As funny as her movement was, in the legend Teke teke was said to be extremely fast, at inhuman speed, even if she is moving with only hands.

This game is so bizarre. Metamorphosis being right on this guy's desk first thing upon starting the game, the old lady, the employee just screwing off to the back room while there's still someone there shopping, the player just deciding to enter in through the back door into the staff room without a single thought, no one reacting at all to the car crash, and then the game just abruptly ending after running the monster over like roadkill. What a trip from start to finish.

Teke Teke used to be a high school girl who was bullied, one day while running away from her bullies she got into a train incident and died, her body split in half. Legend says her top part is still lurking around the same train station, walking on her hands, making the sound like "teke teke teke", searching for her other part.... I knew this legend so I was very delighted to see Mark play it! thanks Mark, an amazing video again.

The story of Teke Teke was told by my English teacher who taught our Japanese class at our school (he lived in Japan for over 20 years it made an interesting person) and he is a great story teller so when he told this story it scared the shit out of me, and my class. The girls made up rumors that Teke Teke was living in our school's bathroom (it was in the basement of the school and old as FUCK) and it became a school legend that people still think she haunts the stalls along with another ghost that haunts the far left stall.

She's looking for her lower half of her body that she lost in a train accident. "Teke teke" is japanese auditory description of what she sounds like when she's crawling around. Any victim she captures loses their lower half..but she can't keep it because they are not the half she is looking for. Japanese urban legends are some of the creeppiest I've heard, and the Teke Teke is one of the ones that got me into creepy pasta/urban legends.

Fun fact- Streetlamps actually do automatically dim themselves to avoid themselves from burning out as fast, they have a heat sensor and once the bulb reaches a certain temperature it dims itself or sometimes it flickers if the bulb is older.

Teke teke is one of those urban legends that seriously scares me, so I'm glad Mark was there to alleviate some of that anxiety watching this

The reason for all the convenience store horror is that there are convenience stores every couple of blocks. Theyre so common that I'm sure there are some creepy and unsettling ones. EDIT: My girlfriend just moved from Japan. Convenience stores everywhere, some are pretty run down and passed along through generations. Some store owners live out of them. I'm sure many have died in them.

If you've been watching Markiplier for awhile you always notice that he has something weird going on around his house in any generation, back in ye olden days Mark used to hear noises behind him and outside his room situations like that, and that continued on for awhile even in the sound proof rooms I believe, when he got to this house he had strange occurrences with his closet, and now it's that light, Markiplier is a ghost magnet or something either way his background situations are interesting lol

Oh my god, Teke Teke was the first horror story I ever heard! It was called “Click-Click Slide” in my area and I was around 7 or 8 when I heard it. Freaked me out so bad I couldn’t do anything alone for over a month, I even got my mom to walk me to the bathroom and wait outside😭 Freaky shit, it still creeps into my mind every so often. I’m nowhere near as scared of it anymore, though.

I absolutely adore the legend of Teke Teke, it’s a Japanese folk legend about this girl who was bullied constantly, and one day when she was running from her bullies she fell into the tracks and was cut in half. She now spends her days trying to find a new pair of legs, and to get her revenge on those who hurt her. In the legend she wields a sickle and not an axe, since she lived in the countryside with her bullies. It’s also widely known that if you hear about her or hear her name in your head she’s going to get you, but I’ve heard of her many times and so far I have my legs haha

This game is based an Japanese legend called "Teke- Teke" , it is about a woman who was in the Japanese army. The men soldiers were making fun of her and pushed her on a train track. She was sadly cut in half, the legend says if you go in a empty dark road at night in Japan, run in circles whilst saying "Teke-Teke", and look around you will see her. A distorted woman figure with no legs running towards you. You may think you can out-run her because she has no legs, but she's very fast. If you summon her it's over, she will chase you and kill you.

That jumpscare made me genuinely scared for the first time in several years lol

I like how the scythe knocked on the window 4 times, especially since this is a Japanese game, because 4 is is the unlucky number in Japan and usually means "death" because the Japanese word for 4 and die are identical. The reason why so many Japanese horror games have convenience stores in them is because Japan has, you guessed it, a lot of convenience stores. Like one for every 50-60 houses per neighborhood or something like that.

It's pronounced Tek-a Tek-a, Teke Teke. It's because when she crawls around, her nails make a teke teke sound. Teke teke, is a Japanese urban legend about the ghost of a schoolgirl who is said to have fallen onto a railway line, where her body was cut in half by a train. She is an onryō, or a vengeful spirit, who lurks in urban areas and around train stations at night. Since she no longer has a lower body, she travels on her hands, dragging her upper torso and making a scratching or "teke teke"-like sound. If she encounters an individual, she will chase them and slice them in half at the torso, killing them in such a way that mimics her own disfigurement.

The sound is honestly a great horror sound that isn't used anywhere, a fast pitter patter of wet feet (or hands in this case) up until the point mark talks about it being someone yankin one out real quick, then it just becomes comedy. Having the last minute of video just of that sound had me dying XD

I remember having to do an assignment based on urban legends for literature back in 2nd grade and stumbled upon this one, this actually got me scared to the point i panicked at midnight because i thought everything was the teke teke and now i find it so funny lmao

So there is many people in the comments telling you her story, but you can survive her (according to some Japanese people) by getting away from her (ex: climbing a tree) and when she asks you some questions you must answer: When she asks “Do you need your legs?” You need to answer “I need my legs right now” When she asks “who told you my story?” You must answer “Kashima Reiko”. Kashima Reiko Predates Teke Teke. She also got cut in half by a train and whoever hears her story will get a visit within a month. The legless spirit of Kashima Reiko is said to haunt bathroom stalls, asking occupants if they know where her legs are. If a questioned individual replies with an answer that Kashima does not find acceptable, she will rip or cut slice them in half. Individuals may survive the encounter by replying that her legs are on the Meishin Expressway, or by responding with the phrase "kamen shinin ma" Also some people state simply not looking at her works, but it’s less common. There’s also a part of Teke Teke story where when she was cut, she was still alive and asked a stranger for help, but they left her to die.

The Teke-Teke is actually an Onryo (meaning "Vengeful spirit" in Japanese), and is a common tale/folklore found in Japan. It was said that the Teke-Teke was once a school-girl, who accidentally fell into rail tracks. She tried to escape, but a train split her body in half, effectively killing her. She now wanders train stations at night, and since she's missing her lower body, she uses her hands and elbows to drag herself across the floor, making a "Teketeke" sound, which is how she got her name. Folktales state that if you're in a train station at night, she will chase you, and if caught, will split your body in half. In some versions of the story, if you use a bathroom stall in a train station, she will approach you and ask "Where are my legs?". Failure to answer correctly or ignoring the spirits question will result in her slipping through the space at the bottom of the stall, dragging you by the foot, and either eating you or splitting your body in half.

So inspiring Mark was able to recreate the teke teke sound himself at the end using only his bare hands in the dark
