- About Nathan Barnatt -
Nathan Barnatt is a character actor and physical comedian bordering on stuntman. Two of his influences are Buster Keaton and Andy Kaufman. He is a performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade theater in Los Angeles. Nathan has made a name for himself with his original brand of comedy, and he's quite the dancer.
In his TEDxPhoenix 11.11.11 TEDxTalk, Nathan shares the inspiration behind his Que Veux-tu RU-vid video ( • Yelle - Que Veux-tu (M... ), and gives the audience a sneak peak of his newest video, Comme Un Enfant ( • Yelle - Comme Un Enfan... ).

- About TEDxPhoenix 11.11.11 -
The theme for TEDxPhoenix 11.11.11 was "_______ for a Change" and featured speakers from around the US who are exploring unique ideas that have brought about unexpected, interesting, and positive changes. Five hundred people from all over Arizona and the western US gathered at the Mesa Arts Center for an evening of thought provoking and entertaining talks.
The opening title (vimeo.com/31961584) and speaker video intros were created under the design and direction of TEDxPhoenix Art Director, Safwat Saleem (@safwat). Motion graphics and animation provided by TEDxPhoenix volunteer Qa'ed Tung (@qaedtung).
Video editing of this TEDxPhoenix TEDxTalk was done by UAT Digital Video student, Neil Sparks, under the guidance of UATDV Program Champion, Professor Paul DeNigris (@UATDV).
Filming of TEDxPhoenix 2011 was conducted by UAT Digital Video students Dylan White, Kennedy Gray, Ty Bitterolf, Nic Vereen, Neil Sparks, and Annie Winn. Additional guidance and assistance was provided by UATDV Associate Professor, Todd Schoenberger, and UATDV Teaching Assistant, Jared Oppie.
- About TEDx -
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I'm not sure if Nathan has any aspirations to be on 'the big screen' but I really don't think he 'needs' to be. The stuff he does, and the stuff he loves to do seems so much more suited to what he's doing now. I have no doubt he'd remain the same even on the big-screen, but he doesn't need it for him to do what he loves. It's not to say I wouldn't want to him become more successful, but I don't feel he needs to be jettisoned into the status that the big-screen offers.

If you're in the middle of nowhere with no traffic on the street? Sure, it's still illegal, but whatever. In this video there's at least one example of him dancing in the middle of the street with at truck slowly driving past him. That's obstructing traffic. I fail to see it as a "good" thing, in any context.

No...You can dislike the illegal actions,(all that dancing in the middle of the road? Actually a crime, two, at least, technically) of another person, and the douchebaggery (random flailing around in random private businesses) without being "jealous".

What's edgy about it? The guy disrupted public thoroughfares and generally made a nuisance of himself all over the place. Private citizens who stop and shoot video of themselves dancing in the middle of the road should get traffic tickets, not rewarded with positive attention. How many examples of this guy blocking traffic are there, four or so? I'm not going to go back through and watch again, but I remember it being more than once.
