You can't do "The Last Ronin" without an R rating. That's like trying to make a Deadpool movie that's not R rated. Just doesn't work for the story or character.
I don’t think they could do a last Ronin movie anyway. That’s taking a huge jump. They didn’t easy the audience or nothing which would be their best shot since they didn’t start dark to begin with. I think they should scrap that script and take it from the top and do that shit right this time.
TMNT 1990 is still the best comic book to film adaptation ever made. I would’ve enjoyed a true sequel to that one but I’ll take a Last Ronin storyline if it’s rated R and treated like Deadpool.
They had a black and white version !? I never saw that one I do remember the cameo thing they had in the animated movie Turtles Forever to end the 2003 animated series
@@heruone3249 Yeah, the original movie from 1990 followed the comics more than the cartoon and you'll notice it's darker than the cartoon. When the director showed playmates toys the movie they were like "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?? This is supposed to be a kids movie". To this day that original movie is still the best one. You'll notice the second movie is a lot more kid friendly and they weren't even allowed to use their weapons in the movie which is why they used things like hot dogs as weapons.
mikey being the last ronin is actually kinda perfect! as hes the last person you would expect to be the last ronin. nobody expects the class clown to be the one to be pushed over the edge to there limits. 🤷
He is the most skilled out of the 4. He mastered all of his brother’s weapons which why Splinter gave him the nunchucks. I think it surfaced around Mikey needing to apply more focus.
@@bingram2011 yep. In the 2012 comics from that tv series, tales from the lair part one Splinter says he's naturally gifted and has more raw talent than his brothers. Mikey was always my favorite.
Mikey’s only weakness was always his ability to focus. Giving him a something to channel all his energy into is like sunlight going through a magnifying glass
@@X7393him not being young now is the BEST PART because the REAL fans know who he is. Him being older means that he is experienced and been through much. It works
The 1990 film is the best TMNT film and still holds up today, Imagine what they could do with the suits now, with modern-day technology, it would blow away all this CGI shit that we saw in the last films (Which were absolute trash).
This is getting very exciting for Paramount first from what i hear sonic 3 might be rated pg-13 then The Last Ronin if they do it it will be Nickolodeon's First ever R Rated Movie and even a Transformers and G.i Joe crossover all i can say is keep doing well Paramount
A rated R setting would be also a dedication to the original fans who were fans of the original series the comic book to the cartoon series from 80’s! We’re not young anymore but we are still fans of the original series! But I still enjoyed the original movies as well the Jim Henson generation! RIHP ⚡️😞👍🏻
I'm looking forward to this, whether it be a solo movie or possible a duology, trilogy, whatnot. Having said that, I hope this opens the door to an R rated TMNT movie aimed at adults with the 4 turtles battling The Shredder & the Foot Clan or other villains & factions. Either a movie or even a TV series based on regular TMNT, but not geared at kids. It'd be awesome to see the turtles actually hurting the bad guys the way they did in the original comics (severe beatings, severing limbs, butchering, etc). If parents complain about it, like they did the awesome 1990 movie (1 of the best movie adaptations so far), then... I'd tell them to f--k off & that there are more kid friendly versions out there & that they just have to know which ones they are, but I'd just tell them.
It is a solo movie. Because it’s about the last surviving brother dealing with the trauma of losing his brothers, splinter, Casey and others. And then seeking revenge and retribution
I dont think they should do it. I think they should base an entire Cinematic Universe around Both "The Last Ronin" and the 90's TMNT franchise and tie them together. With Splinters backstory that was told back in the 90's as he told it. I would like to see an origin story that shows what happened between Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki first then build into TMNT and watch the whole ooze scenario take place. I would like to introduce new characters to the franchise as well as maybe a love interest for Splinter (A Female mutant rat) as well as maybe a 5th Turtle down the line. Bring back the 90's Turtles and all the characters from that franchise and vibe to the modern day and introduce characters like Leatherhead (in live action) and Han and have the story and universe build towards "The Last Ronin". Have it well written and directed. You can still make "The Last Ronin" (The endgame) rated R or whatever, but the anticipation for it during the build up will make it better
@@richardklein1167 No they didn't. Do you remember the original TMNT movie franchise? The one that came out in the early 90's Live Action. That's what I'm referring to. The franchise beloved by all before the 3rd film. I'm talking rebooting that franchise into a cinematic universe with "The Last Ronin" as a guide to finish the story and franchise. Get what I'm saying?
I'am a 4th cousin of jim henson. I'am not overly fond of michael bays adaption. Though if you want a fresh new ninja. I'm writing a ninja series. Featuring a ninja speedster vampire dualist. The first one is out. I got a free audiobook on my youtube channel. Its called Shi No Kage:Death's Shadow
They’ve been destroying the turtles one movie at a time. Raph is 9 feet tall, Donatello is a super nerd (this one killed me), and Mike looks like he’s a homeless beach bum. Just go back to the regular turtles PLEASE.
Even so, I hope it’s not exaggerated. If they do have it R-rated it’s tough for me to enjoy the movie if there is no balance. Sometimes the R-rated material can overwhelm the movie and take the focus of the story. The actual last ronin comic as well as lost years is balanced and has a great story. The mature content doesn’t overtake the story but rather is part of it.
Walter Hamada. Thank you!! Please let Zack Snyder be director. I missed Walter Hamada and Kevin Tsujihara. They both denied any personal wrongdoings. I didn't know what happened to these too. They are better off in new careers and job, financially healthy for them and their own families. Good luck for these two men.
