Maybe that's why Heihachi got the Tekken Force to drag the reporter away. Because the guy's lack of emotion was depressing him. I suppose you could explain the reporter's monotone by saying that Jin destroying his town and causing the death of his son traumatised him to the point where he became dead inside but nah I think it's just bad voice acting.

I suspect this will be the story of Tekken 8: learning about the Hachijo Clan. How do they connect to Azazel, the Rectifier and Originator of the Devil Gene? Why didn't Heihachi start a private investigation towards the Hachijo Clan? Did Claudio know about the Clan? And was it their Devil Gene or some other force that corrupts Jinpachi after so many years?

@@arbiteras honestly it's not a retcon back in Tekken 1 we didn't even know why kazuya and heihachi were fighting people kept thinking heihachi wants to kill kazuya for no reason or jealous of his power but that's not the case the reason why he turned out this way because he lost everything cause of the devil Gene heihachi had no choice to kill his wife also there's no way he'll get through kazuya either since he has the Devil Gene and hatred of his father for killing his mother.

remember that heihachi imprisoned his own father under honmaru to get M.Z. for himself, this is when they were married and kazuya was borned. so thats why kazumi tried to do all that. however i think that she always loved him after all, but the Gene corrupted her personality; my theory is that the Hachijou clan send their killers depending on the Gene to do most of the work, without thinking in the consequences, seeming that it cant be controlled properly. Kazumi wanted to stop her husband and made a pact with Akuma knowing that maybe her humanity would be wiped out fully, you can correct me if you want. P.D: i love Akuma, he's the boss.

Madheim777 from what I understood Heihachi already started a war(after locking up Jinpachi) and therefore Kazumi had to stop him. Yes she loved him as seen in the trailer while she's talking to Akuma. She knew Heihachi and Kazuya would have been evil to the core.

I think he told the reporter about his past in a last ditch attempt to restore his and the Mishima Zaibatsu's reputation after Kazuya made the world think the Mishima Zaibatsu had destroyed their own satellite by shooting it with a Devil beam and probably to try and get sympathy from the world before he went to face Kazuya.

AgentJFM91 Everything Heihachi did prior to killing Kazumi was because of fear. He trapped Jinpachi under Hon Maru to see if the devil gene was on his side of the family, he then threw kaz off the cliff to see if he also had the devil gene (was right), and shot jin in the head to see if he had the devil gene (was right again).He basically became mentally unstable after killing her, but his heart was in the right place. The side characters never had a main contribution to the main story in Tekken (Besides Paul Phoenix in Tekken 3)

Harada's writing ruined everything since he took over from Tekken 4.

The only thing it truly changes is shifting the position of the originator of the Devil gene from Jinpachi to Kazumi.

We, as players do not get to pick and choose what's canon or not, nor is Harada malicious in his retcons.
