Hey Vinnie, if you see this, it's never too late to change. Don't feel too bad about the stuff you've said here. Even adults say silly stuff to rationalise harming animals. Some even get aggressive and completely unhinged. It is difficult to confront conditioned thoughts and behaviour, especially when you are constantly influenced by social pressure. So we understand why people say these things even if we can't agree. But you have your whole life ahead of you and you have the choice between denying that to many others or simply not supporting animal harm. You might be surprised just how easy it is to live and thrive without consuming animals. Just think about it, give it a try.
@@G4NGSTASEAL69 Hey, Vinnie. There's a YT video which I think you'd find really interesting called "Gary Yourofsky - The Most Important Speech You Will Ever Hear". It's about an hour long, but it's absolutely amazing. (I stopped eating meat when I was ten. If you ever want any input about anything vegan-related, feel free to drop me a note on this thread. Cheers.)
Mel, you were phenomenal!! He wasn't a bad kid, he was trying to be honest, but there was so much cognitive dissonance there. You handled it brilliantly 👏 👏👏 Well done 💚
That kid must be watching a lot of andrew tate 🙂. His friend was a lot more easier to talk to. I hope that kid grows up and one day, very soon realizes what he's putting animals through and goes vegan. 🤞
I hope that one day we can look back on these videos like we look back on Rosa Parks. You're standing up to injustices, challenging the status quo, and actually doing something about it. I'm so thankful to you guys. You did an amazing job here.
@@harveyplantharvester1502 I wouldn't compare the two to make declarations of 'better', despite my analogy. What Mel and Steve are doing stands on its own.
Amazing chat - you were very quick on your feet with some great follow up questions! And it's always impactful to bring it down to a friendly tone at the end :)
It's troubling when people know what is going on and still put their taste pleasure first. A lot of people know but they purposely avoid exposure because they want to avoid the guilt. It's so profoundly sad that the animals are non-consensual and cannot stop what is happening. When a person states: "They're food. They're bred for that purpose.", I think There's a non-thinking sociopath with less than zero empathy. And then on the flip side are the people who proclaim to be against animal abuse in one moment, and are stuffing down animal flesh or liquids in the next.
@@G4NGSTASEAL69 Do you think not having empathy for non-human sentient creatures is a quality to be admired? Each animal spends a lifetime in miserable conditions so that people who want to stuff their face holes with mutilated animal flesh can have a few seconds of tongue pleasure. That's sick. Going vegan these days is easy. Even people who feel no empathy can logically decide to just do the right thing. Murdering animals for taste pleasure is abhorrent.
I can't understand why some parents would teach kids to not care about animals. If you don't teach kids kindness they are the ones in the future that we have to be worried about. Jeffrey Dahmer started abusing animals and look what happened with him.
I like that you didn’t let it go. You insisted that he understand the scope of his actions. I hope that he knows better now. Thanks for speaking up for the animals ✊
He's a Likeable lad. He'll go vegan and not have 25,000 brutal stabbings on his hands between now and his 90th birthday. You gave him a great gift, Mel.
lol I love the way you put pressure on that little dude, that was the perfect approach for a young man acting tough. The part of him that knows that he got schooled will have to reconcile that against all the toxic bullshit he's no doubt been taught.
Mel is so loveable! & amazing! She was able to get this boy to open up & discuss how he really feels & thinks. It turned out to be a good discussion. She needs to go the the high schools & discuss veganism in the classes.
I have found it frustrating not being able to find stats from polling organizations on veganism. But the food industry has data. It's pretty easy for them to collect because it's based on sales and projections based on past growth. We might see a long line of cars at KFC or Chik-fil-a, but then we saw recently that Tyson closed numerous factory farms in 2023. They stated low demand as a reason. And the stats on going vegan (statista) are going up, most strongly among women under 35 (about 10% of them in the US being vegan now).
You and your partner are amazing!! I think something that *could* be helpful is a shortcut to the official government/SPCA/Red Tractor documentation talking about gassing and other standard practice in case people think this is an exception. Just an idea from a vegan who doesn't do activism, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Again, you're amazing!
