Thanks for highlighting the tutorials and training mode. Most FG devs take the concepts of these games for granted, not realizing that most people will not look outside the game for learning resources, important information should be In Game. Seeing this makes me very excited for the game.
Tekken 8 might be the most important entry in the series as it is the game that seems to be bringing people from other community to try the game mostly from mk which means it will get way more coverage and love specially if it turn out to be and play as good as it looks
@@donnyg9993 The idea of "casuals" in any game is so lame. Games are supposed to played for fun, and it''s a good thing that devs are willing to provide resources to players who want to get better, whether they don't know where to start, or don't have the time to grind a fighting game for 8 hours a day. If you think any game is being dumbed down due to the skill level of the player base, you're probably the casual, because a ton of games are easy to pick up and still have extremely high skill ceilings for competitive players.
@@donnyg9993it's already dumbed down, there's literally a special game journalist mode enabled by default. Tekken players really have a superiority complex over this game lmao
I honestly really hope the customization Day1 is way better fleshed out than T7 was. I probably put more hours into TT2 on making silly outfit-pair teams than I did actually fighting, and 7's options Day1 were EXTREMELY limited by comparison. Tekken Ball being back too just puts such a massive smile on my face.
Funny with Pc how things of changed when fighting games were a rare occurrence to how now the big names come as well as the lesser known ones..back in the day I was obsessed with the doujin fighting games like melty blood
It would really be interesting to hear what you guys think about Tekken in comparison to Mortal Kombat. Could be even in a podcast format, maybe even with more people. E.g. if I may list some questions: What do you like / not like about Tekken gameplay? Do you feel Okizeme is honorless hehe; Mortal Kombat vs Tekken lore. Does Tekken compare more to the 3D MKs in your opinion (probably as much as making a paper airplane vs the Space Shuttle, no?); do you prefer your Fighting Games to have projectiles; MK switched to the 1234 notation, which characters did you use to play; do you watch Tekken tournaments and do you enjoy the technical intricacies? Which game needs a better reaction time on a pro-level if that question even makes sense. And finally Balance vs broken stuff. Peace!
I'm super hyped my first tekken been labbing Jin was able to beat all the ghost and all 4 characters on ultra hard in the demo can tell how much I still need to learn probably going to get smoked my first matches online
I might actually get this at some point, I tried learning T7 but felt so overwhelmed cuz of how Tekken is compared to other fighting games, but it seems like they really doubled down on the learning elements in this one
am really glad to see you guys covering this game Tekken has been one of my all time favorite series and one I got into around the same time as mk and seeing cross pollination between the communities feels really good. I really appreciated the Tekken 2 themes in the background of the video too that game has probably my favorite soundtrack out of smt of the Tekken games
2:51 That could be because of Shader Caching in real-time that's why you've felt a sudden drop. Street Fighter 6 has built-in/pre-built caching due to RE Engine. Unreal Engine 5 a jank in that department at the moment lol

I am absolutely loving Tekken 8, first Tekken game I’ve ever played but I have played Soul Calibur so I get the gist. But I wouldn’t have even picked it up if MK1 wasn’t disappointing me like it currently is. I simply don’t enjoy the grind the NRS is forcing and the excessive monetization of things that should already be a part of the game. So far with T8 I’m not feeling that grind (Probably because it’s new), it’s just pick up and play what you want. I’m also not feeling like the developers want to gouge me for skins because you can make your own palette swaps free of charge.

Ketchup is a Yoshimitsu main! He just earned my respect more. 👍 Even the Die Hard MK boys Ketchup and Mustard are leaving MK for Tekken 8. Tekken 8 > MK1

It would be funny to see an MK character in tekken, honestly they might do it just hope they integrate better then Akuma did. Also it’s looking like it’s going to be pretty popular, overall great scores from everyone.
I would say I have a hard time envisioning an MK character in a game where they can't rip someone's arm off, shove it down their throat, and pull it out of their torso, but Negan managed to work in Tekken, and he comes from a rated M franchise. I'm almost positive Tekken 8 will get at one guest character, I'm pulling for Tifa, but there's telling who it could be.
My guide recommendation is actually playing the game and trying to discover something for yourself. A wild concept in today's world where everyone is an ambitious E-athlete looking for prize money instead of entertainment.
Now you know this is interesting when a mortal kombat channel as popular as yours is venturing off into the world Tekken especially Tekken 8 😁 I definitely got a big feeling about this game being a huge success. You'll love the competitive scene too. Much success to you guys
Bamco should be the to take notes about single player, the content in Tekken 8 is still far behind MK1 even with the quantity, also the netcode in MK1 is far better than T8 and T8 also doesn't have a tutorial mode unlike MK1.
@@alantaylorfc It's not drama to call out WB for valuing greed over providing a good product. The numbers speak for themselves, 1k daily player base for MK1 vs 20k daily player base for Tekken 8.
After spending dozens and dozens of hours in MK1 to master a few >40% combos with two characters just to find out that the obscenely difficult input timing makes it impossible to consistently land them online due to micro lag stuttering randomly, I'm just not going to buy this game if it has the same problem. That killed the game for me. If micro lag stuttering that eats inputs is simply unavoidable, then it's the devs job to balance the required input timings *around* that amount of lag, and therefore not require 1 or 2 max frame window inputs through multiple parts of the combos.

The biggest concern I have with Tekken 8, is that there is no benchmark test that you need to take before you can go online. I think this will hurt the online experience more than the netcode. Anytime you run into any other PC players, there's no guarantee that they're able to run the game at a stable 60 FPS as far as I know.

I feel that. What I would recommend (if your willing) is to not look at the all moves tab in the move list. Instead learn the main techniques. It's a much shortened list that tells you the main moves your mostly going to be using with that character anyway. A majority of players are probably only going to use a good 10% of what the character can do. The fun part is finding out what your 10% of that character will belong to you. There can legit be two versions of a high skill King because both Lil Majin and Tasty Steve will do different things with the character.
You don’t use half of them, it’s not that big a deal you just learn what’s needed, your punishers and lunchers is all u need. And they made the heat engagers universal so nothing to learn there.
You don't have to be a "shill" to get free games nowadays. You just have to be a youtuber or streamer with a few dozen followers, and game companies will send you not only games, but consoles to play them on and houses to put the consoles into. So accusing K & M of being shills is not truthful.
