I have been schooling him for years now and when we get in the car he hits Pandora Dr Dre station or 90’s Hip Hop Radio. Hell I caught him listening to Three 6 Mafia a few weeks ago. I don’t think I’ve ever played any of their music for him. Go back and listen to all the original rappers...it will be worth it, I promise!

I’ve Cube was 18 or 19 years old. This was 1988. I remember this so well song so well. This was the first really big West Coast rap group that came out. Before that everyone was in New York. Forget about the South or the Midwest or Canada?!? That’s where Drake’s from. All hip hop came straight outta Brooklyn and The Bronx. Like Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick. Special Ed, “I Got It Made” was my favorite. And MC Lyte. Then along came NWA and it changed everything.

The second verse was by mc ren. He's considered by some to be the best rapper in NWA.

Now you need to watch the movie. :-). They weren't much older than you when they started NWA. And they really are the reason there are warnings on CDs and videos. Today they sound really tame!! 😅

MC Ren super underrated.

Eazy has always been my favorite rapper. And his thing wasn’t even about rapping. He was a hustler who wanted to diversify his money and own his own record label. Dre was an old friend of a friend of his and he put him on. Watch the movie because it shows Eazy getting schooled by Dre on rapping. It’s good. EaZy E would be 58 years old now. I’ve Cube is 50 or 51 years old. Time goes by sooooo fast.
