Hi I have a question, if you don’t mind. I really like the Teenage Engineering STEM Player but sourcing one is proving to be difficult. Would I be able to get the same functionality out of the Teenage Engineering TX-6? As in, could I isolate vocals and play around with songs the same way I could on a STEM Player? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
also, to be clear, you can't upload your own tracks on the TE stem player even if you find one. it just comes preloaded with JIK by ye. you have 2 options for hardware in relation to your specific question here- the first is to get the kano stem player, then you can upload your own tracks and they have a stem splitting website for tracks as well. they say they are sold out on their website but you can easily find them on resell platforms or just email the company directly, they will sell to you that way. then, the other TE option will work with the tx-6 only if you pair it with the tp-7. if you hook them up by usb, you get 6 stereo multitracks out from the tp-7 directly into the 6 tracks on the tx-6. then you can level each track on the tp-7 and use the tx-6 effects on each track. i've done it and its super cool! but the kano player is only $200. otherwise the tx-6 and tp-7 is, what, $2700 all together or something? but i think the tx-6 is my most used piece of gear. and there is rumored to be a huge tp-7 update which will make it worth its price coming soon.... if you go the TE route, you will have to put together 6 stereo track multitrack .wav files to load onto the tp-7 which will take a lot of work on your part. the kano stem player is plug and play with their stem splitting service that's free. as well on the kano player you have more immediate playback effects. the TE combo would pretty much just be for straight forward playback and mostly tweaking levels, with some bonus audio effects...
Hello, do you still take juggling classes? I want to be the best juggler in the world so I can entertain a lot of people and delight everyone, can you teach me?
If you make a template for 6x stereo, how do you select the inputs to overdub? I think the TP-7 will only detect and see the first 3 (actual audio inputs of the TP-7). Nice video. 👍🏻 18:02
@@madedigital turns out there was going to be a holiday release of the TE stem player at one point. i got my hands on a user manual for that release but it was all cancelled in the end. such a shame, i really prefer the TE version over the kano one.
there's something about the ob-4 that is really amazing when you experience it in person. i think when you see it online or read the specs its not that compelling perhaps. but this is a case where the sum really is more than its parts...
@@fl00d69 maaaannn I was genuinely saying the same thing before I got it. Admittedly, I did get mine on sale. But if you run into one in the wild, or if you find one on sale, I really very much do recommend it.
i copped privately through a ye reseller on insta. they are not publicly available but if you look around on the internet hard enough you can buy one... lots for sale right now
i looked at your video. the stem player you have looks the same as mine. can you tell me why you think its different? if you watch my video here you can see i explain all the functions and features of the player...
I have watched your video and I also have a released STEM player. I tried using the released STEM player to use it, but it won't make any sound. I am not a professional music producer, I just want to use it as a player. I saw that it has a speaker, but I tried various methods, but still couldn't make a sound. Today, I tried Bluetooth function, and both my phone and computer can receive it.@@jaygilligan
May I ask how to import songs or view memory? I would like to confirm if the inability to produce sound is due to not downloading the songs@@jaygilligan
@@xiangqian9844 you can't import songs into the TE stem player. it comes pre-loaded with jesus is king by kanye west. if your player doesn't make sounds it seems like it is broken then.
