I haven’t played the DLC characters in MK11 but from the base roster I definitely thought Frost was the worst. Playing with her was miserable in my opinion.
I think I'm going to have to start calling anything from mortal Kombat 1 from the 90s as "MKO" for mortal kombat original, since we now technically have 2 damned mk1
I remember being a kid, playing MK4 and spamming the teleporting stomp of Quan Chi against my step-brother, so he was automatically one of the strongest in my eyes lol
@bryanbridges6152 I'd agree he is still top 5, he just staggers a lot more now bc his combos don't do the damage they used to so they're not as rewarding. But I've seen people adjust by using Kano Stryker and goro to make his chip really good and safe with db3. It's still like 10% for a blocked string and kameo that usually can't be punished.
I mean yeah if it was true but say sub zero is the weakest character in mk1 is crazy there’s so many hi tier level sub players everyone uses him and he has some pretty good tools with pretty decent damage

@@nonyaxdova543he has no good tools. Every character has better equivalent tools other than scorpion. Everything sub zero has is a gimmick that doesn't work if you're opponent is slightly competent.
I'm always happy to see MK vs DC Universe discussed. It wasn't the best game but I had so much fun playing it and spent hours upon hours playing online. There were lobbies with regular players who were always there and a chatroom, and there were some infamous players who would abuse Superman and Flash Infinite that had RU-vid videos made making fun of them. Running into a good player who knew what they were doing was always nice, especially with a character who seems to get picked rarely such as Catwoman or Darkseid. Story was interesting and well done too, and it was funny seeing Scorpion kick Superman into a car. Good times. I appreciate that game.
I hate that game now, BUT when it came out, it was the funnest MK at that point for me. Coming off the cusps of Armageddon and the other 2 3D MKs, which were very slow and chunky as much as I love those games now, MK vs. DC was lightning in comparison and very fun. But then I discovered Street Fighter 4 (a bit late), and realized that I’ve been doing things wrong my whole life.

Funny how Scorpion was one of the weakest character in the original MK1 and now he's also one of the weakest characters in MK1 reboot (history likes to repeat itself, I guess)😂
@jasonwalbridge9133 I get that. That's kinda how I felt about Scorpion, and disliked the video cause he said Scorpion was weak. But I think in combination of Scorpion & Subzero's abilities and playability they are probably the top 2 guys. At least in MK1 (original). I found Lui Kang to be mid level. People like Johny Cage seemed weaker to me. Raiden also feels mid level to me. His powers are great, but his playability isn't. Edit: Kano must be 1 of the more boring characters, cause I don't remember him.
"MK1, I need a new term." - I can see that, but personally, I'll be calling the new one "MK12," which is the same treatment that "MK9" got by fans (although online pages call it MK 2011). It's interesting though, at least from what I hear online over the years, that virtually no one calls the 3D era games by number (MK5, MK6, MK7) and how MKvsDC is also seldom called "MK8" and was not supposed to be anyway at first. But if you don't want to call the new MK1 "MK12", then I think "OG MK" is a quick and easy term. Congrats on the sponsorship.
I remember I went into GameStop when MK9 ( yes, I'm still going to call it that ) came out. I went to buy it & I called it that and the teller was like "Do you mean Mortal Kombat. The new edition, Mortal Kombat 2011?" Here I am, 9 years old, with my dukes trying to buy the game & I'm over here like bro, it's the 9th installment just give me the game lmfaooo. As soon as I said that he started talking to my mom saying "you know this game has tons of suggestive content, a bunch of gore, & pretty much could be dangerous to a young mind." My dukes was just like "sdfu, I know what we came here for " it's even more hilarious assuming she didn't know about mortal Kombat ( she was alive & actually played [& beat] the arcade version of Mortal Kombat 2 )
As a day 1 sub main I can agree 😂 my favorite part is when people trash talk with a high tier, for beating the bottom character 😂 so many choose to lose characters running rampant
Played against a good Ashrah even when Cyrax was OP. Did not go well, her range shut down his most basic gameplan. 2 backdash into 2/21/214. Even 2 into DB2 and Cyrax spin wasn't enough to help stop her mixups and block pressure. Hopefully they buff our boy soon, and revert air 21 back to its full glory 😢

i mained scorpion at launch and hated the game. recently i switched mains and now i get it. game is fun and good. this game doesn't make much sense. kharakter kits are distributed randomly.
He's really match dependent, and in a game where you can't switch characters mid match like the previous games, that's explain why nobody's using him He can literally be the best kameo in the game, he's just to situational

