When Will first arrived to Nationwide Children's Hospital in 2011, his only way of communicating was with a head nod. Will and his family were in a horrific accident that left Will in critical condition in Nebraska, with a traumatic brain injury (TBI). After spending five weeks in the Intensive Care Unit in Nebraska, he was transferred to Nationwide Children's, where he would stay for the next five months. Every day was filled with activity for Will on the rehabilitation floor. He worked with speech, physical, and occupational therapists. Soon, Will said his first word -- "mom" -- laughed out loud, walked with assistance, and regained the confidence he had lost since his accident.
Today, Will relies on a wheelchair most of the time, but he continues to grow stronger every day.

Our daughter has triumphed after her traumatic injury despite the fact that the hospital lied to us repeatedly and refused to care for her. She is my hero! We love her and are so proud of her.

Sorry this happened to you guys too i been thru the same. I guess when you were treated for anxiety as a child nobody has to treat you after an accident. I fired all my doctors and have been able to heal on my own

A dui driver tbone me Coming home from work. He gave me a traumatic brain injury. My speech is slurry and broken, i see double vision without special glasses.. He change my life upside down!

Shout out to my mom and her wonderful team at Knox Community Hospital, Rehab and Wellness center in Mount Vernon Ohio for getting to work with such a special young man. Will is such a strong fighter and has touched so many lives. Prayers are lifted up everyday.

I can relate. My family didn't say but I know they don't care . After all I got my tbi from my evil mother and her friend and elder bro. She still trying to harm me.

Thank u so much for this and the braveness! After some Traumatas i was healing my Body , but the hard work was on the mind. I had Amnesia and had to learn even languages Again that i already knew. Making RU-vid Videos helps me to relearn languages i used to know and to help not only my patients but hopefully soon more people who re overweight as a physical therapist and a weight loss coach. Hope this will inspire someone to start whatever they love doing! Cheers from Germany

I was hit by a car at the age of four and survived it now I have a dent in my upper right side frontal lobe for ever , I had to do brain tests in school , I found it hard to stay focused in school sitting to long I do better in relaxed states and outdoors but I get tired at times I have to push myself to keep up with house hold chores

Whilst I feel very sad for the young man who was badly injured, I blame the parents for allowing him to travel in the caravan. These vans break up like match sticks when impacted in any way.

I do not believe that people should be kept in rehab centers. They should be at home. Their families can be taught home to care for them. They can do exercises at home to rebuild strength. Rehab is essentially medical jail. You are stuck their until those in power deem it is ok for you to leave.

@@corbosky78 I'm happy to hear that. A close person to me had an accident and he is in medically induced coma because of severe brain injury. I don't know what type you've had but he was near death. I've read that he will never be the same again when he wakes up and that makes me sad. But I'm happy that you are doing well! 😊
