look for an Allman Brothers version of this. Greg's gone now, but his music will live on.
How could anyone click thumbs down if they clicked into this video in the first place?!?!?! Anyway -- I love watching musicians smile and love what each other is doing on stage... this video brought me to tears. Haven't seen ABB in a while and this is seriously great
That's what I've often wondered. How could you get to something offered freely and bother to dislike? Well YT just made a change to not display the dislike count which seems like a good thing to me. Haters can still hate, but they lose some of the audience for it which discourages the hate.
Love the Duane shout out starting at 11:08...that's how they have all ended the solo section since the song was first written. There's a great story about how Duane came up with that set of triplets for you Sky Dog fans out there, which I read about in "One Way Out" years ago. I think Butch Trucks told the story.
@@grantsmythe8625 Yes he did. Some people are blessed with the ability to tell stories Butch was one of them. I miss him, I miss them all. At least Duane found a perfect vessel to inhabit in Derek. He has gone where Duane would have gone had he lived. At least we had a few quality years with Greg at the end, what a voice. Thanks to Warren who had to swallow a lot of shit to hang in and be the right rock for ABB. I always thought his contributions were underappreciated for a long time. But his talents have showed out the last few years. Working with the Grateful Dead and that project. It's getting close to my time to escape this broken down old body. I hope Duane's available to give lessons
@@davidcochran6291 I'm 68, with health issues and understand that we're living on "borrowed time"!. But we really had some good music in our time, didn't we.
The greatest part of this, the most spiritual part, the part that really connected the audience to the artist, was when upon entering the venue, a person asked: “papers please. Sir, I’m sorry, your papers seem to not be in order.” I have no respect for anyone who would perform at a venue enforcing this type of tyranny.
Note the last name (yes, that is my real name), note I am from Macon Ga, note I have been known to run a sound board or two and POX I say to those who dislike this! POX!