Hmm, so the house you live in, the Internet you use, the product you used to make this comment. You think it all came from a non animal violent method? You don't think acres of land where thousands of animals once lived and destroyed for your home to be built upon didn't hurt animals? You think Internet infrastructure came from nothing?
@@apolloniusbeitsman5444That is something that evil would say. Are you one of those paid workers from the Meat and Dairy industries that comes on every Vegan site to disrespect the animals?
Mel you have amazing kindness and patience to remain focused on the issue to help this young person see things from the victims point of view. I think the experience will stay with him and as his brain develops hopefully his compassion for other animals will also develop.
Mel you KILLED it! You were on fire!! 🔥 im sitting here making my dinner with a big smile on my face like "Ooooo GOT 'EM!!" Mel doing that Joey Carbstrong method!! 😅😅
@Elfizi-Padang easy for awful people like you to ask to be left alone. "Its MY choice" you say.....while you pay for someone else to get knifed in the throat and have their life taken away from them for a fucking sandwhich. Are you that dense? You think youre allowed to take someone else's choice away for a BURGER that you'll forget that you at 2 hours later? Grow up. Youre gonna continue to get called out on your "choice" as long as your "choice" has a victim.
That mic works very well to capture sound from both of you, without having to point it back and forth. And it excludes surrounding sound. Do you mind sharing the brand and model?
Triggered response from this classic troll! You handled him well and made him accountable 👍🏼👍🏼 what a contrast from the other teens in your other videos 🌱🙏🏼💚💪🏽👊🏼
Be kind. This is a kid. We are so quick to judge. Were we not all once in his shoes? The seed is planted, dont top it off with toxicity. I wish you well Vinnie, focus on the message, not the audience
I knew by the hoodie he was gonna have a bit of a I don’t care stance but he did and didn’t know how to not care and care all at the same time! Hopefully this convo sits with him you never know
@@G4NGSTASEAL69 Did you watch dominion ? And did you show your parents this video ? You seem like a good kid don’t get wrapped up idiots do you F the rest 👌
Reminder that this is a kid here. Things like bullying or problems at home can make kids insecure, reactive and feel the need to prove themselves. I hope that this is not the case but either way be gentle. He is still growing.
He eats animals for taste pleasure. Great job getting him to say "R4pe is unnecessary. You don't have to r4pe. That's just weird.". I love when you said "Eating animals is unnecessary. I think eating animals is weird" BINGO ♥🎯🎯🎯
She didn't get me to say that I do think r4pe is very weird and anyone else in the right mindset would think the same eating animals isn't weird it just eating
Hell yeah, go vegan! One small bit of criticism, when you're are talking to minors about difficult subjects you should let them know they are allowed to leave the conversation at any point. Since they are young they are conditioned to believe they have listen to adults when adults are talking to them. They might be there talking because they believe they have to. Letting them know they don't have to is an easy way to help them feel comfortable talking about difficult subjects and they will likely think more clearly because of the reduced social pressure as well. Keep going guys💚
There were a couple of grown men (or oversized boys) in recent videos (like that big BK fellow showing off eating his whopper). They took pride and showed off their arrogance in not caring. Now we have a young bloke who exudes the same pride. Was he born that way, or did somebody get to his thought process early in life? I think this is a first on this channel for a young person expressing himself this way.
I think Mel was perfect for this conversation! She completely controlled the conversation and held them fully accountable! Awesome outreach Mel! 🙏🏼🌱💚💚💚👊🏼
@@Untillallarefree definitely. She did great! I just find that teen lads tend to listen to men better. I feel like steve would have had less resistance from them.
His words say he’s okay with it & it’s normal, but those facial expressions don’t lie, he didn’t like any of it. This is a seed planted in his mind, it’ll either blossom or he’ll try to bury it down further
Literally said he was being a bully to his friend, then spends the majority of the video badgering him. Have to give the kid respect, even under that pressure he never changed his stance.
You can see he is deeply conditioned and brainwashed into what he thinks he must say compared to what he actually feels is right - he will be vegan one day I’m positive
@@Untillallarefree You very well be right, though it will ultimately be his choice to make. Though with that free will, comes the possibility he remains as he is. All I would care is that he lives a life he is happy with.
