Teenage Enginneering TX-6 Digital Audio and Power Over USB-C to Lightning for iOS Live-streaming 

Can you please explain a bit what you mean about the inputs and trrs cables and balanced audio. I just purchased one two days ago, and I am beginning to learn it.

@@7digger3 In essence, audio in a cable is electricity. cables are big hunks of metal, and so they are in a way identical to antennas. Cables can pick up interference from magnetic fields or imbalances in power, distorting the audio signal carried within. For audio to be carried in a cable, you need a ground and a live wire. In a 3.5mm cable, this is represented as a TS cable (tip, sleeve). It means that the tip of the connector carries one signal, and the sleeve carries another. In pro audio, TRS cables are used (tip, ring, sleeve). An additional wire is used inside the cable, allowing for a third connection. You see TRS cables frequently on headphones. Two signals, one for each earcup, and one for ground. Some mobile phones also use TRRS (tip, ring, ring, sleeve) connectors. These connectors allow for a fourth connection, commonly used for microphone inputs on a headset. In order to avoid interferences in a cable, the TRS standard can be used to send two copies of the same signal inside a cable. One of the signals is inverted compared to the other. On the receiving end, the signals are combined with a mathematical operation, which will cancel out any noise or distortion that was picked up inside the cable. This allows for audio free from interference. The TX-6 only supports TRS inputs, not output. That results in the output signal being susceptible to distortion, which has been my case. I understand this is done from a formfactor standpoint, but I would rather it was slightly larger and outputted on two 3,5mm TRS balanced mono jacks instead of a single 6,3mm TRS stereo jack.

@crowdsourcethetruth8954 thanks for the quick response. I am able to get them both charging via this method but the iPad is still not recognizing the TX-6 as an interface. It will recognize it if I plug directly into the iPad but then I'm back to just using battery power.
