The Best Damn Bass Player from the Best Damn Band in America (and the World as a matter of fact), "The Meters"!! Poppa Funk and George Porter Jr. the funkiest in the world!! George just makes The Tedeschi Trucks Band sound that much better!! Even though they sound great, to begin with. God Bless New Orleans music and all of our culture and music!!!
Wow... freakin groove overload, I had to walk away get a shot of Presidente, have a smoke, grab a beer, and then come back. If I'd seen this in person no tellin what would of happened! Wow just fn wow. Loved it!!!
The more I watch this song, the more I love it : Great song, great band, great horn section and my master? Mr. George Porter Jr. on bass. What more do we need?
piercestang, i was NOT sitting down for this. that's me, in front, hittin my head off the ceiling. the entire show was one of the best ones i've seen. missed oteil, but jr. rocked too. kebbie and co. smoked also. they were all so tight, everyone deserved an mvp. or s as the case may be.
TTB and GPJ damn fine music. George is still killing it on bass at the Maple Leaf Bar in NOLA most Monday nights in 2023. They have a great live stream.
Man, I always liked Susan Tedeschi, but now I love her. That cop of 1970's Leo is priceless. And I saw the Meters about twenty times back then- just saw the Metermen at Jazz Festival.
You've got the nephew of Allman Brothers drummer Butch Trucks, and his wife, who was already an outstanding blues guitarist before this band formed. And let's not forget Meters bass player George Porter- the best bass player ever.
George Porter Jr is such a bad man on that bass! I've spent so many hours of my life trying to sound like him, hopefully I've absorbed a little of his groove
Not everyone shares the same paradigm as you, brother. Plenty of people can absolutely LOVE and completely groove to music without ever standing up. And let me tell you, as a taper and someone who has pulled excellent captures of more than one TTB concert, I definitely appreciate those who DON'T stand as much as I do those who don't talk or wooooooo in the middle of a performance. Just sayin'.
this should be looped on a giant flatscreen the size of a monolith and sent into outerspace so that when other lifeforms view it they will say "them earthlings are some badasszz mutafuckas"! hahaha Love ya Derek and Susan and ALL ... keep it comin ... u guys are fn monsters
Hope we see lots more of Mr George Porter Jr with this band...but either way...love this band...Susan Tedeschi & Derek Trucks are a wonderful combination both on and off the stage!!!!
the sign a the audience standing shows that they enjoy it its letting the musicains know they feel the same thing they do at least thats what i feel lol
Just awesome!! ... and how cool is it to see TTB play a Meters song with George Porter Jr.? This is one of those things I wish I could have seen in person, but still very happy to have found it here.
Revisitg this today. Used to go see George Porter with the funky meters back in the early 2000s at a bar called Zydeco in Birmingham. Hed roll through every 6 months. Wed eat MDMA and drink beer and dance. God it was fun being young.
Susan!! channeling a Little Leo Nocentelli & Ernie Isley there fo a Hot minute in the beginning, Go On witcha Bad self!!I cannot say enough How Much I Dig This Band!
Hi from Greece: this tune got VOODOO...this tune got SOUL.... UNIQUE ....Does someone knows if there s on vinyl or cd or something??? Love the blues...love TTB...respect.....thank u
Tune picks me up with such energy, Whoa those horns are smoking. How bout that harmony. Derek tearing apart as always. Man, this this has all the elements...keyboard solo sweet..and presence of The Meters just goes hand in hand with this fantastic band. Don't stop bringing this sweet music to the world!
In atlanta at the fox theater I saw them cover in memory of Elizabeth Reed with Jimmy fucking herring from widespread that was about as good as it's ever gotten for me lolll
Oh wow!! Love it, 😍 well funky, I have The Meters original album from 1971. But you did a fabulous version of Ain’t no use!! Well done, all great musicians and vocals!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Je comprend pas les accords que Derek fait ???? a la vue il fais des accords majeurs alors que pour moi ce morceau est entièrement avec 3 accords mineur ,a moins qu il n a pas un accordage standard ?? Dm7/Am7/Gm7
