Look, I get why people love Tekken 3. It is more refined and you have additions like Brian and Hourang but man, Tekken 2 is such a great foundation of a cool, almost realistic, 3D fighting game, with some fantastical elements. I love the dramatic camera angles involed with the grapples. The characters are very versatile and great move sets. Plus the roster is much larger and overall great. Plus, Ogre is a lame boss character compared to Devil/Angel. This game did so many things right, it's still fun as hell to play. Smooth animation and frame rate.
@@ibblue0710 damn wonder who that could be??? 🤔🤔🤔 lmao Honestly 3 always left a sour taste in my mouth cause they took out my girl Jun. I played Tag 1 much more than 3 as a result.
@@lindblumpickles3407 Agreed. Jun was always one of my mains in Tekken 2 and Tekken Tag. Like, it could have been cool to see her as the new boss character in 3. Like the new "Angel", since Jin took some of the Devil from Kazuya.
Simmons in 4 year old T1&2 upload: "Who the hell's Michelle?" Simmons in recent T1&2 upload: "Who the fuck's Michelle?" Nothing has changed except more confidence in swearing on camera. Never change, Simmons.
TEKKEN and Marshall Law's Run Up & Drop move; the reason I wanted a PlayStation. I would have asked for any system back in the day, just to play TEKKEN and do that move over and over again.
Wouldn't it be awesome for Bandai Namco to make a Tekken collection with: ▶Tekken ▶Tekken 2 Ver. β ▶Tekken 3 ▶Tekken 4 ▶Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection ▶Tekken 6 BTW, the "B" is β as in _beta_ .
I loved this game when it came out. Tekken 1 was my first Playstation 1 game and Tekken 2 was a game that I´ve got on my birthday. I have so many cool memories of those games and to hear that people trash it like that...... it just hurts. Sorry. You can´t expect that a 3D Fighting game from the 90s plays like Tekken 7.
Unfortunately Virtua Fighter 2 was out and played much better than the first two Tekken games. Tekken 3 decided to actually take advantage of the 3D plane and managed to have it's own identity compared to it's predecessors.
I still feel that T2 has a lot of charm. T1 is marred down by its speed, lack of responsiveness and badly aged visuals. While T2 isn't much of a looker either, it has enough improvements to manage to cross the line between painfully antiquated and charmingly antiquated.
Honestly I prefer 2 over 3. 3 ticked me off with it replacing some of my favorite characters. And if I'm going to play 3, I'd rather play Tag since it has the stuff from 3 plus the original characters. I wish Jaycee would have stuck to 7 because screw Julia for replacing Michelle.
Heihachi was playable in Tekken 1 (PS1 version at least) I remember being 12 years old (back in 98) and it took me forever to unlock him because what you have to do is have 20 seconds on the clock and put the fight count to 1 and be arcade mode without using a continue. The first game in my opinion isn’t great and it ultimately only has a roster of 17 characters of those 17 characters only the starting eight have endings. Tekken 2 on the other hand every character had an ending to this day I still think has the best roster of any Tekken game (main series) The music was better than both the first and third, again in my opinion. The only thing that was better in three was the gameplay even though I will say graphically when compared to VF2 Tekken 2 doesn’t really hold up all that well. Just my take and opinion is all.
Yes. You were able to unlock everyone in this game...... even tho Armor King played like King with Kazuya mixed into him...... and Kunimitsu was pretty much Yoshimitsu with an different skin.
Wow! These classic old Tekken games, kinda play similar to the Tekken 7 game. The combat might still be very basic and stiff, but at least the old games, had a charm to them. Tekken 2 is a bit better than Tekken 1 in some ways. But I can't fully agree, that Tekken 3 is better than Tekken 2. But yeah, VF1 back then, always had more style, more depth and was always, alot more fun to play. Tekken 1, 2, 3 etc and even Tekken 7, despite having basic, barebones combat, are kinda okay though. But I will admit, the older Tekken games, like Tekken 1, Tekken 2 and Tekken 3 are fun games, and had a cool charm to them.