@@Untillallarefree well I'd like to hope that care for livestock will continue to improve. I think animals should be healthy and happy while in our care, though I believe animals can still be raised for food. I'm like this for many reasons, mostly for my own selfish happiness because that's what matters to me.
@@TheShockedboy your selfishness causes the most horrific exploitation and murder of innocent animals, when you can get the same sensory pleasure without the violence. Everyone wants animals to be cared for looked after and treated nicely……. Until you want them to be murdered so you can eat their bodies and what comes out of them. Shame on you…
Being strong willed as a kid has nothing to do with whether someone will grow up to live a good, kind life. He could go either way. Only time will tell.
@@G4NGSTASEAL69 not just meat. animals and says he supports animal abuse as well as doing the action that support animal abuse. but you really are triggered to troll vegan pages non stop
Is this lady on smack? Why is she trying to put these kids through this and expecting anything other than the responses she is getting? This lady needs to take some fish oil and cut down on her drinking or something. 😂
Animals can be raised, farmed and even slaughtered in a kind way. I stopped eating meat as my school mate was vegerterian , it was a disaster for me as 15 years later I kept loosing weight in a dangerous fashion , turns out I should be on a diet of meat and dairy . The industry is the problem , not the farming or eating meat, we need good fats .
Sounds like you need to learn more about nutrition to be honest, I've been veggie 4 years and vegan 3 and I'm doing aight. I know someone whose been vegan for 48 years and she's healthy, where are these "good fats" I'm missing?
Dairy, fish and meat fats are good essential fats . I have methylation genetic disorder so vegetrerian diet was not a good choice , despite it seeming incredibly healthy , over 25 years I saw many who made similar mistakes to me. Eating Soya , and grains , methylation issues (arund 40% caucasians affected, folic acid added to flours etc, a poison , folqate essential ) and the protective methods and poisons that vegtables contain . I have had a very clean diet , organic veg and home raised organic meat 15 years , then organic vegeterian for 25 and nearly died from starbvation. When in Australia sround this time . I had bloods done , nearly every vitamin and mineral were depleted. I was fine until around 40 . We have different blood types , genetic snips and many other factors that prove no one diet is good for all. @@keeganthevegan4758
If you kept losing weight then that means you were under-eating. The cure for that is to eat more calories. Yes, we definitely need to eat good fats - and you can get those from a properly-planned plant-based diet. As for the idea that people need to eat meat, try telling that to the powerlifter Noah Hannibal (raised vegetarian and now 32 years vegan) who can bench-press 200kg in steroid-free competition conditions. Or the bodybuilder Jehina Malik, who has been vegan since birth. Or the powerlifter Carey Kidd who has been vegan since birth and is built like a mountain. Or the vegan bodybuilder Nimai Delgado, who has never eaten meat in his life.
He wouldnt care if he was killed right now. . Well what about his parents how broken they would be ? Hes a selfish kid. ... i just lost my brother my parents have just lost their son ..this kid has no idea about life
I frankly, cannot stand these types of leading questions i.e. "Are you for or against animal abuse" to ellicit a specific answer. It's the same as asking "When did you stop beating your wife?".
how dose the digestive system works in humans ? understand this and you will know the correct way of eating for humans, vegans or carnivores all go to extremes for your points, and debate the uninformed for conformation bias!!! hence your talking to a kid about eating right when you don't understand food or difference in the bio available forms of protein or the importance of bacteria or an immune system when rearing food!!! ps if anyone has to go with extremes to make there point then did you even have one?
Its not extreme to want to live without harming others but is extreme to have the boys of baby’s in your fridge because you like the taste. The facts is you can thrive without murdering baby animals so why would anyone choose to. Once you know better do better dude
Animals are food and always will be deal with it. Never vegan always omnivore deal with it. All vegan documentaries are a joke. Only makes me hungry. You talk to kids like that here you will be arrested or worse.
@paultishler6013 omg here we go, a triggered cultists. Did say they were, but they do that crap where I live they will be arrested or worse. Animals are food, and so are you deal with it. It will always be. Stop crying and being annoying cancer to society.
You're emotionally immature deal with it, you're missing out on great health benefits deal with it, you're living your life based on what the majority do rather than pure logic deal with it, better to raise awareness than feed kids meat and cause fatty streaks on their arteries from alarmingly young ages.