I think this video could've been improved if you showed more footage of the characters sucking and what they're up against. Seeing Jade-Kenshi again made me depressed.
Yeah exactly, I said the same thing. He just superimposed his speaking over footage of the character he is referring to and didn't take the time to show any of the examples of what he is talking about, and over 1k comments, yours is the only one i see that points this out.

Mortal Kombat's Cyrax may be a great character, but unfortunately Akron Ohio's most regarded pedophile Chance Wilkins, AKA Cyraxx couldn't be further from great if he tried.

Shang gets boned pretty hard in trilogy on n64. No ground magma into morph combos which was his main thing to setup big damage opportunities as well as morph into a lethal character to finish off with. This is a really big deal as ppl are not gonna just sit there and let you morph. You gotta get a combo or advantage state to morph against better players, so not being able set that up makes him so bad and defeats the whole purpose of playing him.. My favorite thing as a fun player is to use scorpion morphs off magma to jump kick spear into autocombo for a 50-55% combo. I know there are better combos out there, but this one is super easy and compensates for Scorp's lack of damage while still benefiting off scorp's high mobility to finish off the rest of the opponent's health. That and you know, Scorp has neat fatalities that make me like him more than human smoke. Can't do this in trilogy =(
LOVE your guys channel, but I am a tad disappointed at the lack of info for Sub-Zero at the end. I know the recent update put focus on Scorpion, and some info is out there for Sub's weaknesses, but the video would've felt more complete to elaborate on why for Sub as well. I personally love playing rambo in mk11, i run snare trap with his cammando combo ability that turns 3 of his strings into a grab and its so fun. My main combo is forward1 2 into snare trap ex, jump forward3, forward dash on landing then back3 1+3. It usually gets about 23-25% for only a bar of meter and i love it
Reptile in MKII might have arguably the coolest design but he is pathetically bottom 10 worst characters in any fighting game, maybe the worst character in the franchise. Thankfully it was only up from there for him.
They should have always kept Reptile as a human green ninja. In MK2 he was pretty good, he was quick and could go invisible. In ultimate MK3 and MK Trilogy, Reptiles acid spit was deadly too. Once they transformed him into the ugly Lizard monster starting in MK4, that’s when he started getting weak and always losing. Thank God the developers came to their senses and made finally him human again in MK1.
He was really boring as a green dude. The reptile made him more distinct. The jobbing though, that was a bad move. Though I'd say he's been redeemed in MK1 with the best of both worlds
Poor Kai. I was hoping to see him in Mk1 because of his association with Liu Kang, but no word of him...yet. Liu saw all the timelines possible he could create and still didn't include him. Poor guy. They should've introduced him as a Kombat kid when they introduced the others a few games ago and replace one of them, probably the snarky guy.
I think the worst thing about Kai is his name. It’s probably the most boring and simple name in all of MK. At least Jarek and Reiko have two syllables and Jax has that sexy X sound to make Elon Musky moist. But Kai? No characterization whatsoever. Shame too, cause his story and design had potential. His kit just needs a rework from the ground up, and a name change to boot. Maybe a cool last name.
That entire Kombat Pack has an argument for weakest in the game but I'd say Mileena as well . I never thought Rain was that good in MK11 but his hit confirms and amazing movement helped carry him a tad but Mileena just had nothing. Weak damage, weak projectiles, Unsafe on everything. Just not a good character. And I was a Rambo main and you have to work so hard to be good when he's a very WEIRD character with stubby buttons. Still fun tho
These past 2 weeks I have picked up Scorpion and I like playing him… but he is the worst character in MK1. People say Sub (😂)… but no. At least Sub can cook a bit. Scorp is not even in the kitchen.

