Brendan: *stands in a dark corner *someones approaches the piano Brendan: *Running « DOOOOO YOUUUUU KNOWWWWW THEEEEE BOOGIEEEEEEE WOOOOOOOOOOOOGIEEEEEEEEEEEE????»
Fredrick 2345 when the sounds they make start to become more coherent and they point at objects and move their mouths trying to form the correct word. I’m guessing you don’t have children
I also had no money... I started working 3 months (even illegal at a legal work) and bought me an e-piano... it's up to if you want to spend this money... but you will definetly regret it if you don't give effort to play instrument. I don't recommend buying a cheap keyboard... it should atleast have weightened keys. And hope to find nice people who will give you access to a real grand piano sometimes. Use brain its free.
Or a t-shirt in bold "Ambassador of Boogie Woogie" w/a water mark of Pine Top's image and an your motto in smaller print "piano bashing at its finest"....i'ld buy one
Out of all the videos this has to be one of my favorite videos. She didn’t pull out her phone at all while he was playing. She was genuinely in the moment, and didn’t need her phone out taking a video, she was just happy to have that chance
Times like this give me faith in humanity. Why we have war by hurting eachother instead of just having music battles I do not understand. Thank you Dr.K!
@@dredo5856 I was talkin bout spreading the joy and art of music.....simply that......nothing more......nothing less.......methinks you alone have relegated my words to anything other than PG
My favorite of these, so far! I LOVE how that girl immediately RAN to her place on the bench as soon as he invited her! She really dug that "boogie woogie" stuff, man, and was like crazy hip to learn that jive. 😎 She's a good student.
No. One day, he will walk up to somebody sitting at a piano, and the person sitting there will look up at him, and say... "Do you know boogie woogie?" And then, like the scene in Kung Fu Panda, Brendan will walk into the distance, and slowly fade away.
Martha Brown .... the fact , he takes his time ( which is really his RU-vid reason ). But is talented enough to take strangers & adapt to their skill level & play together !
I am 80! When I want to be happy.....i search Brandon on RU-vid! Oh my, what piano! I took lessons (ha!) at 12 and didn't get far but really enjoyed it!!
Brendan Kavanagh is one of those brilliant pianists who simply knows and understands music to its basic roots. All of these subway concerts are a pleasure to listen to. We need pianos in American subway stations to encourage this sort of impromptu performances, in public, and with no apologies. In fact, we simply need more real music in America. Everything in America in recent decades is too destructive and negative. Thank you, Brendan.
I imagined that while she was jammin with Brendan, keeping tempo with her left hand, she slipped his wallet with her right. Asked him afterwards "do you know picky pocky?" And ran.
good 'ol southern boogie boogie..... I live in Texas, and I was in a hole in the wall bar in Galveston in the 1990's and this very old black man sat down at the piano and busted out boogie boogie for about an hour. Probably the greatest piano playing experience I ever heard...
In all the years I’ve been watching RU-vid, which is since the very beginning, I’ve never watched more than an occasional music video. I just discovered Brandon a few days ago completely by accident, and I have watched more music videos in the last three days that I have in all those years. Tonight I’ve been watching for at least an hour and a half. The joy of watching people making music public places and meeting other musicians and playing together is just so delightful. I can’t get enough of this.
The way you give to all of humanity, or anyone who can google “Boogie Woogie” is amazing and I’m thankful for that. Watching you then grab a stranger and get them learning to chop and playing with them is even better. What I wouldn’t give to find you and just watch and listen for as long as you played. Thank you!
I played in a few local bands back in the late 60's Different styles of music . Now i do a one man band thing. [ Dan and the Noshows ] I did not realize that so many talented younger persons who play music aren't familiar with 12 bar blues . Keep up your good teaching . Good music is good music, today or back then.
From the first 4 bars you played, she had to resist grinning the entire time. I love seeing peoples reaction to seeing someone play piano well, it's almost the same reaction you get doing a magic trick; their facial expressions match almost perfectly. Keep the videos coming, Brendan. You inspire people every day.
That young lady is never going to forget this experience. It is amazing how you can very clearly touch peoples lives with your music. I’ve been subscribed to you for awhile now and watch almost every video you come out with. And I do that never having even played piano. I wish I had even a fraction of the talent you do. Maybe my videos would actually be good then. 😂 keep up the amazing and inspiring work my man. You deserve every sub and more.
I'm a retired nurse and I said to a pretty good piano player "I wish I only had a millionth of your talent. He looked at me and said "I've never given a shot, changed a dressing.. I don't even know what you're listening to when you take a blood pressure. We each have our own gifts." Find yours.
There you go again Dr K... I am amazed at as good as you are, a Master at the Piano, you let others shine, you give them praise and confidence, and love, which propels them to greatness. I love you Brother for all you do, its not just about boogie woogie, its a bout people and you are a Master at it. i love watching you work you boogie woogie on others. They leave feeling empowered, because your an unselfish human being. If i had the money i would fly to one of those pianos to tell you in person... love you Brother from SE Texas Bear .. what you do, especially for the young folks, will change their lives forever..... my hat off to you sir!
So great to see this kind of passing on to another younger generation forms of music that they might never be exposed to. Hopefully you've inspired this young woman to consider expanding her musical repertoire and carry the torch forward. It also will help her in getting a wider variety of gigs. Well done.
Never heard of Boogie Woogie? OH MY GAWD LOL. I LOVE Boogie. I play guitar, self taught. I remember in college, my German Language teacher gave me some German Rock N Roll that was popular at the time in Germany, but I asked him for some Bach. He had no idea what I was going to do with it, but he gave me Bach's Bouree. I told him I was going to play it on guitar. He said I couldn't do that, it won't work. HAHAHAH, ROFLMFAO...no such thing as CAN'T. Now, I couldn't read sheet, still can't. I do know the notes, I transcribed it and learned it and went back and played it for him on both acoustic and electric and he was amazed. WHERE THE HECK are people's head when it comes to music. ANYTHING can be played on any instrument!!!
What he started out playing is Beethoven Moonlight Sonata in D minor. It was always my favorite classical piece to play. Because it’s sad an melancholic and haunted, a bit like me 🤣😂would love to hear him play the whole thing 👍that’s what’s so beautiful about music. It brings all people, from different age group, ethnicities, countries, and walks of life, together in a way nothing else can. It’s what the world needs now...
What would be funny is if we could import 20 or 30 ppl from the Tennessee mountains or the Kentucky hills to a predetermined piano in London where Dr. Boogie appears: ppl w/music in their veins. As he begins playing all the ppl jump up and begin doing their jig. As the playing stops everyone goes back to sitting as if nothing ever happened.
