What an inspire speech! I grow up in a very poor family back in Brazil. People who new me used to disbelieve in me, because of my family's financial problems. I remember when I told to a person who new me and my family that I would graduate at university, but I could see in his eyes that he didn't believe a word about what I was saying, because studying at that time was very expensive, but in few years after that conversation I got my degree. I remember when I told to a friend of mine that my dream on that time would be living in USA, and also, I could see in her eyes she didn't believe in me too. I also told to another friend of mine about this same dream and her husband heard my conversation with my her and started laughing in from of me, but after struggling to save money, I went to USA and achieved my dream. When I was in USA I told to another friend of mine I would live in New Zealand, he also didn't believe in me, but now I'm not living in New Zealand, but Australia, that's because in the middle of the way I just decide that I would like to go to Australia instead of New Zealand. I think everybody can achieve their dreams, they just have to believe and don't listening to others who don't believe in them. There are so many people out there who will laugh from your dreams, some of them don't do this on purpose, but they do this because they can't understand that everybody has potential to change their life if they want to. Keep visualizing your dream and do whatever it take to get there. I still have other dreams to achieve, I'm working on it and I know I gonna achieve them as well. Keep it up guys and whatever happen don't give up your dreams. Cheers!

Seeing her last night... reminded me of the path that i'm on and the good that I will do for our people. She continues to be the inspiration that drives to me to so much and I look forward to meeting her again.

I first heard her sing at UH Manoa when I moved to Oahu in 2006 and was blown away by her. She is so real and soulful. and then I saw her again at Doris Duke around 2013 and I think she is so amazing and authentic and needs to cut more of her albums and have a Paula Fuga world tour
Loved loved loved it, love Paula, definitely love India Arie, and having been recently introduced by friend Jack Johnson's song In The Morning, has not only led me to his music, but when I first saw Paula and John Cruz. I know, late train. I love love all of them and how I was further led to Mike love, all beautifully talented gems of individuals and I'm sure there's more. As a Hawaiian wahine I have seen first hand how bad out homelessness is we have the worst homelessness in the whole state. 90% of Hawaiians are homeless.