What's funny about the Warlock Quan Chi is that he became my Quan Chi variation after Summoner got nerfed and he was cool for me, but I can't disagree with those reasons either.
Hard disagree with Warlock Quan-Chi. Imo Lacky Ferra-Tor or Drunken Master Bo Rai Cho should have made it. If youre a good Quan-Chi player you can still make his weakest variation work.
I always main Raiden & Scorpion and wow... Scorpion imo is def worse then Sub. His down 1 has NO range, neither does his fastest high (standing 1). His only mid is a absolute joke with a obvious gap. His standing tele doesn't extend combos / nor really punish. If you want to hit a real standing tele punish on a zoner you have to enhance so he doesn't attack but it costs a bar... He also has NO starting overheads for pressure smh....
Scorpion is considered one of the weakest characters in MK1? I played that game in arcades way back when and he had to be top three in popularity at the time. Top three for MK1 in real time were definitely Subzero, Scorpion, and idk someone else. I know the not ninjas were popular because of the aesthetic and how badass their stories were but as a kid (was like 5/6 when it hits arcades) I would have also assumed that they were competitively the best because they so popular
Jax is the best in the first two games, maybe Liu Kang is close but he just wrecks. I only play the first two games on the Genesis though so that's just my opinion.
Huh, thought you would choose Mileena in 11, you need bar for her only extender with her, her only launcher can be breaked before amp is out, they said she is a high risk high reward.
The weakest for me personally, is Striker. My favorites are: Male: Raiden Female: Kitana Loved Raiden ever since i played MK1 on the sega genesis back when I was a kid. Partly because his flying superman move is so easy to execute and cheese any opponent lol, and as a young kid who sucks at the game at the time, Raiden was the perfect character for me to cheat my way to victory. 😂 Back, back, forward, LP, I think. Lol It's been forever since I played MK1 for the genesis. Once MK2 for the genesis came out and I saw Kitana, it was over lol. I thought she was so cool and so pretty in blue with her fanblades. I've been a hardcore Kitana fan ever since lol. 😊
Sub Zero and Scorpion being at the bottom of MK1's tier list is *wild* to me. The two most iconic characters in the franchise, the OG ninjas, the poster children of Mortal Kombat being bottom tier is patently insane. What is NRS thinking?

Frost is definitely worse. Terrible weapon stance, minimum damage output, I think the only reason you might choose Kai over her is due to her weapons not being single hit.
@@WalkBesideMe she also has extremely limited opportunities for air combat, which still feels weird they included. Frost does have some upside though. Her specials aren't terrible. Ice puddle essentially gets you a free hit.
Now what about the weakest Kameo? Probably still too early to tell but I definingly feel it's Motaro or Shujinko, my vote goes towards to Motaro and I am absolutely biased because I wanted to use him when he was announced. Teleport is all he has. It's an interesting ability that allows for some unique combo routes, conversions and pressure. But he is so lacking in all other categories that I feel he doesn't cut it. He cuts your health for some reason, tail blast is underwhelming, tail turret isn't worth your whole bar for an unreliable projectile and reflect is just ok. Much of his kit is outclassed somewhere by other kameos with more utility. Tail blast has plenty of competition with other projectiles, reflect has direct competition with Sub armor and Krystal Tremor and Lao has his own teleport (albeit slower) and Sektor can use his teleport as a punish tool. At least Shujinko has some sauce in specific match ups and is unique amongst the cast.
shujinko can not be included in tier lists. he is very specific. he might become meta next year once people lab everything and try to squeeze out every advantage they can at the highest level.

@@breezy1845 Reptile was the second strongest character on MK2 for me. Sad I bad to play Kitana because one fan hit leads to an unstoppable 100% combo. Reptile was more fun than insta wins