Hollywood will rework the story, it will not be an exact interpretation. But still excited for it. I feel there will be several added flashback scenes that include all 4 turtles for paramount merchandising bottom line. Whatever the case is I look forward to it.
I don't know if John Likens made those awesome CGI Turtles. Test footage stuff. Omg, get him or his crew or whoever mode those. Be dope. Great job on those!. Step aside Mr. Bay. I'm sorry. You need to make them like that. Beautiful*. If you havent seen the test footage stuff, check that out on youtube. Awesome Turtles!. 👌
Who is your favorite turtle? Mine is Michelangelo I’m 46 years old and I remember when the turtles came out in the 1980’s. I went and seen the first movie in the theater and thought that it was amazing. I was doing martial arts back then and did them for about 12 years and loved any movie that had martial arts in them. During the 80’s-90’s guys like Van Dame,Seagal,Jackie Chan and others were really popular. Marked for Death,Out for Justice,Under Siege,Bloodsport,Universal Soldier,Kickboxer were huge movies.
Loving the new bulky CGI look! And to top it off this will now be R-rated! Been waiting decades to see the turtles in a more darker and realistic setting. Please don't disappoint!
You can make a Ninja Turtle look awesome. It's a reptile turned human...plus being a huge fan of tmnt especially being little knowing uncle phil from Fresh Prince sound so similar and it was him playing Shredder. The orginal brutality of the orginal comics. The main fan base is like myself in their 30s and myself would love to see a back story franchise of all the characters honestly. Make all their attire red again for all I care then they all meet eventually after their back stories. They decide on colors or something small. Then you finally have the team and endless possibilities then bring it down to pg 13 when all together. More broad audience but, I'd still to the main audience first. Not the nickelodeon generation. Although the orginal writers are barely friends anymore and the one that sold control to Nickelodeon is very wealthy. I think they can rekindle their relationship and all the years thinking about all the things they could've done. Bring that all together and probably get a few good ass movies out of it!
The last ronin provides an epic conclusion to a beloved series from childhood, hopefully they translate the same feeling of the comic into the big screen 😎🤙
This movie both excites me and worries me at the same time, because much like Shadow's story in Sonic 3, this is a story they really have to be extremely careful with in order to not screw up.
FINALLY! But lets wait and see… How the movie industry is going, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is yet again, more THE MESSAGE shoved into this movie…
Last film would have done better if they didnt directly copy the spiderverse animation mixing style...they went for the mainstream appeal and that lost alot of the deep followers..but it was good..but had no relation or depth connecting the original stories and lore..they went for the hollywood appeal instead of the visionary story arc and art
I swear I hope this all continues and we get to see this movie the story is awesome and we already know each one of them and their personality and their mental stability and for what I see so far if it really comes to fruition I think it's going to be extremely bad ass and dark and other fans like myself out there you've read it you know how dark and deep the story is and the thought processes that he goes through after he's on his own you know it's going to be awesome and we want to see it
Don't do R-Rated Don't do PG-13 Release both options into theaters and let the people choose. A simple idea producers/editors/directors are ignoring when releasing a film.
Honestly the only way they can do this is to follow the comic if it does some random non canon stuff with a random gay guy or gay lady just because it'll suck
Michael Bay better not be apart of the production as one of the producers as his awful taste would poison the film, and that they don’t change it to PG-13 which was what happened to Venom (2018). To which Venom could’ve been the conductor of his symphony of carnage in what should’ve been an R-Rated flick but was watered down and given the child gloves. The Last Ronin hits on plenty of serious things that shouldn’t be watered down to be PG-13, as would be a disgrace to one of the darkest stories from the series.
Sounded all exciting until i heard the red flag phrase "a modern audience"... which is a term linked to tone def false visions of a modern audience, virtue signaling, and box office failure. But at least this is a reviewer reporting on it, and not the words from the studio.
Honestly i would rather prefer a animated tv show more then a live action movie since the comic is five issues long including the five issues of the lost years just saying tho that’s just me🤷
If they didn’t make it more like the original it will fail period, if there smart they will use the 1rst movie’s visuals and format but with a modern day punch
Yeah right, maybe with 💯's of Foot soldier robots. And a bigger Krang again with his Stone soldiers from Dimension X. AhYeah! And Rocksteady and Bebop make some noise in the streets of NYC ❤😊 That would make an Ninja Turtle Blockbuster movie. But please don't forget Baxter Stockman and an better Manta human. ( because of the Turtles: Mutant mayham topic )
Scripts and plots… here’s an idea, stick to the script and plot of the Graphic novel itself. We don’t want surprises. We don’t want the Director or writers take on somebody else’s original idea. We went the original idea brought the screen. That’s it! Leave it as it is and just make the damn movie… As far as who writing and directing, I do like the newer Batman, villain could’ve definitely been casted better and given more depth. But that’s it. Everything else was trash. That’s the guy you picked? Going to stick with my low expectations on this one. Surprise me by adapting the Graphic Novel fully and completely 🤷♂️ Nobody cares what vision the director has other then making the movie visually stunning
Yes please. We need more reality in giant talking ninja turtle movies… make it like reality… Hollywood says representation matters so all the green talking turtles in the world will felt seen.
It would be nice if they have jordan Peele and m. Night shaymlon in some capacity creatively. All hands need to be on deck for this. It can and will be the greatest Turtles adaptation to exist.
