This video is a capture of a Play-Along drill created with the Musician Training Center software (Windows version). Everything in it can be done with the free version of MTC, except for the speed curve. (The free version has a regular metronome).
Using the speed curve in your training can be extremely effective to develop speed and precision and to master difficult passages. For example, you can select a difficult phrase, play it in a loop, and adjust the speed curve so that it starts at a comfortable, easy speed, and gradually increase until a bit beyond your current ability.
From time to time, as you go on practicing and your skills improve, you can adjust the speed curve so that it always cover the most important range: from a speed a bit below your current skill to a speed slightly above your current skill. By practicing always near the outer range of your ability, and by using the speed curve to gently push that edge higher, that's how you achieve the maximum possible benefit from the time you spend practicing. I just cannot recommend this method enough.
For bass players, there is a premium course in the Musician Training Center software called "Virtuoso Fretboard Trainer", and if you buy this course you not only get the Speed Curve functionality available in the whole program, but you also get a complete training system for training your left and right hands in an excellent way. I highly recommend this course to all bass players.

I had to slow it down to .5 speed or 30bpm to start. I'm currently fairly comfortable around 60bpm. 120 seems like light-years away

Thanks for upload. I need to learn and practise it for a gig 2 days later... One error: at the 12. bar the first note is an 'A', not D, I think. The metronome needed IMO too..

I noticed at 0:38 your D13 frame (and the ones following in this same place) is 1/2 step sharp from the original score. *It should be C, C# and D* , NOT _C#, D and D#_

Thanks for the correction. I can't fix it at the moment, but I'll do it when I can. In the meantime, others are advised accordingly.

@@a4play-alongbackingtracks852 Cool man. I kept playing it the way it's on your video and I knew something sounded wrong, so I dug a little and spotted it. If it makes any difference, Jaco also plays it differently than your finger-chart is - check out some of his vids of this song. He uses a lot of open strings. PS - thanks for doing this. I know it takes time and there are millions of people that appreciate it.

I really like this, but it would be really nice with a metronome on the track!

If you download the track from the link in the description, and play with the MTC software, you can turn the metronome volume on as you like. I left it off in this video because I felt the beat was clear enough, but I welcome the feedback and in the future I may add more metronome to this...

There are a few wrong notes in the 8th measure of the melody. That chromatic run should start on C not C#.
