The majority of their comments boil down to “he has such a big platform and so many people look up to him that it’s dangerous that he has a wrong opinion”. That’s absurd. His second tweet too, when he said he doesn’t 100% agree with anybody and they said he’s arrogant for that. Really? I doubt they could find a single person who truly believes EVERYTHING they believe. It’s really hard to take any of these people seriously when they call Kanye’s opinions wrong.

His opinion that slavery was a choice is wrong, the actual facts have been known and studied for hundreds of years now. They didn't unterstood a thing. Kanye just wanted to say that he doesn't understand how slavery happened for 400 years. It's not well said but he just thinks that people could've finished it since a long time. They weren't enslaved for 400 years, it's been 400 years since it began and more than 150 since it ended. People are messing up the math. The 'slavery' that has been happening since then is mental slavery since the actual slavery ended.

@Coley cole He worded it poorly I can tell you that, his point,however, went over EVERYONE'S head because the message he meant about Mental slavery was the message Bob marley once said about freeing our minds and also what Morgan Freeman once said about slavery by quoting "stop talking about it". Context is important and as you see the way Kanye said it obviously everyone turned against him without any idea on what his entire statement was about.

there is a big difference between not being allowed to talk and being told to THINK before you speak. You can say whatever you want, but you will have to live with the consequences. free speech doesn't mean you can get away with everything you say. further more free speech is not about convincing others that your oppinion is right. it is about creating debates and arguments to let people form their own oppinion, but again, if you start such a debate or argument, you have to live with the consequences. you can go to a black man and call him the n word and say that they deserved slavery. it's your right to do so, but you will get punched in the face several times as consequence. every action has a reaction.

juch Star, I completely agree with Basti here. and that last part was just an extension of the scenario he came up with, I would hope they agree that no one should be punched in the face for their opinion, but still. Words have consequences, your free to say whatever you want while people are free to say anything back. Freedom of speech protects you from the government and being discriminated against for your opinions, it does not let you say whatever you want, consequence free, especially someone like Kanye, who went on a broadcasted interview knowing full well that what he would say, would be broadcasted to millions of people.

There is a difference between Listening and Hearing. Listening is true understanding where hearing, on the other hand, is just acknowledging the fact that someone else is speaking without considering their rationale by just siding with what you believe to be true. From what I can tell these teens only *listen* when the view is on their side and *hear* when it's on the other. But thats my opinion.
