This is basically Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin but in movie format. Peter and Kevin have been setting the foundation all this time for one of the best TMNT stories and thank the heavens we all saw it come to fruition.
No it's not my man. The Last Ronin the turtles don't mutate, theres not an extra turtle. Shredder killed all the turtles and he gets killed as well. Mikey becomes the Last Ronin to avenge the deaths of the turtles, splinter, April and Casey Jones. Shredder's grandson is the new baddie. Him and Mikey kill each other. It's revealed Casey Jones Jr is now raising a new batch of turtles.
@@michaelmorbid704 What I'm saying is like the concept of the Last Ronin. The last turtle standing, Spider ruling the world just like how Karai's son does the same thing in the comics. It's like the basis for the Last Ronin was taken from this unfinished project.
I was very surprised to learn how great the script was. How mature and dark it got, and Paige Turco could've been a badass in these movies for once. However, the movie was gonna be made by TriMark Pictures who made some really low budget B-movies like Cyborg 2 and the Leprechaun and Warlock movies. I'd imagine the sets and costumes resembling more like Theodore Rex, especially the futuristic dimension world, and the climax most likely would've had cheap late 90s CGI. Also, considering Eric Allard was gonna direct, that meant the costumes would've been just as bad as TMNT 3. (He also claimed the movie needed a $12M budget, meaning it was gonna be even SMALLER than the original movie's budget.) So even if your story is generally good, the awkward TMNT 3 crew is still there making decisions. As much as it hurts to say, but I feel Peter Laird was right that It was for the BEST that this didn't get made.
My dudes. Alternate dimensions, paying homage to a 20th century comic level renaissance artist like Jack Kirby, Samurai Turtles, Master Spider, An evil and alternate April O’Neil, new powers for the turtles, and a multiverse level war!! WHY OH WHY DIDN’T WE GET THIS EPIC MOVIE?!!! THIS COULD’VE BEEN THE MOVIE TO SOLIDIFY THE TURTLES AS AN EVEN BIGGER FRANCHISE THAN EVER!! It’s like the Last Ronin mixed with Turtles Forever and I LOVE IT!!! 😍😍😍
Seeing the Next Mutation concept art in TMNT: Smash-Up, I am actually glad we dodged a bullet with this movie. At the time, TMNT was basically out of steam, as Power Rangers has taken the throne of best kids' action show, and seeing the concept of the turtles getting a second mutation sounds as gimmicky as the third movie's time travel plot (although Raptor Raph was a cool idea, it would be used in future media, like TMNT 4Kids doing the idea for Don, and the original cartoon doing a sort of arc with the unstable mutations in the second-to-last season, with the final season seeing Leo become a unstable monster for two episodes). Also, we should just call Kirby like he is: Slash, as some of the concept art for him makes him look like Slash.
It was also gonna be made by TriMark Pictures who previously did Leprechaun and Warlock, and Cyborg 2. Very laughably bad low budget movies. So the sets and costumes would've reflected on that. Especially if the director that made the costumes for turtles 3 was behind it all, yeah I feel the movie would've been a disaster. After imaging the opening futuristic dimension, I'm convinced the bodysuits would've looked like the ones from Theodore Rex. Not to mention, Paige Turco dressing up like the henchmen lady from Spawn (1997)? No thanks.
Thanks for the narration. I never knew there was a part 4 in talks. But the did sort of create a version of this film with the live action series " THE NEXT MUTATION". They had the fifth turtle ( female) and a wide range of new villains.
I remember while I was in middle school that my class had taken a trip to see the 2007 fully computer generated TMNT film and I rather enjoyed. Seeing on how all the brothers went their separate ways to be reunited and facing new foes and still being a continuation of the live action TMNT.
Its really interesting to hear about these scrapped projects from TMNT's past. Notably its great that no ideas ever truly go to waste; "Raptor Raph's" concept is reflected in his beefy aligator snapping turtle design from 2018's Rise of the TMNT. Same with Donnie's goggles in the Bay films and Rise, and his depiction in Mutant Mayhem with his eyeglasses. The Statue of Tyranny from Kirby's dystopian future showed up as a boss in Shredder's Revenge. Truly fascinating stuff
Love having you back but it’d be so much better without the AI pictures 🙏🏽. Half the fun is that we never get to FULLY realize the vision and have to use the concept art and such made. The ai photos are always going to generate the same style of image even when the style clashes with what you’re saying.
they should've made the tmnt movie parts three and four as a two part turtles in time storyline since the videogame had five other settings besides 1991-92 era nyc with prehistoric, imperial exploration era, us civil war era, what would be the modern era now being neon night riders, and 100 years into the future in space as different settings
Thanks for the video. I have signed copies of the three part Return to New York, and also a reader set of the three. I didn't know that Tales of TMNT vol 2 issue 70 was a missing part. The only copy for sale that I have found for sale online is $429? Ugh, I guess that is due to it's very low print run. One can only dream about having that issue now... ha. (Under 2000 copies.)
The secondary mutations seem really...incidental here. It just kinda feels if you're gonna introduce an element like that, you kinda have to make the movie about dealing with it. Especially since the plot revolves around an alternate reality status quo universe, you know? And now there's less contrast because the characters are not in their more normal status quo. I understand they're trying to sell toys here but maybe that's even more reason to make the secondary mutations the focus of the story. Anyway this all seems way too ambitious visually and budget wise for the time, imo. I can just feel the budget bloating. Would have been better than 3 though.
What a fucking weird and cool story. When morphing was mentioned I scoffed, but the story ended up so creative and ahead of its time. Shame it didn't end up made into a comic or animated film!
This sounds very interesting, and Spyder (as I believe it was spelled in concept art) sounds like a worthy successor to The Shredder. I wish this happened.
What was the point of the secondary mutations? Who the fuck is Josh? Didn't most of this get recycled into the other failed fourth movie idea, "The Foot Walks Again?"
it still might under new owership of either sony or skydance i remember steve barron directing movies with golden harvest so we will see 4 movie after roinn and tmnt 2 one coming soon
TMNT: OUT OF THE SHADOWS was not made in "hopes to captivate old and new fans". MICHEAL BAYS versions were a cheap money grab. And he got upset when the film bombed and got bad feed-back. He then called then insulted the older fans by saying that film was created for kids, and that why are adults triggered? Not in those exact words, but similar. He was being sarcastic because like most of his lackluster films,he can't take criticism. Thought I was glad to see BAXTER STOCKMAN, BEEBOP and ROCKSTEADY, KRANG, and a few other characters.....the film was still garbage for the plot, editing, dialog, and other issues Im not going to even get into.
😒 I guess a proper sequel for the original TMNT movie was just not meant to be? The story to the proposed fourth film sounded good, but it felt like it was again taking another step further away from the sorce material and just continued to go down that same path as TMNT 3 did, but with a bit of a dark tone. 😕
Too be honest I was never a big fan of the TMNT franchise because the ninja turtles they don’t feel and look like real turtles this is why I prefer Gamera over tmnt because he actually look like a Real Turtle and feels like a Turtle
I usually really enjoy this channel and watch as soon as there is an upload, but if the videos will be mostly AI images going forward, I wont be subscribing anymore.
This script makes no sense turning them into xmen is goofy why they skip over the mirage characters like baxter stockman renet savanti romero leatherhead etc
