Lady T is one of my all time top 10 favorite singers, I remember seeing her in concert in 1980. A few of my favorites are Aladdin's Lamp, I Need Your Lovin, Behind the Groove, Turnin' Me On, Miracles Need Wings to Fly, Why Did I Have to Fall in Love, just to name of few. Be blessed.

This was a standard on the R&B scene. The song that introduced her to the soul/r&b scene. Thus was born the Lady T icon/ legend. She's royalty in the black community. Her Songs that are well known to us would be considered rare gems to you because they didn't cross over.

Teena Marie was not before her time - she just wasn't appreciated. Her combined talents of writing, producing and expression was beyond many of her peers. She was shunned because she sung R&B music, and many of her friends, band members and lover were also African American. As for the sound and style of music, this was the typical skill level and feel that 90% of the R&B Artist had in the 70's and 80's. Rick James, her mentor, lover and friend was her influence, as they and the Stone-City-Band made great tunes. Much love love little sis!❤ ... Tina Marie just kept getting better. It didn't seem possible, but she sure did accomplish these musical creations with the least amount of 'drama' that so many other musicians seemed to have recording hit songs. I've heard how others have struggled to keep making albums that surpassed their previous ones. Tina Marie seemed make her music effortlessly. She continued to amaze me with better and better music for many years.
