I met George in 1986. The first time I talked to him we sat and talked backstage at a show he was doing at Northwestern University for 2 hours. I was struck by how intelligent he was, and also how serious he was. Off stage, he was not a clown, he was a real Thinker. He really hated "stupid" cultural things, and he knew that even though it was the fodder for his comedy, it represented real world issues. He felt tht it was his job to point out our stupidity in a way we would accept. He was brilliant, and he was kind, though many didn't think he was "nice". He wasn't. Being nice, in his mind, was the opposite of being kind. I miss him.

Saw him 2x live ini the 80's. He was amazing. RIP - he'd be having a field day with the way culture is currently!

I've seen him a couple of times over the decades, and he was always the best of time. it was educational comedy. some may now be dated but never wrong. the ten words you can't say was hilarious then but probably nothing much now. i hope you listen to more, he's fun and tickls the cerebrum

As one who cut his teeth as a 14 year-old back in the early 70's on George Carlin's LP (vinyl) comedy albums, I can't recommend it vigorously enough that you (as someone so young as to not have heard of him) that a deep dive is definitely in order! Do check out at least one of his comedy albums. Especially, one out of the 70's or 80's. A taste of what I speak could be 'I Love My Dog', 'Seven Words (you can't say on television)', 'The Hair Piece', 'Welcome to My Job' and 'White Harlem'. It makes me laugh just to think of a few titles here for you! 😏🤣

The best comedian to have taken the stage in my lifetime. Always told it like it was regardless of who it upset.

I loved watching you react to this. Carlin was the best! May he rest in peace. He hit people right where they needed to think, that is for sure. He hit the right spot so often, that people wanted to shut him up. Thank God these video's still exist. This reaction got me to subscribe to your channel. Peace, Silas.

George was so great. I saw him around 10 times or so live. One time I was laughing so hard that I almost went into convulsions & had sore ribs after the show! Richard Pryor had the same effect on me when I saw him live. " They " would probably try to cancel George in these times & I do think that he would not even GAF! His observations on humanity & especially Americans were so spot on!

George used to perform in a lot of colleges but with today's generation he wouldn't make it through the front door with all the snowflakes now.

I've been listening to George's stuff since 2005. An amazing modern philosopher and comedian that made you think about the world he live in and the life we inhabit.

The funny thing is I have a cowboy hat that I wear every day. It belonged to my uncle. No hate to George for that joke. I still laugh my ass off. Then again I worked on a dairy farm for 3 years during high school so I have been a lot closer to cows than the demographic George is talking about.

This video made me so happy! George is one of my heros and having new generations experience it for the first time brings back memories. Dude is a legend....best comic ever, period. P S. Check out Metallica Creeping Death in Moscow - 1991. If you're not into them, this is the perfect intro to this band. What I'm saying is Metallica is the George Carlin of music 🤘
