More Tekken is never a bad thing. There is a special place in my heart for nearly all the Tekken games (especially 3, no surprise there), and these two are no exception. Timeless, inventive and fun!
Tekken 2 was my first game ever! Some of my earliest memories are of me playing Tekken 2 on the PS1. My earliest really vivid memory of my childhood was getting Tekken 3 from my dad at my Third birthday party in my Grandmother's basement, good times.
As someone who's played tekken 2 a lot way after playing the newer games I can say that it has a certain rhythm to it. You got to learn what moves and combos flow together well and perfectly out Maneuver and outthink the AI, and no max tekken 1 and 2 were major hits and tekken 3 sold even more tekken was always cool since the first game and completely dominated the ps1 fighting game scene. Tekken 2 is kind of liking playing vanilla sf2 it's really fun once you get the hang of it
I love these games...I love Tekken 2 Of it has not aged well but at it's time it was a master piece! It had something few fighters had at that time....a soap opera storyline.
+Jeedy Jay well it's sort of weird going back to it after playing 3 but I find it has a much better single player offering and a bigger roster overall for multiplayer. It's not as smooth as 3 but it still animates well and every match is engaging because of just how much damage you can do, it makes the game fast and fun and if you're like me and played tekken 3 and beat it on hardest pretty easily it's a lot more fun to go back to tekken 2 and be presented with a more challenging and tactical fighting game. I love both games but tekken 2 has more to offer overall, with the exception of tekken ball which is which is awesome, not a big fan of tekken force it's controls really weirdly but other than that tekken 3 is also pretty amazing.
